Would you rather spend 6 nights at the CBR or a split stay of 3 nights at the All Star Movies followed by 3 nights at the WL? They come out to about the same price. We are considering a stay in November 2021 with my DH and DS (2). It will be both of their first times to WDW, but they have been many times to DL. I really want my hubby to have a great time, especially since he's used to day trips at DL instead of weeklong resort Disney vacations. We love hotels, pools, and restaurants. My DH loves cabins so I think he would love the WL and my 2 year old would love the All Star Movies, but we would have to change hotels. I think my DH would also love the theming of the CBR because we met while working for Carnival Cruise Lines and spent a lot of time in the Caribbean. They have a great pool too and the skyline is a plus! I have just heard that it is really spread out so I'm not sure if that's an issue. What are your thoughts?

I'd personally do the 6 nights at CBR. While we like to do split stays, but we only do them when we have an 8, 9, or 10 night trip. We get comfortable after 3 days at the resort, and we'd hate to have to move to another resort just as we get comfortable, then get comfortable at the new resort and have to leave for home.
Of course, this is just how my family and I work and everyone has a different level of comfort.

Moving can be a little annoying after only 3 nights, but manageable for some traveling personalities.

I am generally a fan of trying different things when you can, especially with a little one where you’re still trying to figure out what sort of travel accommodations/vacations work best for your family. So I think I lean towards the split.

WL was our first Disney trip when our DS was 3 - to me it’s a great place for both little ones and parents.

Personally I would split stay in this circumstance and have MK be your transition day. That way your bags can be on the move while you are living it up at the happiest place on earth. There is nothing better than that boat dropping you off at WL. I find it to be the most relaxing place on property.

I would do the split stay. We usually take a Lyft to the new resort with our luggage and leave it at bell services, then continue on to the park. Does your son need to nap? That might be a problem if you can't get into your new room before 4pm (I think that's the technical checkin time).

We took my daughter when she was 2 or 3, with everything to see in Disney you know what she remembers? The hotels and the pools. I was so surprised by that!

Another vote for the split stay. My kids love all star movies and the pool at WL is great for a 2 year old. Both are fairly compact resorts which is another pro. Just make sure that you stay at ASMo 1st, then WL. If your stay is towards the end of Nov. WL will probably be decorated for Christmas which is breathtaking.

I agree.

With a 2-year old, I would not do a split stay. We've done splits during longer stays and, even then, the packing and unpacking gets old and takes up a lot of time. I would settle in and enjoy CBR.

split stay-make sure to put the WL on the second half. It will be like 2 mini vacations. Have Fun!

The bad thing about split stays is that you have to move. The good thing is that it lets your try resorts you are interested in without committing to a week or more. You can read 100s of reviews but once you stay even one night in a resort you will know if you would return or not.

My older daughter and I would rock the split stay, but it would stress my husband and younger daughter. It depends on your personalities. With a toddler, I would lean towards CBR.

Just remember that if you do a split stay, on the day you change resorts you may not have a room until late in the afternoon, a situation I personally dislike but apparently it doesn't bother many other people!

OP: I noticed in your post you referred to the cabins. Do you mean the cabins at Fort Wilderness? Fort Wilderness is not the same place as Wilderness Lodge, although they are in the same general area.

We prefer to spend our entire vacation at one location. You unpack and arrange things (i.e. snacks, toiletries, etc.) and then enjoy the vacation. At the end of the vacation we repack all of our dirty clothes and head for home.

That’s a non issue tbh, on moving day it’s easy enough to go to a park or hang out at the pool at either resort. Last month the day I switched from GF to YC I went to AK. Unless you’re staying DVC it’s rare for it to take until late afternoon to get a room IME. I got my room ready text while I was getting off Dinosaur at like 1pm. I only stayed until 4 because Disney was moving my bags over and I knew that would be later in the day.

I meant my DH likes cabins in general so he would like the look of the WL. I don't want to stay at the cabins at FW or WL.

Gotcha.

If you don't mind moving, I think you'd enjoy the split stay. I'm not a fan of it myself, but it is a great way to experience different resorts. And definitely have WL second.

Seems a little even lol! Maybe leaning a little towards the split stay. What does everyone think of the CBR?

Honestly never stayed, a little bigger than what I prefer but love me some skyliner. That alone would lead me to give it a try on a future trip.
