WOW - I just sold my old gold........

Hmmm I accepted my offer of $357 last Thursday for USGB, I am wondering how long it will be before I get a check. How long has it taken for everyone else to recieve theirs? I have more stuff to send out but am waiting for my first check before I do.

I accepted my offer last Wednesday night. I received my check in the mail on Monday. Hope that helps.

If I have less then 5 oz should I use goldfellows??? I am ready to send to USGB but I am pretty sure I have less then 5oz. It just seems like USGB is paying more.
Any tips would be great!

You can still send it to USGB. Just be aware that the payout rate will be reduced. I'm not sure how much, but I'm guessing 20 - 25%. It seems to be a tad more than Goldfellow, though, regardless of the weight.

Goldfellow seems to be preferred for customer service. I'm not sure USGB is accustomed to dealing with so many individuals on a regular basis! *LOL*

I know I read somewhere in this massive thread how to figure your payout but I can not seem to find it.

Can some one help me out? I am totally dumb when it comes to math. I failed that subject big time in school!

I have .95 oz of 14K, .20 oz of 18K and .95 oz of 10k. I came up with a figure of around $905 does that sound right?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Michele

LaLaroo78,

I just tried to calculate for you based on what USGB was paying out as of today on their website table...and deducting 10% since you have less than 5 oz. of gold, which I believe they do. I converted your oz. to grams, then to pennyweights...and ended up with about $796. My math skills are lacking too, lol, so take that for what it's worth. ;) Of course, it will vary according to when they actually receive and process your gold...the value may be up or down that day.

Can someone tell me if I'm correct on this . . .

My sister and I may combine our 14k gold since we both have pretty equal amounts which total at least 5 oz. If I'm understanding correctly, US Goldbuyers will pay $25.75/pennyweight for 5+ oz of gold (depending on purity, etc.). So, by my calculation, 5 oz. of gold converts to about 91.15 pennyweights, so my payout should be in the neighborhood of $2,300. Did I calculate that right?

I sent gold in previously to Goldfellow, but after reading more posts on this board, it seems USGB pays more, so I'm probably sending it there.

I finally went thru jewelry box and actually foudn some things to sell. Planning on calling USGB tomorrow morning. Is this the one you get 10% more if you write "disboard" on the envelope?

Ok I finally did it! I sent my package today to USGB, they should get it tomorrow. I am not sure what I will get and have no idea of the weight. I should have been a little smarter with that....oh well:confused3
I had some real gold and some silver in the package, so we will see.
I AM ON PINS AND NEEDLES!!!! I hope to get about $200 (wishing for more though).
I will update as soon as I hear something

I just tracked my package with Fedex....and it is already out for delivery:cool1: I will keep you up to date!!!

I decided not to bother with it. I don't wear yellow gold jewelry. I only have white gold and sterling pieces. None of the white gold pieces are ones I have any desire to part with, and I don't have enough sterling that I don't want to make it worth bothering. Oh well. :( I'll file this away for future reference though.

They were very nice about answering my questions though. All you have to do to get the DIS boards deal is write DISBOARD on your packing slip in black magic marker. And they told me that as of today silver is .41 per pennyweight.

I just stumbled on this thread and now I'm going to request an envelope and raid my jewelry box. :cool1:

I finally did it today too :) I just dropped my package off in the drop box..

I have no idea how much weight I had, but I had about 29 pieces lots of charms, few rings and couple necklaces and braclets... Well see. I have NO IDEA what to expect but even $50 is more than I have right now ~lol, and I haven't even looked at this stuff for probably 15-20 years... Keep you all posted... I sent it to Gold fellows, only b/c I had there kit and it seemed easier....

Goldfellow offers the 10% premium is you write DISBOARD on the packing list.

ok so now I am alittle worried, I didn't do something right.. I dropped my fedex pax off in a drop box this am, and I am thinking it had to be picked up by now.. So when I go to check the tracking all it shows is the pack date being shipped to me for the kit? It doesn't show any record of it being received yet? Does that seem normal? TIA

This was to gold fellows by the way..

popcorn:: I mailed my gold to USGB yesterday & they just called when I was in the bathroom. I called right back & they said they will call me within the hour. I am biting my nails!!!
