WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Ok as of this morning I am down 12 pds. It was going off fast at first and has slowed down :( but I am still counting the points like required. I am loving the WW yogurt. Never liked yogurt before now. I will see you guys next week :)

I just joined weight watchers on tuesday. So yesterday was my first day on the program. I'm really excited and it seems that WW is a very do-able program. The meetings seem like good support and it really helps because one of my friends joined with me. I'm looking forward to seeing the weight loss and joining you guys in this thread! :goodvibes

hi everyone
just wanted to post my weigh in today...since last Wednesday, I have lost 5.6 lbs!:cool1::woohoo:I did really well making smart choices even with Easter! We went to MIL's for Easter dinner and Iknew she was having pasta, lasagna etc so I ate at home before I went. (I pretty much don't eat pasta anymore since I'm not a huge fan and I'd rather spend my points on food that I really love, you know?)

She had salad also, so I ate that but it really wasn't very good (bagged iceberg salad) so I was still hungry. I gave in at dessert and had two pieces of biscotti, a taste cake that DD didn't like and 1/2 piece of lemon poppyseed bread. I counted all the points like a good girl!

Hoping to keep this momentum going (pun intended ) and lose again next week. Lately I've had a habit of losing one week, then going crazy for the next three :sad2:

Have a great week everyone!

Wow 5.6 lbs? Congratulations!

Welcome and good luck on the program. pixiedust:

Welcome to all our new posters. I've been so busy lately I've hardly had time to post but I do read every night. This program works and is a weigh of life not a diet.

Off to eat my last two points of the day.... Hopefully I'll have more time over the weekend to talk with you all more properly. Have a great on program day all.

Welcome:cheer2:

I am down 2.9lbs this week:banana: I didn't remember what I weighed last week so I thought I was down about a 1lb. It was a nice surprise when I put it in the weight tracker. I finally hit the 10lb mark.

Monday is my birthday so this is going to be a hard weekend, diet wise. I am having chinese food on Sunday and Disneyland on Monday. I had thought about skipping the cake but I did that one year and it felt less festive:rotfl: If I could just have a piece and not consume the whole cake that would be good. One of my co-workers is also bringing in a cake today, I am going to really try to have only one piece.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

AuntieM03, congratulations on your 2.9 lbs loss this week and 10 lb total loss!:banana:

My positive this week is that I made it to Curves 3 times. This is my second week at Curves and I am enjoying it.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I just joined the Y today and had a good workout tonight. Seeing all your sucess stories are really encouraging! Hope you all have a great weekend! :goodvibes

Well I don't think I checked in last week, I was down 1.4 last Saturday, so I was pretty happy with that. Tomorrow is Weigh in day already,it seemd like a very quick week! We are going to Disney on the 21st of April, so unfortunately I won't be at my goal, but I am o.k. with that.

Down is good! Don't worry if you make your goal...the big picture is what counts. Have a great time in Disney!

Happy Good Friday!

I am down 1lb this week. I was hoping for a bit more, I weighed earlier in the week and I was the same as today. It is amazing how true it is about how much harder it is to lose as you get older:rolleyes: I have to stop comparing to what I would lose when I was younger and keep plugging away. If I could average a 1lb a week I would still be at goal this time next year:dance3:

I hope everyone has a great Easter!

I know how you feel! I used to gain a little, say I want to lose it and PooF! Gone! No more! Good job this week!

Keep going! You are doing great! Slow but steady is the best way to make sure those pounds stay off.

I missed WI on Monday, the little one I watch was sick. I have been trying to undo the damage Easter created...okay...I created. Monday is coming and I am really back on track

Have a great weekend All!

I am easing back in after missing many weeks of posting and many weeks of weigh-ins. Why is weight loss such a struggle?? It feels so good when you are doing things right, and so bad when things go wrong!! I feel better when I exercise, but so often just put it off in favor of computer time and being lazy. It is so frustrating--i'm sure we've all been there.

