WW general discussions

HI all

Day3 for me - All is well, I think I lost a little - Probably water weight but I'll Take it.

I used all my points by 5:30 last night and I found the perfect snack to get rid of the little hunger pains I was having. I know this is an old one but Sugar free jello - 10 calories and worked like a charm.

I am going for the english muffin pizzas today. I can't wait. Have a good day everyone, thanks for letting me join along. :goodvibes

Just found out my 20 HS reunion is October 13th. I've been wanting to drop some of this fat, and this is a big incentive to do so. I also need too for health reasons. I love pasta and bread - could eat a whole basket at a restaurant.

I just started my grocery list and I plan on getting another package of the Thomas' 100 calorie muffins and making some pizzas. I can even make them at lunch because we have a toaster oven in the breakroom.

I love to snack, so I need to remember to add all that up too, otherwise I'll go over my 24 points by 10am.

If you are allotted 24 points and would share what you eat, I would appreciate it.

Thanks - and pray for me - Diane:thumbsup2

those pizzas sound tasty! Thanks!

Here's my 24 point day..

cin. shredded wheat, strawberries, milk (I don't drink the milk though) = 3 points

grapes - 1 pt/(although yesterday I had 11 of those Ritz cheese chips for 3 points)

2 pieces of aunt millie's 5 grain light bread, spray butter, 4 ounces of turkey (the prepackaged brand in the reusable container), 1 snack baked of baked ruffles etc - 4 pts

fiber one bar - 2 pts

dinner - around 10 points
dessert - pudding snack cup or ww ice cream bar 2 pts

That's what I've been having. Sometimes I have a frozen lunch which is usually around 5 - 7 points so then I adjust dinner or skip dessert.

I almost forgot an awesome snack...orville red. light single serving popcorn, add some spray butter and the whole bag is 2 or 3 points, I forget which.

Another snack I like is the all-bran crackers w/2 tbsp of dean's light french onion dip - 3 points.

Hi! I joined WW on Feb. 26, 2007. I am down about 13 lbs so far (although I find the scale fluctuates for me sometimes which can be frustrating). I am not attending meetings or doing it online. I ordered the kit and am doing it at home on my own. I find this works very well for me. My mom is also doing it. My dh is sort of doing it too...meaning he does cheat some but he is making much better choices and does eat what dd and I eat when he is at home so he is getting healthier as a result.

I find this way of eating very simple and wish I had started earlier! Now I cringe at the idea of going back to my old eating habits and I hope I never do! I also love keeping a food journal. It is a huge help! I am glad to see this thread and will try to pop in when I can.

I just joined WW on March 12th and so far have lost 8.4 pounds :)

I have recently started walking on my treadmill and am finally up to about 50 minutes a day. I was a big time soda drinker and never drank water until I started WW. It has been a little over 2 weeks since I've had any kind of Coke, Pepsi, etc.

Think this will be a fun thread to be part of.

So I wanted to share something I made to help keep me on track. I took the time to make a list of all the foods, serving and points for all the foods I eat the most, fruits, veggies, dinners, and even snacks.. anything I knew I would consume. I did it keeping in mind how I eat, so say I have yogurt with flax most days, on my list I did it as yogurt (brand) with flax, Coffee w/ 1%milk, egg whole or egg whites.. I mean I really broke it down and this was the first column, 2nd column is serving size (serving would be for each thing, yogurt/flax would be 1/ 2tbsp), 3rd is the Points. Example

FOOD-----------------------SERVING SIZE----------------POINTS

Special K vanilla w/1% milk------3/4 cup/ 1/4 cup milk---------3

rice cake choc chip-------------1 cake-----------------------1

I think you get the idea LOL

I did it in excel and I can update it in a breeze. But what I did is, make copies, 1 is in my desk at work :goodvibes and 1 is TAPED to the inside of my kitchen cabinet!! So now when I journal food, it makes it sooo easy! And if I only have so many points left to work with, I can give a quick peek there and see what I can have! If you keep updating it, you get a lot of stuff on there and it really helps!

Well that is my hint for now. Have a great day all!

Hi Miss Missy

I LOVE this idea - I seem to have my favorites and I can never remember the points - So I think I will use your idea it sounds great.

I also had those english muffin pizza's for dinner- They are real good and I love that they are low in points - good bang for the buck. :woohoo:

Day 4 and I am starting to get the hang of this - Thanks for this thread :goodvibes

Have a good day

Diane:)

Your welcome! I am at work and just had to refer to my list here LOL loving that I have it at the ready. I add new stuff as I try new stuff.

Keep coming back here and we'll all do it together! My next WI is Saturday :cool1:

What is flax, what do you add it to, it is nutrious and how many points is it?

Thanks
Also - where do I buy it - walmart?:thumbsup2

My WI was today and I stayed exactly the same. I knew this was going to happen because of the muscle thing. Working out so much when I never did before, is sure gonna make muscle. I made a goal for exercise on the March thread for 675 mins of exercise for March, I had surgery and could do anything for 1 week. Well I guess I did well since I more than doubled my goal in 3 weeks time, I did 1415 mins   WOW WOW WOW amazing what we can do when we try.

I did make a big mistake this week tho, I ate too less. LOL I NEVER though I would be told to eat MORE!! LOL But with the exercising I should be eating more points and I didn't, I also didn't use any of my extra 35 weekly points and I really messed up but not eating all my regular points 5 of the days. I don't know why, I just didn't. So this is all a lesson, live and learn and do better next time is how I think of it.

