ok so now I am alittle worried, I didn't do something right.. I dropped my fedex pax off in a drop box this am, and I am thinking it had to be picked up by now.. So when I go to check the tracking all it shows is the pack date being shipped to me for the kit? It doesn't show any record of it being received yet? Does that seem normal? TIA

Most Fedex drop boxes don't get picked up until the evening - the one I use doesn't pick up until 7pm. There should be a sticker on the box (like on regular mailboxes) that tell you when the pickup time for that box is. It should show up online sometime tonight or tomorrow am.

There is no charge to ship to them... both companies give you their acct number when you sign up online to send tham a package.

There is no charge to you if you use FEDEX. You use their account number. They will reimburse if you only if you needed to ship by US Postal Service. You won't need to do that unless you need to insure your package for more than what FEDEX allows.

I am so going to our local gold buyer this weekend! I have the following items:

2 10K class rings (DH and mine)
1 14K diamond heart ring
1 14K diamond heart pendant (matches the ring)
1 14K charm
1 10K charm with 3 carat onyx stone
1 14K ring with 2 carat stone (some purple thing)
1 14K necklace
1 14K broken mens(heavy) bracelet
1 14K mens ring (very very heavy)
1 pair 14K diamond earrings
1 pair 14K diamon and ruby earrings (pretty good size, 3 diamond and 3 ruby)
1 14K diamond and ruby tennis bracelet

Anyone want to give me a rough estimate on what they think I will get? Would love $1000 or so.

These are items that we have not worn for years and years, DH said sell them and pay off our Oct trip! Will keep you posted on what I get!

No that doesn't sound right...I had called them yesterday twice(my self and my dh) to compare a quote from another company and I had

The cost of gold went up higher today too.... but I never see their payout chart change!?!?!

The cost of gold jumped up over 20 points today to $944/ounce...wow!

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for sharing all of the great information. My kids are dying to go to summer camp this year, I had been wondering how I was going to pay for it...now I have my answer!

I have a bunch of stuff I bought at cost years ago when I worked at a jewelry store, and haven't even looked at in years...never figured it would come in handy someday!

Anyone else stalling at sending theirs in? I got the mailing info a week ago & I'm almost afraid to send it because I want a great payout. I'm afraid I'm going to send it & it won't be worth much. I'm enjoying dreaming of a decent payout & don't want any bad news! I should just get it over with & send it -maybe tomorrow.

Can someone tell me if I'm correct on this . . .

My sister and I may combine our 14k gold since we both have pretty equal amounts which total at least 5 oz. If I'm understanding correctly, US Goldbuyers will pay $25.75/pennyweight for 5+ oz of gold (depending on purity, etc.). So, by my calculation, 5 oz. of gold converts to about 91.15 pennyweights, so my payout should be in the neighborhood of $2,300. Did I calculate that right?

I sent gold in previously to Goldfellow, but after reading more posts on this board, it seems USGB pays more, so I'm probably sending it there.

I'm baaack! Can anyone tell me if my estimate above sounds right? I realize it could be lower depending on purity, etc., but I am looking at what I think would be the high end of a payout.

So after going to a local jeweler's and being offered $50. for a 10K necklace, a 14K necklace and a heavy 14K bracelet, I'm thinking that I should check out Gold Fellows (obviously I turned down the jeweler's price). I forgot to ask how much the pieces weighed, but they did test them. I've since dug a few earrings and a ring out of my jewelry box to add to the pot.

I sent to GoldFellows on Monday and got a low price from them yesterday.. I requested my gold back, which they are shipping back...USGB offer more $$$ when i called them and asked them... So that is where mine will go from now on.

OK. I'm ready to take the plunge. My fed ex pack is packed and ready to go out tomorrow, to gold fellows. I had 20 pc of misc. gold and 30 pcs of silver.
(Wait... 30 pcs of silver, sounds like a line from Pirate of the Caribean!)

Some of the gold pcs I'm not sure about. One chain is nice and heavy, stamped 14K Italy, but its a dark color, almost like an old penny color. I tried cleaning with jewlery cleaner, didn't leave it in the cleaner long, and it didnt change it. So we'll see what happens. Came out of a storage locker purchase so some pcs were not mine originally. Also 2 chains are stamped 14K, but look to be filled, so I guess I wouln't expect anything for those. I don't have a way to weigh the items, but the pack feels nice and heavy.

I'll let you know how I do. Got to get my 2009 trip planning started!

I shipped to USGB last week, and got a great pay out... but found some more gold and I like you didn't think it was much...so, I sent to Goldfellow... they gave me a payout of 205. and I called USGB with the breakdown in pannyweight which was .6 and 11.5 and they told me 341.00.... so for 135.00 more.. I requested my gold back and it will go to USGB when I get it back.

Goldfellows was very kind I was honest and told them why I asked for it back...I checked Fed Ex and it is on its way back already...

Try which ever company you like... It was cool to see it posted on Goldfellows website..but they $$$ is better in my pocket!!!!
