Would it be weird if

In the grand scheme of life, somebody swapping their bun is one of the less odd things most people will see during a day at WDW, so if it will truly make you happy and will improve your gustatory experience, why not do it? In other words, I totally agree with those who say that they wouldn't notice, and wouldn't think anything of it if they did.

If I saw you switchin out yer bun, I'd say "that's a little weird", THEN I'd look at my burger bun and say, "what do they know that I don't?" THEN...I'd have to come over and borrow a bun. :rotfl: Now go and enjoy your trip!:thumbsup2

Since I don't even like the actual burgers at Disney, I wouldn't be likely to bring my own bun, but if you like them, then do it.

We bring our own food all the time.

Yes I'd say it is weird. Plus who the heck is going to carry a bun around all day at Disney? the idea is to carry as little as possible not bring the kitchen sink or in this case the bread drawer.

It is one burger, deal.

You could always bring the burger and bun into a bathroom stall and do the switch there if you're that concerned about someone seeing you.

Ha ha! No thanks, being a nurse, I know all to well the germs that lurk in the bathroom...I had considered the squishing issue, I think I'll put it in a disposable tupperwear or something...but the more I think about it, the more I'm like, it is my vacation, I don't care if people think I'm weird, I'm going to enjoy that burger darn it!:woohoo: I don't get to eat them when I'm being good on my non-vacation diet. I'm just tickled pink about being able to eat a normal burger, not one made of turkey.:goodvibes Thanks guys!

I don't think bringing your own food to restaurants at the parks is weird. I like to bring my own booze. MK is woefully lacking in the hootch department and the prices in the other parks is crazy high!

Cheers, or down the hatch!

Max

popcorn:: This should be good.

By the way there's nothing wrong with Disney Buns, they are your average white flour bun! :bored:

I know if I saw you with a nice onion roll, but didn't see you make the switch, I'd have to yell at my DW for not getting me the onion roll! :lmao:

OP is, evidently. ;)

I'll be honest, OP. I laughed at this thread because it sounds like such a trivial thing, but I think you should go for it if it will make your vacation happier. A burger bun isn't that much additional weight as long as you can keep it fresh and from getting smashed!

Like other posters, if I saw it, I'd just assume you had a food allergy.

Hmmm, let's see, which item do you think WDW Security would have an issue with, an onion roll or a flask of Tequila? :scratchin:lmao:

Disney switched to wheat hamburger and hot dog buns a while back. It's not brought up that often anymore b/c its been long enough that for the most part people have quit complaining about it. It is no longer a shock or a new thing.

I wouldn't say it's that weird. Not any weirder than sitting on the curb eating corn out of a can ;)

this^^ i see daily. Don't worry, i personally think its a good idea because i have to agree, the buns are just edible at best.

and having your own booze might make you popular with some people you dont want to hang out with.

I know! it is just I spend time the night before going over what I am taking and trying to get rid of anything I possibly can and the thought of carrying a bun and a container for 12 hours just seems so crazy to me. :confused3

However it is a free country and as long as the OP isn't asking me to carry it then she is welcome to go for it, but it still seems very weird to me.

Now, that's funny!

I have strange food issues, so I say, do what makes you happy!! :goodvibes

I wouldn't notice or care I tend to not people watch people eating kinda gross more like to people watch people in the parks etc.
That being said now this is just me I wouldn't want to bother going through the effort and Id just not order burgers if i didn't like the bun. Though I must say I enjoyed the bun at WDW no worse than ones i use at home (I buy the cheapest bun) But really just order the chicken nuggets its not worth the hassle of the bun lol but again like everyone said if it makes you happy.. DO IT lol

OP, most people would not really notice you doing this. You are not a freak. :confused3

They're not that bad :rotfl:. But I do agree that you should do what makes you happy. Its really nobody's business if you choose to bring your own bun. It wouldn't be worth the hassle to me - I love the free dining because we don't have to bother packing snacks. But its your vacation, and you should make it work for you :goodvibes. Have fun!
