Would it be weird if

I've heard that the hamburger buns at WDW are so-so at best. Would it be weird if I packed my own hamburger bun and switched them out once I got my burger? I am a huge fan of the onion roll, it makes my burger, but I don't want to be 'that' person if it's going to be weird.:scared1: We only plan on having burgers twice or so on a 10 day vacation.

Thanks!

I think if it will make your vacation more enjoyable then knock yourself out. Actually not a bad idea if you ask me.

Do whatever floats your boat but the logistics of carrying around hamburger buns all day may not work in your favor. If you find them that detestable, order something else would be my suggestion, but give them a try, we usually never like wheat buns but enjoy the ones at WDW.

Sounds ok to me, but I'd be worried about squishing the buns if I had to carry them around. But, maybe they're for at the resort and not the parks. Either way, enjoy your burgers and have a great time!

I'll just go ahead and say it - its a little weird. If you need your own bun to be happy though, go for it. :rotfl2:

That is actually a good idea, considering how terrible the buns are at Disney!!

It's no weirder than half the stuff people do at WDW. :rolleyes1
Are you talking about counter service? If that's the case, just ask for the burger with no bun. If it's table service, ask if there are bun options. They might have your onion rolls.

Don't worry, that's not particularly weird. ;)

BTW, you could carry a bun in one of those semi-disposible GLAD plastic bowls with a top. It wouldn't get crushed that way.

OK, everyone here is being very nice and supportive, and I frankly don't care if you bring your own buns....do I think it's weird...yeah, it's a little out of the ordinary to care about the bun on your burger enough to bring your own to a theme park...but that wasn't your question...
You specifically are worried about being "that guy"...if some teenagers catch you going into your bag and pulling out your own buns and switching them..to them you will be "that weird guy". If that's more important to you than which bun you eat your burger in, I'd say skip it. But, if I knew it would make me much happier to have an onion bun for my burger, I really wouldn't care if someone else thought I was weird...

If I saw you switching out buns, I would just assume that you had a dietary issue that required a special bread - gluten free or the such. I would be more likely to admire your dedication to your diet than assume you were "that guy."

I say go for it!

I wouldn't say it's that weird. Not any weirder than sitting on the curb eating corn out of a can ;)

First of all :rotfl2:
I have some crazy food quirks myself.
I gotta agree with the special diet comment. I have two kids with severe food allergies and if I saw you my first and only thought would be... they have a food allergy. Then I would forget it. No biggie

Yes, it's a little odd, but not a bad idea! If I hadn't already saw this and witnessed you changing the bun, I might post here with a "you'll never guess what I saw" followed by a "why didn't I think of that?" :goodvibes

You could always bring the burger and bun into a bathroom stall and do the switch there if you're that concerned about someone seeing you.

Oh come on, who seriously watches what other people do with their food?
I'm too busy stuffing my cake hole. :cake::laughing:

Especially with a burger, don't most people sort of disassemble them to put condiments on? :confused3

I don't think bringing your own food to restaurants at the parks is weird. I like to bring my own booze. MK is woefully lacking in the hootch department and the prices in the other parks is crazy high!

Cheers, or down the hatch!
