WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Hello everyone.

I have not been to a weigh in since February. I know I have gained about 10 lbs since the holidays. I need help/advice on how to get myself motivated again. I can't seem to stay away from the cookies, cake, chicken fried steak, onion rings, fast food, coca-cola... well, you get the picture.

I should mention that I am under a tremendous amount of stress and I self medicate with fattening food.

I have maintained an exercise regime of at least 3X per week (which is probably why I haven't gained 20 lbs!). I enjoy exercise and haven't had a problem sticking to that.

I am still down about 70 lbs from my starting weight, and I DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK!!!

Do you guys have any advice??? I am really struggling here.

Congratulations on the loss and keeping up with the exercise.

I am back on the horse after gaining back 30 of the 70lbs I lost in 2005/2006. I know it is such a struggle. I am reading the Beck Diet Solution. It is supposed to help re-train your brain to think of food in a different way. I have not done the exercises as well as I should have but it has still helped.

I am back to writing down all my food even on the weekends:scared1: I used up all my weekly points this weekend but I didn't fool myself into thinking I hadn't done so bad. I also have written down a list of the reasons I want to lose weight and I read it at least a couple times a day. It is still a daily struggle so my advice is to just keep trying. Change just one behavior at a time if life is too stressful to make a major change right now.

I believe it was in this thread someone wrote a quote
Realize the plan doesn't require perfection; it takes persistence-Success story Stacy

I just keep picking myself up and starting again.

Good luck!

Good Friday morning!

I am down 1.5lbs:banana: I didn't weigh in last week because I was at Disneyland. I actually made it through my 2 days there and the weekend without gaining. I think that is the first time this year I didn't gain something on the weekend.

Congratulations! On both! I never manage to vacation without gaining weight so i am totally impressed!

I have not been to a weigh in since February.
.

I was where you are and it is so depressing. You know you "should not eat that" but there you go and then you feel worse. It is a vicious cycle.

I had to stop all fo the sweets and the processed foods. I followed Core and that is basically a detox kind of program. It was the only way I could stop the cookies, cakes etc. I would have one and the floodgates opened!

I would suggest that you go WI and get that over with. It won't be anywhere as bad as you have been imagining. You will also get positive reinforcement and support. Also, keep posting here, someone will always be able to chat a little and that helps me. When you feel stressed and want a snack try a cup of flavored coffee. I have a Kuerig coffee maker and make a nice cup of coffee when I want something, it takes that edge away.

Take small steps, drink your water and don't beat yourself up.

Don't beat yourself up about it, b/c it sounds like you are under a lot of stress and you may be creating more for yourself. I think you are doing a great job with the exercise so keep it up! focus on what you are doing right and work towards getting back to those healthy habits that you know. You don't have to change everything at once

when I feel like eating something I shouldn't, I chew gum, or drink tea, flavored coffee, crystal light, etc. I have also discovered Crystal light makes a sugar free candy that is awesome and I will suck on those when I am working so I don't reach for other food. i also don't tell myself I can't have, just that I should wait until later or better yet, a different day.

I think you are getting back on the right track, just keep up the good work. I also recommend the Weight Watchers book "Start living, start losing : inspirational stories that will motivate you now" I found it at my library and it was extremely helpful and motivating to read the stories so you know you are not alone! plus I picked up some good tips.

Good luck!

Rachel

:hug:I can totally relate...I also have been struggling for way too long. I just can't get my head back in the game so to speak. Every time I've been able to get back on program and lose a few pounds, I lose my motivation. I am currently 5 lbs above my goal weight, 13 lbs from where I feel most comfortable:headache::headache:

do you go to meetings? I have notb een for a couple of weeks ( I was sick 2 weeks ago and last week I couldn't face the scale) I am going to go this morning and face reality. The meetings do help me to get more motivated when I am struggling. I need to make sure I go every week now. Also, this little quote helps me when I just want to grab some cookies etc....

"Remember what you want most, instead of what you want at the moment"

I am going to write it down and post it on the kitchen cabinet and on the fridge to help me remember when I am grabbing something I shouldn't.

I hope things get better for you soon

Thanks for the quote...you just saved me the calories in the leftover cupcakes from my daughter's bday party this afternoon. THANKS!!!!! :yay:

you're welcome! I am glad it helped you say no to the cupcakes!

I printed the quote and hung one copy on my fridge and another on the cabinet with the food. I walked by the cabinet several times today and went to open it up out of habit, when I saw the quote I closed the cabinet door and left the kitchen. So far today, I've done really well with choosing the right foods and tracking! Yay me!

