Would I get any benefit out of Disney Visa card?

Two places it didn't work were Trail's End and Skipper Canteen. The servers told me I couldn't do it. If I had the rules handy, I'm sure I could have discussed it with a manager, but I didn't want to let it "ruin" my visit. We had good servers both times, and it just wasn't worth it. I used the actual credit card instead, got the discount, and used my reward $ elsewhere.

Now that I think about it, it did work just fine at World of Disney.

Just ate at Trails End two weeks ago and used our rewards card to pay, and our AP's to get our 20% off. There were no questions. I would have gone to Guest Services with my bill and requested my 'percent' off (10% with chg. card). A CM was very badly informed! :confused3 We do this every visit!

I have it for the 6 months interest-free on Disney vacation packages and use the rewards toward a meal or two during my trip.

How does this work? We are traveling in March and I recently signed on for the $200 bonus. I like the idea of waiting until my income taxes comes to pay it off. Do you have to call the Chase and a specifically tell them you are doing this? We are only staying on site one night and we will have a 5 day pass, probably no dining plan for the night. Would my 0% be on my one night stay and tickets?

I think they did away with the debit version. I used to have all 3 (the debit, the regular and the platinum) and I got rid of the debit...I think maybe because they stopped offering rewards? I honestly don't remember exactly now but it was a big enough change for me to cancel it.

Chase still offers the debit cards. You get all the in park perks, just no rewards. I got tired of Chase offering money to switch that I finally opened an account. We needed a local bank anyway. Course, I got $200 and the day after I signed up I got a $300 offer in the mail....:sad2:

I too have this card and enrolled in the 4% utilities and insurance. But my question is, does car insurance count on the insurance? For some reason when I read it my mind jumped to just home owners insurance. Thanks!

If you book a package (room and tickets) it will be automatically coded on your statement for the 0% for 6 months.

I am getting the extra 3% on my car insurance (Mapfre); not a big name like Allstate.

I have a Disney Visa and only use it for the discounts. During our trip this month I used it to get 15% off our Keys to the Kingdom tour and 10% off our purchase at Mouse Gears.

What MrPTato said.

Your statement will show the charges that qualify for the promotion.
Your $200 deposit has 6 months;
balance will have 6 months from when you pay it.
(Has to be a package - no room only)

Yes, indeed it is WORTH it! Our last trip, I used all the Disney rewards for the Star Wars dessert party and the Mickey's not so scary halloween party tickets and the memory maker and had plenty left over for 80% of our WDW food. I pay the small annual fee for the 2 percent for restaurants, supermarkets and gas. For us, the rewards add up quickly. AND I PAY MY BILL IN FULL every month! Like others said, for a few more months, all the utilities and insurance is now 4% back. Good!

In just over 2.5 years of using the credit card for only groceries, gas and restaurants, we have just under $1300 in rewards to use for our upcoming trip in August. That, with free dining, is saving us a ton. We pay off the credit card every month, so we are not paying the interest fees. Also, you get back 2% if you pay your Disney Hotel, tickets, packages, etc. with the credit card. So for a $5000 vacation, you get $100 right away. You can use the credit card for paying your bills every month too, but you only get 1% on that stuff. Still might be worth it.

I didn't skim back through, but thought of this too after my post.

Who wouldn't want to see a pretty Disney card in their wallet to make them think about the happiest place on earth! Love looking at my bright red card with the mouse silhouette and the pixie dust.

I have the Yoda card and I get comments on it all the time. People love it :D

I have Tinker Bell and she truly is fun to use. I get so excited about our upcoming trip. Plus just this afternoon I booked Tickets for my kids and I to see Lion King in November before the tickets opened to the general public which allowed us to secure some great seats!

I don't know why we haven't switched yet, but my current card of choice is an Amex that gets us hotel points. It was useful years ago, but now is nearly useless as the only person who stays in hotels is me when I go racing.

We got an offer in the mail yesterday for the Disney Visa. But I'm not sure it'd be worth it for us. We have a trip coming up...we leave 5 weeks from today. We already have 7 days passes from UT, but will be converting them to APs as soon as we get there. So we wouldn't really get anything out of the rewards that we could use toward buying tickets. We always stay off site and very rarely eat in the restaurants. For example, our upcoming trip is 17 park days, and I'd guess that we'll eat in a restaurant maybe 4 or 5 times at the most (we have one reservation at BoG, DW and I will go out to dinner once, and maybe let the kids order from QS a couple times).

So I'm not sure if we'd get a lot of use/benefits out of the card. What do you guys who have them use them for most? How much value per year would you estimate you get out of it?

I've been able to pay for entire vacations due to my Disney rewards. I charge nearly everything and pay it off when due. We go to WDW at least annually, though, so it pays for me to do that.

I have other CCs that either pay no rewards or they do gift cards. I'm at Universal Orlando this week, so I cashed those in to use for this trip.

In your case, it doesn't sound like the Chase Disney card is the best rewards program for you.

My wife has Cinderella castle that is no longer offered so if she lost the card, or when it is time for a new expiration date, she won't get the card and she will be very sad. I think it will default to the Disneyland castle. I think at that point she would switch to Tinker Bell.

I have Darth Vader on mine, the wife has C3PO and R2D2 on hers.

We just got back from Disney last week. We had $608 in Reward Dollars that we used. We also use the credit card for most things, and pay it off monthly. We do have the Premium one with a $50 annual fee, but we more than make up for that in the extra 1% on gas, grocery, and restaurant purchases during the year.

Wish the extra bonus on utilities had come a week earlier. I just paid my car insurance last week...and I pay 6 months at a time.

I just got the Disney Visa last month. Is there a way to enroll in the utilities & insurance bonus? I have been looking on the Chase site & cannot figure it out - not sure if it is an invite Chase sent to select card members or if it is an option for anyone.
