I just had to share my non-scale victory from today. There was a huge potluck today where I work honoring the staff of my company, so as a staff member I needed to attend. Until recently, I still would have been in the buffet line eating better than I would have pre WW, but still eating more than I should of. Well, today was the first time I talked my way through the whole event (making wiser choices) and although I wasn't perfect, I feel victorious. There was fried chicken, lumpia, pancit, mayonaise-based salads, breads, cheese balls, crackers, cakes, brownies, subs and very little of the healthy foods. I took a half of turkey sub, removed the cheese and bread and ate the turkey and lettuce, I had a a small scoop of pancit, watermelon, banana, a small protion of couscous/veggie salad and a small portion of cole slaw. I sat at a table where I couldn't get up and get seconds (but I sure did think about it a time or two) and I drank lots of water. At the end I did end up back at the buffet, but all I did was look, think it through and then I walked away. I can't tell you the battle I was having in my head, but I feel like I am a winner.