This is the brand and type I use. I swear by it! I do not like health products that are not organic so this brand is what I get. Not at Walmart, I buy it at Whole Foods Markets, but here is a link to it. I do not like the pill form. I put it in my yogurt and it kinds get thick so it is a matter of preference. I also put it in Quaker Oats, for the oats I get the big can of plain oats and use 1/2 cup of oats, a pinch of sugared Cinnamon, 3 tbsp spoons of milk and 2 tbsp of flax.
I got my gf hooked on the flax too. She turned me onto the oats and I turned her onto the flax. LOL. Flax tastes a bit nutty like.

The Health Benefits of Flax Seeds!

The National Cancer Institute has identified golden flax seeds as a food product that deserves further study and attention because of its potential cancer fighting properties and many health benefits. According to the U. S. Department of Agriculture, golden flax seeds contain 27 identifiable cancer preventive compounds. Medical sources abound that have published clinical results concluding that golden flax seed can have a positive impact on your overall health.

The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute suggests adding flaxseeds, walnuts and canola oil to your daily meal plan. These foods are high in an omega-3 fat called alpha-linolenic acid and appear to lower triglyceride levels. Fatty fish, such as bluefish, salmon, halibut and sardines, also contain omega-3 fats. Including these fish two to three times a week may help keep triglyceride levels stable.

Some of the potential health benefits of flax seeds that have been reported: (Please note these claims have not been evaluated by the FDA. See disclaimer below.**)

Lowered blood cholesterol levels
Lowered high blood pressure
Increased energy, vitality, and stamina
Increased sense of calmness under stress
Reduced threat of blood clots
Protection against cancers, particularly hormone sensitive cancers such as breast and prostate
Better regulation of blood sugar levels
Eases inflammatory tissue conditions, including arthritis
Alleviation of dry skin, eczema and psoriasis
Enhanced immune system
Increased metabolic rate with a positive impact on weight management
Helps with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
Natural laxative
And the list goes on

Hi Guys,

I made it through my first week of WW on my own, I feel great and can not wait to get on the scale Monday morning. Anyhoo, I found a great pita bread from Joseph's - It has Flax in it and Oak Bran and one whole pita is only 1 point. I make my sandwiches with it, I made a pizza with it and used it with hummus.

Just thought I'd share it with everyone. I Live in Mass and they carry it here at the Stop & Shops near the deli.

I think I am down 4lbs or more - I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Have a nice day:goodvibes

Sounds like you did a great job keeping on plan.

Yes, that bread is talked about at WW too, haven't tried it yet. Let us kow how you did at WI.

I am at school and bored so I am being bad for a moment and here I am! I had WI yesterday and I lost another 2.5 lbs! I couldn't resist and weighed again this morning and was down yet another lb! I am thrilled because the last couple of weeks I have been kind of maintaining and not really losing. I lost quite a bit the first few weeks and then, I tried everything, but the scale wasn't budging. So now I am down 3.5 lbs this week and I don't feel as discouraged as I had been feeling. I guess it's true that you have a few really good weeks and then you might just maintain for a week or 2 and so on and it all balances out at the end.

Anyway, I am down 16 lbs since Feb. 26 and I feel so great!!! Keep up the great work everyone!

Btw, the Cobble Mills (I think that's right) 12 multigrain whole wheat sub rolls have flax seed in them too. I make a sub sandwich out of it sometimes for lunch and it's pretty good.

They have them here in CT as well! :thumbsup2 They are soooo great! Sometimes I'll spread one of the Laughing Cow Lite cheese wedges on (1 pt) and roll it up....yum!

Hi All,

Well WI went good, I thought I lost more than I did (shouldn't assume) but I lost 3 lbs. :yay: I am really happy with that, this week my goal is 2 lbs.

I have had a good day so far, for dinner I am having a salad and a can of Progresso Soup, Vegetable Classics-Minestrone - The whole can is only 2 points Yahoo.

How is everyone else doing?

One week and a day in here.:goodvibes

Hi all -

I would love to join in here! The first time I did WW was in 2001 and lost over 20 lbs. I've tried by myself off and on over the years and finally started going to meetings again at the beginning of the year. So far, I've lost over 10 lbs (sorry, I don't remember the exact amt). I know I can do much better but I'm a stress eater and have had lots of stress in my life since the year started.

I think I've posted this somewhere else, but I find when I'm accountable, I tend to stay within my points so much better! So ... I'm shooting for 8 lbs this month. This week, I'm going to stay within my points and go weigh in Saturday. I will definitely drink my water every day.

When I'm really staying on plan, some of the foods I like to have include:

Kraft 2% sharp cheddar cheese packets (1 oz) - 2 pts - plus 5 light Club crackers. Very filling and you get one of your calciums in.

Grapes

Frozen lunches and supplement with a small salad.

I also keep the fun packs of plain M&Ms in my desk for that mid-afternoon chocolate craving - 2 pts

And I love skinny cows!! I've also just discovered the sugar free jello. I've been making 1 - 2 boxes a week.

I find when I'm accountable, I tend to stay within my points so much better!

Me too! :goodvibes If I don't have to "check in" with someone on a regular basis, well...I'm much more "relaxed" about what I eat. :rolleyes1
