I need a minivan for 12 night stay. I can get an Alamo pre-pay rate of $437 total but I don't want to pre-pay this if it seems like it is too high. I have played with rates and codes and it is the lowest but I've never rented a car before so it's hard to judge if the rate is good.
I would wait. I'm getting a minvan for 8 days for $221.86 (inc. taxes, etc.) this month. Almost everytime I check the rates, they've fallen. It's my understanding if you prepay you can't modify ressie if rates fall. Last Sept. I got a minivan (from Alamo) for 8 days for just under $160(complete). Once again, the rates kept fallling. I actually rebooked me ressie twice on the day before going! It dropped to the low of $160 just hours after I had changed it to about $190. My first ressie was for over $300. I've found the best rates booking throught the Entertainment book-do you have one?
Also, if you've never rented from Alamo in Orlando, you'll love it! You get to pick out your van from all the minivan (7 passenger) in the parking structure. The last 3 times we've done this, we've gotten a really nice one with remote control side door and a DVD player. The DVD player accepts "Plug and Plays" which keep my DD6 entertained. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions-have a great trip!
