I am looking over my planning kit and trying to figure out the music I want to use for my ceremony at the WP. Does anyone know if the list they provided us of choices, are tracks off a CD, or is that the list the organist knows how to play. Since the organist is included with the WP cost, I don't see why they would play a CD the whole time.
Also, what is everyone's opinion on the talent of the organist?
TIA :)

I believe that the list that they provide is just a sampling of some of the more popular choices. My wedding planner told me that they can really reproduce and play anything, so we've chosen some songs from different movies and different renditions of some of the songs from the list they provided.

We're not married yet, so I can't speak to the talent of the organist.. but I'm hoping they are good. :)

we have the wp as our ceremony location though I dont know if we are going to use the pianist/organist. The music that we want is all from cds. Does anyone know if there is a charge to play cds at the wedding pavillion and not use the organist?

I would contact your wedding planner. I do not believe they have a sound system to broadcast CD sound. The organist is EXTREMELY talented. We were asked to provide sheet music for anything out of the norm and we did. We heard our song (from a CD) played on the organ and it's beautiful.

We can't wait. 23 days and counting!

The organist was very good at our ceremony. I requested a song that i had to provide sheet music for. I also requested to have the organ sound like a piano as i really don't like the sound of an organ, to churchy for me. I thought the music sounded exactly like the cd. I was very happy with it.

They do have a sound system, you can have music played from a cd. The organ sounds great, not like a nutty silent movie or church time. We used a cd for the recessional and otherwise the organ. Sounded great! :thumbsup2

The CD is to give you a sample of what he can do, but he can pretty much play anything as long as he has the sheet music. We used the organist and he did an amazing job.

It looks like there is a sampler cd from the wp organist, does anyone know how to get one of these cd's?

My wedding hasn't happened yet but so far they have been really accommodating with music. My grandfather was a church choir director and my mother is a trained opera and church singer. The one thing I said first to DFTW was that the only thing I've known since I was a little girl about my wedding is that my mother was going to be my singer and that first and foremost they had to be able to accommodate that! Also my choir director is a phenomenal composer so I'm using his pieces and they've been awesome about telling me how to get them the sheet music and how rehearsals will go with he and my mother. Couldn't be happier so far!
