I had a lot of silver. I estimated my package to weigh 3lbs. There were two sterling silver bead necklaces, some heavy bracelets, etc. Stuff from the 80's

Oh and I wrote "referred by Disboards" down the margins of both sides of the packing slip. My offer said 10% disboard upgrade when I read it online.

US Goldbuyers is in the diamond district 47th street between 5th & 6th I believe. No apptmnt necessary. He said it was a breeze, walk in and they take you into a small room, man sits behind a glass he goes through what you have and gives you a price. If you accept it, you give him ID to copy, sign a form and walk out with the cash. I am thrilled!!

I got my check today and I got the call on Friday. I live in NC. It came in a regular envelope.

I was getting antsy too before I read all this. I had asked the same question, wondering how long till I get my check from USGB. I got the call Friday, and still no check today (thursday). Maybe tomorrow...one week later.

Thank you for all those who posted their stories. I decided to go with US Goldbuyers (hope I made the right decision). I immediately got an email from them with instructions. I know that gold's down since the beginning of this thread, but I'm afraid to wait for it to fall more. My employer has fed-ex pickup, so I'm going that route instead of calling Fed Ex to pick up. I went thru my jewelry box and found quite a few things (several old rings that I bought at an estate sale, lone earrings, some charms, some broken necklaces and bracelets, a few not-broken. Mostly 14K, although one ring is 22K). Just stuff that has been in my jewelry box for years...nothing that I wear! anyway, here's a photo of what I'm sending. I have no idea what it weighs -- will update after I weigh on postage scale. Keeping my fingers crossed! Will post my offer. I'm so excited!!!!!!!

OK...after following this thread for 2 weeks my husband is taking my stuff in today to Gold Buyers since he works in the city. Fingers crossed I hope I get more then I'm hoping for. I'm Hoping for $300...anything else is a bonus!

I'm a bit frustrated myself as I thought the turn around time from GoldBuyers was 24-48 hours after receiving package. We are now past 72 hours and I have yet to receive a call or email with any payment offer. So for folks who are looking at GoldBuyers from a mailing perspective then just be forewarned that its taking longer than at least I originally thought. (And yes I do know they got the package, etc.)

I just wanted to happily post that I just received my settlement from Goldfellow and ....drumroll please...

It was $509.29!

Not bad for two broken necklaces, 9 old rings, a bracelet, 4 sets of earrings, a charm and a pin -- all of which I no longer like or wear. I was expecting around $600 but that price of gold dropped a bit. I'm still excited!

I received my settlement from Goldfellow. They just got my package this morning at 11:05 AM. $740.24!!!

I'm a bit confused about how Goldfellow payout works. I weighed my gold and it came in at 22 grams. I can't figure out from their website how to determine how much that is worth. Can anyone help me?

Every package I sent was processed same day. My moms silverware was processed already, and they only rec'd it this morning! Theyre very fast. Now, to receive the checks, I dont know. I accepted my settlement last Saturday I think it was, and havent gotten the check yet.

Wow, I have just about "NOTHING" LOL. I have .6 on my little postage scale...that's less than an ounce. Is that the same way they weigh it? Or does it need to be converted somehow? I see it says 10 pennyweights....not sure how to convert that?

Don't forget when you are trying to figure out what your loot is worth, there is also the purity factor to consider.

I weighed mine and had just about 2 oz of gold with one long necklace being 18k and the rest being 14k. Thought I'd get at least $800 but was sorely disappointed when I was offered $500.

So, it is not just the weight of the gold but the purity level.
