My niece's graduation party was Saturday.

About 2 weeks ago, my sister emailed to ask whether we were coming.

Ooops... she had forgotten to send us an invitation.

No harm, no foul. My husband and son were working. My daughters and I went and had a lovely time.

Not everything is a big deal. She wasn't mad that I hadn't RSVP'd or that part of my family was unable to attend, and I didn't feel slighted that she hadn't remembered to send the invitation.

She's family. She's allowed to be human.

Within my close family, we never mind when one relative RSVPs through another family member. We're pretty laid back that way. Maybe your brother knew that your sister would make sure his message was passed along? And, as another poster said, you are obviously very passionate about having everyone come, so maybe he just wanted to avoid a confrontation.

I hope you've touched base with him to ask him if he can make it . Be sure to update us! I hate when someone starts a thread and leaves the responders hanging, lol.

I don't know if I'd be upset or not.
Graduation parties aren't a big thing in our area. Neither of my kids had one. We went to the beach for week after each of them graduated. Each of them was invited to a party that they had to miss because of that. They did let their friend's know they couldn't attend when asked (no actual invitation).

The city we live in, the schools, businesses, and community groups put together an all-night grad party for all nine high schools on the Friday after all the ceremonies are over. That is the place that a lot of kids expect to celebrate.

You can choose to be upset or you can choose to enjoy the party and be happy to see him some other time.
