Oh yes, and by the way, everything I touch turns to Doo Doo. The day they received my package gold plunges. Sorry everyone :)[/QUOTE]

And I thought it was me...;) Maybe it's both of us...I haven't even sent mine in yet. I was going to send it to USGB, but now I'm having second thoughts.

Paypal did charge a small fee. No biggie. I have a PP debit card so my funds will be available quicker..once it clears!

1 dwt pennyweight = 0.055 ounces

and I think a Troy ounce is 20 dwt

It's all just so confusing...

I guess Usgoldbuyers was working on what
they received Wednesday today...???
I can't believe they are so far behind.
And they are not answering their phones.
Maybe I will hear something tomorrow.

Did you try their (212) 3 or the 1-800?

I have tried calling both the 1-800# and the Direct # and I get the same answering machine messages. I leave messages and guess they are too busy. I am getting another package ready tonight but I still do not know who to send it to. Seems like USGB pays a little more but Goldfellow has better customer service?! What to do? I don't know. :surfweb:

Does anyone know of a well known jeweler who will appraise Pearls?? My Grandmother left me a strand of Mikimoto pearls with matching earrings and I couldn't find a local jeweler that would appraise them. Does Kays or Zales or any of them appraise jewelry?

TIA!

just another plug for Goldfellow...I sent them my gold last Tuesday AM, they received the package Thursday and I had the settlement by Thursday evening. I opted for a check instead Paypal and received my check today. I also had sent them 3 bracelets that were not gold...I did not expect to get them back but they were in the envelope with my check today. I would recommend them anyday. It just seems people are having issue with US Goldbuyers all of a sudden :confused3

Did you use USGB or Goldfellow?

I used Goldfellow first and had a great experience. I was greedy and saw the higher payouts at USGB and now I am just waiting......

They received my box on Thursday. Haven't heard anything......just waiting.

I haven't gotten around to shipping my gold yet. Is it too late? I see some people are getting less. I really don't have a whole lot. A few small rings and a few gold chains. Should I hang on to it a little while and see if gold goes back up or just go ahead and send it?

Just wanted to let everyone know I had my mother go through her old jewlery and I sent it off to US Goldbuyers.
I sent my package on Tuesday, they received Wednesday am and I got the phone call around 1:30 pm on Monday.

My mother basically gave me her old stuff including a bunch of c**p I didn't think was even worth sending, but I did...anyway I know she had about .4 ounces of 14K and .5 I think of 10K. Plus alot of misc. stuff I couldn't tell. She swears 1 of the necklaces was 14K but I couldn't find a marking on it.

Anyway...the offer was $402 and change. Which she took but she wanted the stuff that wasn't gold to be mailed back. They "must" ship back fed-ex ground with $500 insurance which is alot for non valuable stuff. But she was fine with that. Just an FYI if we didn't want it mailed back it would go to the salvation army. It was $16 and change to send it back to us so her payout will be $384...

Overall the experience was ok. What I didn't like was it was it seemed like I was pulling teeth trying to figure out what wasn't paid and what we would be getting back in the mail, so it was kind of hard to evaluate the price.

I forget the conversion for the ounces to the amount paid out...

So anyway, its more money then she had before...

USGB only lists prices from 5oz and up. Do they take 10% off if it's below that?

I'm waiting to see if gold starts going back up. Then I'm going to sell my stash ;)

I'm hanging on to mine for a little while to see. All of mine is broken stuff anyway, so if it doesn't go back up, I'll probably just send it on off. I don't have much, and I had planned to go with US Gold Buyers, but now I don't know. I might go with GoldFellow after all. The service with US Gold Buyers seems a little questionable at this point.

From what I was told when I talked to them (USGB) yesterday, they said that if it was below 5 oz., then the payment would be 8-10% lower than what they're paying for 5oz. or more. Does that make any sense? HTH!

We sent a bunch...12pcs but they are sending 8pcs back that were gold filled. So I got $395 for 3 rings and one necklace.

Jackie

ETA: 2 rings were 10k and one ring and a necklace were 14k(necklace was on the heavier side.)

Just received the stuff that didn't sell from Goldfellow yesterday. I was surprised they sent it back, because last week when they called and gave me my estimate, she asked what to do w/ the junk that didn't sell, and i told her to throw it away, or keep it, but i got it back, so i feel like they are a trust worthy company.

I just called USgoldbuyers and they are now not accepting anymore new customers until further notice.