Mary Anne: you are such an inspiration. I started reading this thread when you had just started on your WW trip. I also had about 80 pounds to lose at the time. I look at how far you have come in that time, and I get inspired (and a little angry at myself when I see how little I've come in that time frame.) Thanks for continuing to post, and encouraging everyone else.

Nancyg56: thanks also for your posting. you are such an encouraging person!

Ok, here's my plan: Weigh in on Monday for the first time in about 8 weeks:scared1:. I've cleaned the cabinets of the tempting stuff. I've bought fresh produce, and planned some healthy meals for cooking this week. I will go to the Y today and exercise. I will drink my water, and check in here regularly.

Thanks for this thread. It is helpful to have support from all areas.

I like it! You are doing exactly what I have started to do....all over again. The water is a huge stumbling block but it is the best "medicine" for me. I also have a lovely neighbor who wants to go out for Indian food and I won't go until I reach my goal. I have to admit that I have this huge list of forbidden foods that would put me right back to square one so the Indian is the only treat I am going to allow. Anyway, she told me to "Start hoofing it Girl!", trotted down Nola's stroller and said "One More Pound.....get walking!!!!!!!!! I want Indian food!" :lmao::lmao: So am am now walking......Welby on a mission to get me to goal is harder to avoid than the walking I was avoiding. ;)

Hello fellow WW. I have kind of been MIA from the thread for a while. I think I've stayed away since I have been struggling for the last couple of months. I have been on a plateau but finally got under the number I've been holding at. I was down .6 this week. I just got back from grocery shopping and now have my kitchen prepared for a really good week.

:cheer2:to those who are doing well and  to those like me who are having a tough time.

Well, will it help to have another friend over here playing with you?

I just joined WW on line today. I need to do the daily monitoring to get anything accomplished. And I've got to lose about 15 lbs before I can really kick start any serious activity plan. My joints are really giving me grief! So that's my first goal. I'll be working on doing daily stretches and adding steps to my day, then after the 15 pound mark I should actually be able to get in some serious walking. :thumbsup2

 Hello old friend! Shall we try this again together? I'm off to the grocery to restock the healthy supplies. My biggest food challenge will be actually making a meal plan in advance! But as a good friend of my on the cruise form said. "No whining, if you can plan a Disney vacation down the most minute detail, you can come up with a food plan!"

For anyone who's doing WW on line, and help with navigating the site would be appreciated!

 Hi Jackie. Having another friend here is great. and ::yes:: that friend did put it well.:goodvibes

I went to my WI a day earlier on thurs as I went to Laughlin for a long weekend with friends. I had a lose for 5 weeks in a row. I haven't accomplished that for some time now. :cool1:

Bravo to those who have lost and :grouphug:to those who are facing challanges.

I need to lose A LOT of weight and want to learn about weight watchers, can someone explain the points to me? Is there a book I can buy that will explain it to me? I have been on ebay but I don't know which ones to buy, which ones are the best and do I need the calculator?

Goofygolfergal- Have you ever followed WW before? Are you signed up for meetings or WW online? I am trying to figure out eh best way tohelp you.

WW have two programs, one is Momentum and is a daily plan that assigned foods a point value. Every food has a value and you are given a certain amount of points dependent upon your age and weight. You also have 35 extra points each week to use as you will. Activity is assigned points which you may use.

Simply Filling is also part of Momentum but is no points but the weekly points and the activity points. All foods on the SF list are "free" as long as you only eat enough to be satisfied.

There is a lot to it, tell us how to help you and we can be more helpful. Also, go to Weightwatchers.com and hang out on the message boards. There is a lot of infor there as well.

WW has worked for me but I follow the SF plan, CORE befoer that. I am not good with points but have learned how to make healthy choices and how to make sure I keep the healthy guidelines in mind. It is funny how the WW philosophy has been a positive experience for me as well as som manyothers on this thread. Fill us in some more so we can support you as well.

Hi jackie, good to see you again. We're in this together.

Weighed in tonight for the first time since 2/9. I had actually lost a little weight since my last weigh in, so that is good news.

Went to the Y yesterday, and am on my way there in a few minutes.

It was tough to get all my water into today.

Good luck to all.

Well, my first day has gone well, I even have leftover points....so maybe I will eat that last, left-over chicken leg from KFC...maybe.

I'm still playing on the web-site, trying to find all the info I need. I think I'll pull out some of my old materials from past WW incarnations and give myself a shopping list refresher and remind myself of what worked for me. :thumbsup2

One day downward! YAY! Use all of your points, you may find that not using them actually has the opposite effect and your body will hold onto everything. My DDIL was eating way too little and her losses were sporatic at best.

One thing I found helpful was to review all of the healthy guidelines, I made sure that I had all of the daily fruits adn veggies before I let myself use points on breads, etc. Make sure you get your two or three dairy in as well. I am 52 and make sure I have dairy three times a day...this is at least 6 points but it is essential to your bone health as well as fat loss.

WW now sells a new "clicker" for $5 I think. You can program your points into it, include your WP's and as you use them you click them off. SOme of the folks at teh meeting say it has been the best money they have spent on any WW product :thumbsup2

WW says that all liquid is not "water" but for me all liquid is not equal. I also try to get my water in by drinking just water. I never knew the difference between thirsty and hungry. I was always hungry but after one year in WW I can tell when I need water and when I am hungry.

One last tip. When you shop make sure you pick up plenty of produce. You would be surprised how good and apple or an orange or raw carrots taste when you stop eating cookies. I used to bake and always had plenty of sweet treats for my Dh and of course I would reach for a cookie if I wanted a snack. An apple????? Now I crave oranges and apples, and nibble on carrots before I would touch a cookie. (Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it :rotfl2:) What works is to have those items that you like in the house so that you only have healthy choices to choose from and they are available when you need them.

Keep up the great work, any help you need sorting out the points values, etc, just ask.

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!

I am at my goal :yay::yay::yay: I joined WW April 21st, 2008 and last night, April 20th I hit goal. Now, becasue I have shared my setbacks and challenges with you, you all know I took the scenic route to goal but thanks to all of you I made it and am 30 pounds down! Now I just need to maintain and keep walking. Thank you all for your support and encouragement, I appreciate this more than I can ever say! :worship:

My DH, who has learned the very hard way which questions are acceptable, got it just right last night when I came home...he is still alive and breathing and not worried about arsenic in his ice cream.

I have a DR appointment today with the gyn. I always went to my family Dr but last year she insisted that I go to him to make sure that some issues I was having were resolved. I was not in his office for ten minutes when he was offering me "free" diets  and I was remembering why I had not wanted to go to Dr's. Right after that he was telling me his theory why women experience the issu's I had.....cancer worries....which had never entered my mind......until then. My regular DR has been so supportive and encouraging so she was shocked when I told her. Dr M said that????? By then I had started laughing about it and told her I would forgive the cancer scare but that he had a long way to go before I let the "chubby" inference go by :laughing: My sister said I should tell him I did just fine without his "free" office provided diet plans ;)

:cheer2::dance3::cool1:WEIGH TO GO!:cool1::dance3::cheer2:

Congrats on making goal....isn't that a lovely word?

I didn't hit the grocery yet...that will be tonight, so I didn't get in any dairy on day one (unless a Jello SF pudding counts :lmao:). Big sister, who lives far away and follows WW, always makes a cup of cocoa every evening to get in a dairy. That sounds like a lovely treat. I need to call her and get the proper cocoa to splenda ratio.

I make my Jello FF SF pudding and it counts as a dairy. You can buy the SF FF cocoa and it will count as dairy. WW yogurt is dairy.

2 T pudding mix, ice, milk and a banana strawberries, etc.....smoothie and it is dairy.
