WW general discussions

Thanks for the welcome, Miss Missy.

Mabenoab, if you go to the WW website (http://www.weightwatchers.com) there are online resources that you can use to find your points if you are planning on doing the Flex Plan. You can also track your weight loss progress there, get recipes, and so much more.

Good luck!!

Happy Monday to everyone. :goodvibes

Thank you! The site is awesome, and I got lots of great information...this is really pretty easy to follow! Still, its depressing the weight comes on so fast, and is so slow going off! But I will feel & look great at Disney in July...I willIwillIwill!!

So how often do you all weigh in? Once a week? Every day? I'm an every day weigher myself, but I only record the loss/gain on Saturdays. How bout you?

Glad it was of some help.

I weigh myself every morning before breakfast, but my official weight loss tally is when I go to my WW meeting on Tuesdays.

Good luck - you can do it!!!

I'm an every day weigher too. :) It's really made me aware of my bodies natural "rhythms". I can be up or down a pound or so on any given day, for no apparent reason. Today for example, I'm up 1.5 lbs from Monday and tomorrow is my official weigh-in. If I didn't know that I'd been hovering at that lower number all weekend, and I'm still up tomorrow, I'd probably be discouraged. Instead, I'll take whatever the scale says, knowing that in another day or so, I'll probably be back down again. :confused3

I would like to join this thread.

I have been doing WW (this time) since mid-January. I have lost 20.8 lbs. I just recently got below 200!! I would like to lose an additional 40 lbs. It has been YEARS since I have seen 160 lbs but that is the weight I am aiming for.

I have done WW probably five times in the past and have always ended up not only falling off the wagon but getting run over and drug by the wagon. I am working on coming to terms with the fact that WW is a lifestyle change and not a temporary, quick fix diet.

Some of my favorite food finds are:

Keebler's 100 Calorie Pack Grasshopper Cookies (2 pts) - taste exactly like GS Thin Mint cookies!

Flat Out Light Wraps (2 pts, I think) - I don't care for them as a wrap but they make a great pizza crust.

Hershey's 100 Calorie Dark Chocolate Bars (2 pts) - YUMMY!

Ken's Steakhouse Hot Wing Sauce (0 pts) - I mix it with light ranch or bleu cheese dressing and dip everything in it...raw veggies, oven baked fries, chicken.

Sugar Snap Peas (1 pt) - Sweet & Yummy!

Fresh Sauteed Spinach & Fresh Roasted Asparagus (0 pts unless I add butter or oil) - Will NEVER eat canned again!

Brummel & Brown Yogurt Spread (1 pt per Tbsp) - Taste just like butter IMO.

Steamed Shrimp (very low in points) - I have the seafood department at Publix steam them with extra Old Bay & I dip them in cocktail sauce w/ extra horseradish. I have this atleast once a week, if not more.

I know there are more things I have discovered this go-round but nothing else is currently coming to mind.

Hope everyone is having a great on-program week!

Hello all, this sounds like a good group, much like a WW meeting. I joined WW 2/28/06 to date I have lost 102lbs. This was a big help since I just got back from UO/IOA and SW. I am proud to say I was able to fit on every ride. I am doing the core plan, so I am terrible with point values, but if anyone needs any help with ideas for core I will be glad to help. My wife joined WW 1st and lost 34lbs and is now a lifetime member. She talked me into trying it and I am glad she did. Keep up the great work everyone, reading this thread has made me hungry but I always remember, nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

I WI at the meetings and go by that weight. I do check my scale at home the same day AFTER WI just to see the difference without clothes  makes me 1-2 lbs lighter LOL

I don't WI at home all week, my WI day gives me something to look foward to and if I WI at home everyday, it wouldn't work for me.

Welcome aboard Mom2Ty&Lins and Tank!! Hope we can all assist eachother in this. Glad you joined us! :cool1:

Tank 102lbs!! WOW Congrats!! And to your wife too :thumbsup2 Hope you rub off on us!

OH WOW!!! I had a Vanilla Chai today, guessed 4 points for it. Well I looked online at Dunkin Donuts and found the nutrion info, its 5 points :scared1: I guess I wont be doing that again LOL Glad the winter is over too, its def a winter drink!

102lbs! Thats fantastic!! With a weight lost like that you're going to need a new Disboard name, Tank.

:hippie:

Well I went to WI today. I usually do Sat but am not going to make it there this week, so I went today, 2 days early.... and still I lost 3.2 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I am now down 10.2 from 2-24 :thumbsup2

I did eat more points and also kept up with all my excercising.

Oh if anyone want to know of a nice soup for 0 points, I made it today and its great. I got it from my MIL who is also doing WW.

As for the soup....please do share! :thumbsup2

Congratulations on the weight loss, Miss Missy.

I would also love the soup recipe. Thanks!!

I would also love that soup recipe if you don't care!!

I haven't done quite as well the past few days as usual but still not too bad. I am doing well today. I only have a little over 3 weeks till our trip so I need to pick up the pace a bit.

As far as weighing, I am doing the WW At Home version of WW. I received everything through the mail and am doing this myself. My dh is "sort of" doing it with me and my mom is doing it too. It has worked well for us all. I love that it is not really like a diet and that my (almost) 2 year old can eat the same things we eat and we don't feel deprived.

Dh and I weigh in on Mondays. Yes, I weigh every day (but I don't count it until Monday when I weigh). It is, quite honestly, an obsession for me! I really think it would be good if I could just weigh in once a week and leave it at that, but it's hard to give up the weighing habit. I might try it soon and see if it makes any difference. Good luck this week everyone!

Ok here it is, we have Shaws here and used their brand where noted:

2 cans 50oz low fat broth (I got store brand)
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 bag frozen spinach
1 bag frozen oriental style vegtables (I got store brand)

cook that together and wahala! 0 pts!! :cool1: :cool1:

Hi everyone! :cool1:

OK so work is nutts this week! The storm came through and mad life hard for the last 24 hrs. No electric! Dh is sick, SIL's father passed today :( Just a bad day yesterday.

But I made it to Curves and went early... got 60 mins in, which is double the norm, feel great! :thumbsup2

My trip is in 21 days    I know I will not me the size I want, but I am closer everyday.

Hope you all like the soup, I love the share helpful things, even if they aren't mine originally. This is what makes the world go round right!

Have a great day all!

Thanks for the soup recipe! Sorry about the bad start to the week but congrats on getting the exercise in! I have been slacking on that lately. I have been sick and stressed with school and have let the exercise slide. I MUST get back on track because, ironically enough, we leave for OUR WDW trip in 22 days, lol!

Thanks for the soup recipe, Miss Missy. I appreciate it, and look forward to making it soon. :goodvibes

Weigh-in today for me at noon. Keeping my fingers crossed that I lost something. We had friends over for dinner Saturday night and I really blew it then, but I've been (mostly) good the rest of the week, so I'm optimistic.

The biggest sign of improvement is that the pair of jeans that I normally wear are fitting A LOT looser!!

ETA: I lost 3.4 pounds this week. Was very surprised and happy!! The weigh-ins are so important to me; they're what keep me honest in my eating.

You're absolutely right about that. Gotta keep the "big picture" in mind and what happens over the long haul. :)
