Would you do Epcot

So I'm wondering if it's actually worth doing EP on our next trip. Our original plan was 6 day basic tickets with 2 MK, 2 AK, 1 HS and 1 EP. However, we can get 5 day park hopper/water park passes for only a bit more than our 6 day basic tickets, and the kids REALLY want to go to Blizzard Beach. So... I'm toying with dropping EP altogether:

We won't be doing WS since it'll be summer and I'm not walking through a concrete oven again. The only rides the kids will do are: Frozen Ever After, Amigos Boat ride, Nemo, Living with the Land, Soaring. They'd probably enjoy the Advanced Training Lab. I mean, the things I listed they would definitely enjoy, and our daughter is a huge Frozen fan... but that said, since they've never done those rides, they won't know what they're missing, either.

So... would you drop EP altogether, or is it REALLY worth trying to squeeze in half a day somewhere?

We would opt to skip HS over Epcot but that is because my kids aren't really interested in much over there anymore.

I would suggest going for half a day. The Princess time in my girls' lives only lasted so long and I am thankful we indulged that aspect of their childhood during our first trip. If your daughter is a huge Frozen fan this trip could be extra magical for her. Maybe go from RD until lunch and then head over to BB?

I think it's ALWAYS ok to drop a park. Just because there are four of them doesn't mean you have to go to them all :) Sometimes it's better to cross one off IMO so you can enjoy the rest of your plans without trying to squeeze it in.

I totally agree with you about WS in the summer...nope nope nope, never again, not during the day anyway. Now if they opened it at 9 am, that would be great, I would go there first and take a walk around before the oven starts.

Anyway, I think skipping is fine! My kids have requested to never go there again LOL. They love the waterparks too and we always have to fit Universal in as well, so we always have more than enough to do without trying to shoehorn Epcot in.

We could pretty easily skip Epcot as well.

Another option if you are buying hoppers anyway would be to do a morning in Epcot and then hopping over to AK. That would cut your AK down to 1.5 days, but with it staying open so much later now that should still be plenty of time to do everything you want there.

I think it depends on when you go, if the crazy hype of the FEA and meet and greet has died down a bit it may be worth sacrificing on of your planned TSMM rides to give that magic to your DD. If your plan is still 2017 like your signature states, I would consider hopping there just for that. If it was this summer I would probably skip epcot for your family.

I would do 2 MK, 1 HS, 1 AK, 1 Epcot. We have done this before with 5 day tickets. Animal Kingdom before the night time entertainment was a half day park for us. While we are there Next week we will Rope drop one morning til Lunch. Then go back a different evening to see the new night time stuff. But every family is different. My son isn't much into shows or animal watching he really just wants to ride the rides at animal kingdom. We love Epoct especially the World showcase and have plans to park hop over there one afternoon and then two more evenings on our trip next week our son enjoys the kidcot stations at each country as well as the Agent P game. Again though every family is different when it comes to park likes, dislikes, and touring styles.

Ahhh.... for us AK was definitely a two-day park. We spent two days there from 9-2 and still didn't do all we wanted. But my kids are HUGE into animals and we really took our time with the trails, did Wilderness Explorers etc...

I loved WS, but not in the mid-day heat of summer :( Why they don't open it at 9 is beyond me.

I would do BB in the morning to early afternoon, and then the evening/night at Epcot. We did this with our water park/Park hopper tickets last year and it was great. A full day at the water park is a LOT. Leave mid afternoon and spend the rest of the day at Epcot. Book your FP+'s for the evening for Epcot and you're all set.

I would never skip Epcot, but everyone is different.

Do you need 2 full days at AK?

It varies on the age of your kids, but I would go 1 day at AK, HS and EP, 2 days at MK and split a day between MK/EP.

Everyone is different, but we have always loved Epcot and World Showcase.

Epcot might be worth it to see the new Frozen ride, especially since your daughter is a big fan. I always place a high value on the new stuff. Like other suggest, if you go for the hoppers, I would do a 1/2 day at Epcot (rope dropping the new Frozen ride). Then set your 3 FPs for later in the day at park #2 (HS or AK).

Enjoy your planning.

If you do decide to split a day between the Studios and Epcot, the boat commute is quite pleasant.

I can't imagine planning 2 AK days and 0 Epcot days, but then again, my family can spend hours in the Living Seas aquarium. Different kind of animals, but it's the same difference. :)

Last time we spent 2 dayss, from 9-2 and still didn't see/do all we wanted. But my kids are HUGE into Animals. We really took our time on the trails, they did Wilderness Explorers etc... Plus it's summer (aka crowded and slow goin'). I really loved WS, but it was just too frigging hot in the heat of summer. I wouldn't mind doing an evening in the WS though. It's not so much that I have anything against EP, the 5 rides I listed, I know they'd love, and I'm sure we could spend an hour at the Seas, for sure. *sigh*... decisions, decisions

Our last trip we decided to do a water park and it was the surprise hit. Kids wanted to go back there more than another park.

Not sure how old your kids are, but mine are 10 and 7 and strong swimmers, and Typhoon Lagoon was perfect for them. If you get there close to opening and stay for 4-5 hours, there's still plenty of time to get changed and relax a bit and then do an evening at a park.

We found plenty to do at HS--especially if one kid is a star wars fan.

I totally agree with the other poster who said it's totally fine to skip a park.

On a personal level, EPCOT was not all that fun for us. Next time we go we are opting to skip Epcot and hit MK and AK twice each. It's not bad, but the other parks, to us, have a lot more to offer.
