Going nuts here... narrowing our choice down based on transportation...time is $$$ thing....to me, for $800 if the trans at POP stinks we can rent or cab it for way less than $800...but DH and DS think the monorail is the cooledt at CR, and having stayed there before, it IS great, but c'mon...$800 more great? Call me cheap, but we were lucky to be putting a trip together at all, then things got out of hand, we need a new car soon...I am more interested in putting $$$ into THAT transportation than 8 days at WDW!
I need opinioins and why you would choose either or!
BTW...the amount is based on 1 wing room CR vs 2 reg rooms at POP.

Thanks,

Pam

The only way I factor transportation into resort selection is to pay extra to get in the Epcot Cluster, usually S/D, next March BWV, but it's the difference in the amenities that trumps all. FWIW, I've always thought the AllStar bus schedule to be superior to POR or S/D and I'd assume PoP to be the same. I wouldn't pay for a Deluxe outside the BW area as we walk to half the WDW parks and the BoardWalk itself, and MK is our least favorite park, not saying we don't like it, it's just in 4th place among 4 great parks. Also, we've found 2 connecting rooms at a Value to be more comfortable than stuffing more people into a 'better' room.

They are right, the monorail is cool, so make an ADR at Chef Mickey's, sit back and watch the monorail go through to your heart's content. And keep your rooms at Pop! :teeth: If you hunt hard I bet you can find a rental car for under $200, so you save $600. Transportation issue solved. Well, you'd probably still bus it to the MK, but stil.

I love deluxes too, although I can never get excited about the garden wings at CR. Two rooms at Pop will be great, 2 bathrooms and all.

I've stayed at both, and love them both. But, that doesn't solve your problem does it? So....I love the CR. Love being able to walk to MK, ride one stop to the TTC and hop on the Epcot monorail line. I like the varied restaurant choices.
But, the buses were pretty good at POP. I had no problem eating at the food court for one meal a day...usually breakfast. Yes, the rooms are smaller but for just 2 or 3 of us it wasn't a big deal.

So.....I would opt for two rooms at POP. You didn't say how many were in your group, but I'm assuming it's at least 4 hence the two rooms at POP. It would certainly be nice to have two bathrooms, 2 tv's, more storage, 4 beds. Since we aren't huge pool people, the pools at both are fine with us.

If you are basing your choice on just the transportation issues, I would have no problem with the bus system at POP. If I were to book the CR it would be for different reasons. But, if I wanted to save $800, no way would I go with CR. POP would do very nicely.