Hi ladies! I just wanted to share my WI this week. I was down 1.6 and am 1 pound from goal. I have taken the scenic route to get here though but that's fine. Wish me luck over Easter, I am hosting and am always afraid to not have enough food, plus I want the traditional foods we generally have. Challenges!

Good luck to tall who are facing challenges along with me! We all seem to be in this together!

wow Nancy! 1 pound from goal...that's awesome! You can get to goal next week ~ even with the holiday coming. :woohoo:

Nancy, that is really great. Just keep thinking about what you really want and not what is in front of you to pick on. You'll do fine.

Hi all. Just wanted to check in. I have lost a total of 10 pds since beginning almost 3 weeks ago. That fact has helped me stay away from the constant supply of donuts that my office has. I just remind myself that it is 6 pts for that donut. A co-worker asked me to go to McDonald's yesterday and get her a sweet tea. Now before WW i would drink 3 or more a week of these. She said she would buy me one also and gave me a $1 for it. I had looked it up and a 32 oz sweet tea is 9 pts so I got apple dippers instead (minus the caramel dip) I am off to Disney soon and am worried about staying on track there. But I figure that I will be getting all of those activity points :rotfl: You guys have a nice day.

Great progress! I never knew the point value for some of the treats that I just took for granted. Now I cringe when I think of all the fat adn sugar I was eating.

One thing that helps me to make better choices is remembering some blood vials I saw. My sister showed me the fat in the blood and some of those vials had a lot! It is an anchor that I try to hold on to when ever I want one of those ooey gooey rich treats.

Good luck at Disney World...I was there in January and did very well finding things that could keep me on plan. The biggest help for me was ordering Kids Meals at the Counter Service places...as they always offered grapes and carrots as sides. The portion sizes were perfect...I did splurge twice, once at the Princess breakfast in Norway at Epcot (17 pts in one meal!) and once at Ghirardelli at Downtown Disney (1/2 a sundae = 11 pts). I also packed TONS of food to carry with me...microwave popcorn (94% fat free), fiber one bars, cheerios, and we bought a lot of fruit our first day there for the room.

As long as you go in with a bit of a plan, you'll do great!!!

I agree, go with a plan, with some food/treats that you can eat. Plan for one or two meals that you use a good portion of your daily, weekly and if necessary AP. You will be fine. Best part about Disney is all that walking. I never thought I'd live to say that but I even go out of my way to walk MORE so that I can enjoy an extra treat there. Go, enjoy, you will be fine.

Hi everyone! It has been a busy couple of weeks for me. Last week, I was out in Colorado Springs for a symposium all week and this week has just been busy. I started back at Curves this week so hopefully, that will help my weight loss a bit.

Congratulations on loosing 10 lbs in only 3 weeks!

Well I don't think I checked in last week, I was down 1.4 last Saturday, so I was pretty happy with that. Tomorrow is Weigh in day already,it seemd like a very quick week! We are going to Disney on the 21st of April, so unfortunately I won't be at my goal, but I am o.k. with that.

Here's to healthy eating! Keep up the great work everyone!

wow, it's been a long time since i've had time to check this! i didn't gain or lose any weight this week. i'm looking at that as a positive thing, because my boyfriend's birthday was this past week, so we had lots of cake and big dinners (i decided on fish and broccolini at his fancy birthday dinner! i'm so proud of my choice! haha.). i'm ready to start losing again though. i've been trying to do my wii fit just to get active, because i just haven't had time to go to the gym.

i'm not looking forward to easter with my family's yummy food!

Happy Good Friday!

I am down 1lb this week. I was hoping for a bit more, I weighed earlier in the week and I was the same as today. It is amazing how true it is about how much harder it is to lose as you get older:rolleyes: I have to stop comparing to what I would lose when I was younger and keep plugging away. If I could average a 1lb a week I would still be at goal this time next year:dance3:

I hope everyone has a great Easter!

Awesome that you didn't gain any weight with all that cake! Great job!

hi everyone
just wanted to post my weigh in today...since last Wednesday, I have lost 5.6 lbs!:cool1::woohoo:I did really well making smart choices even with Easter! We went to MIL's for Easter dinner and Iknew she was having pasta, lasagna etc so I ate at home before I went. (I pretty much don't eat pasta anymore since I'm not a huge fan and I'd rather spend my points on food that I really love, you know?)

She had salad also, so I ate that but it really wasn't very good (bagged iceberg salad) so I was still hungry. I gave in at dessert and had two pieces of biscotti, a taste cake that DD didn't like and 1/2 piece of lemon poppyseed bread. I counted all the points like a good girl!

Hoping to keep this momentum going (pun intended ) and lose again next week. Lately I've had a habit of losing one week, then going crazy for the next three :sad2:

Have a great week everyone!
