I didn't have any specific request for them to call me and they did anyway. I think you are okay with that

FINALLY just got "the call" from USGOLDBUYERS
$416.00... I'll take it...
I would go ahead and send it but just expect a long delay.
They are like 3 or 4 days behind.
I sent mine last Wednesday just got the offer now.
Goldfellow seems quicker but you have to wait 3 or 4 days
to get their packet in the mail.

Seems like most of us have a lot of extra $$'s.
What can we come up with next.![]()
As for me - he rechecked my order. Apparantly there was a layer of palladium in my school ring - darn that Jostens, that thing was pricey!!- and that throws the machine off when measuring purity. So, if you have a class ring, beware of this! My payout went up $150 just from that being done separately and I'm ending up with $702.44. Now my check is on it's way.
Thanx for the update! I feel a little bit better!![]()
Just one thing....You said the layer of palladium threw off the machine and when he rechecked it - your payout went up. Can you explain that to me?
I sent in a Jostens class ring that I think is stamped 10k.
thanx![]()
My ring was supposed to be 14K gold but in his words "Class rings are the biggest rip off ever." Instead of being 14K all the way through it had a layer of palladium between the gold and the stone - he said 50% of the ring was palladium! I guess he sees that a lot. My ring was very large and heavy (no wonder why I never wore it!!). He said that palladium is very close to gold in the eyes of the "machine" (I think there is more info about the machine on the website) but it's not as dense, so it throws off the reading of the entire lot of gold that goes in with it.
If your payout is way less than you expect, I would ask them to recheck it without the ring. I guess any ring or piece of jewelry could potentially have palladium inside it - how would we know? I think he went through every piece of mine individually after that and the purity went from 47% up to 60% pure gold and that's why the payout went up.
Hope that helps!![]()
Do you have the name of the person you talked to at USGB? I sent in a class ring that was stamped 10K. I've tried to call to get a breakdown of my offer, but they haven't called me back. This was Friday that I requested it. Not sure if they can even do anything now b/c I got my offer on Friday and accepted. I wonder if I should have rec'd more. I guess it is worth a call to see if they still have my package separate.

I received my call from USGB around 8:30 last night. My payout is $582.91 for 5 bracelets and 1 thin necklace with charm. They received my items last Wed., 3/18.
I believe the gentleman's name was Gene and he was extremely kind. He asked if the payout was what I expected, and I replied that I'm satisfied. He also asked how I heard about him and I replied Disboards.
Thanks again to the OP for posting this. I'm pondering whether I want to treat myself to either an IPhone or a pair of diamond stud earrings with my found money!
His name was Gene and he said he was one of the managers. I'm not too sure there is anything they can do now that you've accepted your offer already but it doesn't hurt to try. Was your offer a lot lower than you thought it would be?
