WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I just called USgoldbuyers and they are now not accepting anymore new customers until further notice.

I wonder what that means for someone like me who has already emailed them and gotten the info (FedEx account number) to send my stuff out but I just haven't sent it yet. :confused3

I'm wondering what this means for me since I sent my stuff yesterday?:confused3

Me too! I just mailed my stuff TODAY, went to Fedex Kinko's because I had recieved the email with instructions yesterday!
So I wonder if will they accept it, or send it back??
That would be a shame..it took me a long time to decide to go with usgoldbuyers...
right now gold is up to $935 an ounce..hope it keeps climbing.

and to add to that..wonder if I should email them a heads up that I sent my package, before hearing that were not accepting new customers till further notice?

I just refused an offer from Goldfellow. I thought it would be much higher than offered so thought I would hold on to send to US Goldbuyers, but now I realized maybe I made a bad choice.

I sent in three gold rings..one was 14K and quite heavy, two 10K rings, and about three silver rings, and a silver bracelet. I think I'm forgetting something too, but I was offered $71 Monday. That seems really low to me! All of the silver items together were only offered at $0.39 !!!! I would rather have them back then sell 4 or 5 items for $0.39.

I was soooooo bummed b/c it seems every else is getting waaaaaay more than that. I was so sure it would be at least $150-$200 based on what I was seeing every else here posting for what they were sending in.

I will just wait and see what happens for others and try again sending somewhere else.

Has anyone brought their goods to a local shop that buys gold and silver? Just wondering how they pay out compared to USGold.

I just got my call from USGB, sent my package on 3/19 and they received it on 3/20.
I had 16.1 dwt (mixture of 10 and 14k, don't know the breakdown) and they offered $251.92.

I'm happy with that. That's more $ towards our summer trip to Hilton Head, for basically junk I had in my jewelry box that I hadn't looked at in years.

I think since you've already called them and gotten the info, you can send it. I couldn't even get to talk to a real person, just a message that stated they were experiencing high volume and we're not accepting new customers.

okay..I really didn't talk to them though, I clicked a link to request an email of information. I got the email, and followed the instructions on how to fill everything out. They wouldn't ever answer the phone, But when I called it didn't say we aren't accepting new customers. It just said leave a message.
Oh well..guess I'll find out.

See this worries me. Lately people's prices are NOT reflecting what they were paying a few days ago, even taking into consideration the drop in price of gold. Many have reported they were paying 10% less than the price per DWT posted on their site for less than 5 ounces.
Even if ALL you had was 10k, that would be $261.96 based on todays prices, but a mix of 14k and 10k (for example if it were half 10k, half 14k) you should have gotten like $311.

I have 3.7 ounces that I just sent. I know how much I should get give or take a few dollars..IF they pay what their site says they pay. If they don't offer me what I think its worth, I am asking for an explanation/breakdown of whats what.
This is really stressful....

Huh...all this is food for thought. I have the wedding set from my previous marriage sitting around somewhere gathering dust. God knows I'm never going to want it again (I frankly never liked it that much in the first place...it's gold, and I only wear silver), and I doubt my son will want it, either.

FINALLY just got "the call" from USGOLDBUYERS
$416.00... I'll take it...

I would go ahead and send it but just expect a long delay.
They are like 3 or 4 days behind.
I sent mine last Wednesday just got the offer now.
Goldfellow seems quicker but you have to wait 3 or 4 days
to get their packet in the mail.

Did you leave a message?

Yes, a day or two ago and they haven't called me back. But the email had all the info I needed, so I took it to fedex Kinko's and sent it off just today. Now I'm finding out they are saying no new customers.
Surely they can't just cut it off like that. I know there has to be other packages in route...
they should have a big thing on their website saying that!

I have a question for you..did you request that they call you, or do they do it automatically? On the method of payment form under "special instructions" I stated to please call with offer..hopefully they will.

Me too! They do give you the price based on the day they received it.

They received my package early Tuesday morning and called me last night, 7pmish. They offered me $561 but to be honest it seems really low - I had 1.9 troy ounces of gold and 7 ounces of silver and they offered me $561.04. The silver was worth $71 and the gold the rest. Except for one small item the gold was 14K. Something doesn't add up to me, it would be worth more than what they are offering so I am stuck right now. I told them not to do anything and they said they would "put it in the vault."

Also, it's $15 to send back the things you don't want to sell / they don't want.

I'm thinking on it. Really, it was stuff I don't use. Still, I don't want to get majorly ripped off - just because I want to sell it. :confused3

I know how you feel. They called last night and offered me $411. All was 14k except for a few that were 10K. Local shop had offered $360 with out the 10K.

Goldfellow or USGoldbuyer?

I was going to ask the same thing!

Didn't you weigh the gold? If you did, you should of been able to figure out how much the offer should of been, and when it came, if it was off, you could of questioned it.

Hi All.

So, to answer the previous questions - I used US GoldBuyers. I figured they were closer to me (I'm on Long Island) and offering higher prices. I used the weekend to think over my offer, as I said, it seemed really low to me.

I called today and am now speaking to a manager to figure out what the deal is. I even told him about this site!

I had 1.9 troy ounces of gold. I know I had a couple of pieces of 10K but as far as I could see a lot of that was 14K stamps. He says they use a machine to measure purity and the purity of my gold, instead of being 52% (14K) was 47.3% and that dropped my price/pennyweight to $12.60!! That seems like a very huge drop to me, the price on their site that day was over $27 per pennyweight - then minus 10% for being less than 5 ounces would be at around $24/pennyweight. So half the price basically for this purity issue.

I also had four ounces of silver which came to $71.

He is going to relook over my package and go over everything, as I told him I would post the breakdown here so that people wouldn't be disappointed when they get their prices. I guess 14K doesn't actually mean 14K like we think it should :confused3

I'll post again when I hear back. :)

edit: If I remember I'll try to ask about packages already sent in. I'm sure they'll take them! They are extremely busy, for those who haven't checked their website, because there was a good write up on them in the NY Times and they are getting bombared with gold.

Just got my payout call from USgoldbuyers and I am getting $431.92....not bad for stuff that was just laying around.....

I weighed it on a postal scale and it was 1.4 ounces.....I would say about 95% of it was 14K....I have no idea if I received what people were originally getting when I mailed it (3/17) but I am satisfied.

I may just package up a few more things and send them into Goldfellows.

Ohhhh!! I can't to see what you post next!

I called USGB yesterday morning (around 9:00 am) - they answered and told me to click on the link and call fedex. So I did that and they picked up my package by Noon yesterday.

It is supposed to be delivered by 3:00pm today but I just checked the fedex website and it hasn't been delivered yet.

I am hoping that they are still accepting new customers!!!

Also, I was under the 'assumption' (haha - old joke ...but look now! :upsidedow)
that you get a call with an offer automatically!?!?!???
You Don't?
I saw an earlier post that she 'hopes they will honor her request to call her first'. Should I have written something in the special instruction section?

What if I don't like their offer? Can I still get my stuff back?

I'm feeling a bit queezy now ..

Seems like most of us have a lot of extra $$'s.

What can we come up with next. :cool1:
