WORST DISNEY DINING EXPERIENCE

Our one and only visit to BOG, last Aug, we had to wait in the rain for probably 15 minutes past our ADR time and then crammed inside waiting for an additional 25 minutes. We were then rushed off to our seats and dumped...in the stupid music box room (like the back room at WCC). It was bright in there and only a few tables were in use. Our waiter took about 15 minutes to show up and by then we knew what we wanted so he just quickly took our order. Then we waited for our food, never got drink refills, waited some more to order dessert and then waited again to get our bill...long slow meal with minimal service from our waiter. Very disappointing but we will go back. The food was good and some of our fave places have given us a bad meal/service (Ohana, I am looking at you) so we want to try it again.

No, making people wait for 45 minutes total, yelling in a rude voice about them wanting another table and huffing and stomping are not part of the schtick. No way. Now, giving you a million bottles of ketchup is....totally different.

I'm in no way trying to defend
WCC, but the way understood it was they waited 25mins, didn't like the table , so had to wait an additional 20 to get a better table -sorry, but I don't fault the restaurant for that. Someone else took that bad table right after them -no table(or time for that matter) is guaranteed.

I agree. We ALL want THE best tables but not everyone can get them...kids in tow or not (and most families have kids with them...it's Disney).

THE BIERGARTEN....NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
OK...grrrrr. MONTHS later I am STILL upset about this.
We had dinner reservations at Biergarten for 6:30 (I was excited - we went here for lunch YEARS ago and it was so fun).
We got there a few minutes early and got in the line to check in (there was quite a line - just for check in and many people AROUND the entrance just waiting after checking in). It was a two nights before the Princess Half Marathon and the weather men later touted it as the coldest night in Florida in a LONG time.
We waited, and waited, and waited. My party said, "Sheeesh. Let's GO!" But I insisted that this place was great! We waited nearly two hours outside in the cold...surrounded by others who (like us) would occasionally stare in the windows at the food and people just SITTING. If anyone needed to go inside to warm up or go to the bathroom they were whisked right back out and reprimanded that they mustn't come inside. The check in staff was very rude and of no help -once you were checked in, you didn't matter a pinch of snuff to them.
They finally let us in to our table at 8:20 with absolutely no apologies or comments about being sorry for the wait. The dance floor was filled with noisy -UNSUPERVISED children whose parents were just sitting at cleared tables; just chatting. The band was ending (I figured they were taking a break), and then we realized that they were putting their instruments away for the night. Are you KIDDING ME????? There were people STILL waiting outside and the band was DONE??? at 8:30????
Even though the food had been under heat lamps (for goodness knows how long), it was cold, tough, and flavorless. How can sauerkraut be flavorless? I don't know - but they succeeded in cooking the heck out of it and then having it just sit.
The waitress was nice and apologized...but finally admitted that this is a regular problem with the Biergarten (and ESPECIALLY in inclement weather); that people come in and just STAY. They send their kids to the dance floor (and use it as babysitting) as hungry people wait and wait outside. They sit for - sometimes - hours (and I imagine only tip as if they were in and out). She admitted that the management just doesn't want to upset anyone - so they don't set a dinner-time limit on folks and the staff has to deal with more and more angry customers (and kids running back and forth from tables to the dance floor) as the night goes on. (I know that this waitress would have been fired for telling us the truth - but you could tell it had been a tough night and she was totally frazzled. She HAD held her tongue and gave it the old-company-try for quite a while...yet we seemed angry-but nice and she must have needed someone to vent to).
IT WAS TERRIBLE!! The WORST experience EVER at DISNEY!!! I have since read similar reviews for the Biergarten with suggestions to not bother with reservations after 6pm. WHAT a shame! This used to be a nice place. I will NEVER go back again - for ANY reason!!

"I'll never go back again!" Wow, sounds a little dramatic , doesn't it. How does having a bad experience at a restaurant or any other place of business warrant not going back ever again? Give a place a chance. Maybe the bad time at that place was unusual. Millions of people, I would dare say have probably had good experiences at those places.

If there were only a few places to choose from at Disney - sure you might go to a few *Clunkers* again. but given the wonderful choices...Why waste money on bad experiences?

Just got back from WDW had a great time. All dining was great expect Spiltsville. Never again! Half way through eating my burger I noticed a squashed fly on the bottom of the bun. My wife horrified called for the server, then the manager. Their attitude was oh yes there are flies in Florida what's your issue. Well we have dined in Florida for 18 years on and off property never have I seen this before! Plus my lettuce was brown at the edges showing age. Their hygene no thanks.

Shant return. Yes things happen but it is the chefs job to check all food leaving the kitchen. This fly was large!

Just came home from our first trio to WDW, enjoyed BOG dinner, Kona BF, Star Wars dining (SciFi, H&V, Rebel Hangar). We had an issue with Via Napoli as they were telling walk-ups it was a 20 minute wait and we had been waiting 25 minutes for our ADR (2 adults, 2 kids). The hostess really didn't have an explanation except that they must already have "my slip" and are about to set our table. Well, it was clear that they had lost it because the seater didn't even have our names and just took us to a table. Regardless, after a pitcher of Sangria and a prosciutto & melon pizza all was forgiven. Cinderella's Royal Table was just so, so disappointing. Between the server joking about the Made in China wand/sword and the princesses who didn't want to be there, I really regret making it our final night's dinner. The food was just OK, but I much preferred BOG. I mean at the end we were like "That's it?"

Personally, our worst experience has been Hollywood and Vine for dinner. Food was terrible, atmosphere was so boring.

I don't want to argue with anybody but, I have yet to come across any food at Walt Disney World that I would consider terrible. How was the food terrible. I have seen a lot of comments about food being terrible or horrible or gross. I am not naïve. I do understand that WDW is not perfect. I have been to many restaurants at WDW over many years. Somehow, I guess we have always gotten to the restaurants at the right time. About Hollywood and Vine, I like buffets and I have always enjoyed the food there.

You dont want to argue, yet you continue to assert that You had great meals at XYZ restaurant as if it had any bearing on somebody else's poor experience there.

Their poor experience does not negate your good one and vice versa. I had a burned steak at Sci-fi once...inedibly burnt. doesnt mean they only serve burnt steaks. Ive been back a few times and had lovely meals since.

Just deal with the fact that sometimes Disney drops the ball At their dining establishments...and more often they do a great job.

Like I said, I don't want to argue. I was just wondering how the food was terrible. It is Ok for someone to wonder about something.

Overcooked, undercooked, served cold, poorly seasoned, there are lots of ways that food can be bad.

You don't seem to be willing to accept that bad meals happen.

Okay...
We thought the food tasted like bland, standard cafeteria food that was made in MASS quantity that had no life, flavor, personality, or passion.

We had that experience at both Cape May dinner and Crystal Palace breakfast. I wonder if that is a function of the fact that those places are even more about moving people in and out than some of the table service places like Chefs de France or the signatures?

I'm sure that's what it is. It makes sense and it's understandable!

We've had wonderful dining experiences at non-buffet restaurants.

For me - Be Our Guest was over-all...ok.
The place is beautiful and themed perfectly (the snow falling outside the window? does it get better than THAT?). The place is not quiet; I felt like I was having dinner in a bus station. Meeting and having an instant/private character meet/picture spot with the Beast as we left was unexpected, a wonderful touch, and a lasting memory.
SOME of the staff was great. There was this fantastic waiter who kept walking by our table with couple after family and would point out the desserts in the cart stationed next to us. He would tell them, "and here are our desserts. They are delicious. I should know, I was one of the dishes." We would laugh every time he did it. In fact, we stopped him once on one of his runs to get a new couple and told him what a great job he was doing. Other staff, like our waiter were efficient - but just ok.
The food? Meh. It was average. We had had some fantastic food that week, and Be Our Guest was mid-range (that included the grey stuff which we were SO excited just to try).
But I think part of the problem is the hype. Could ANYTHING match the hype? Just standing on the bridge in anticipation and glory that we actually snagged a reservation and were getting in was more amazing than it should have been.

All in all, I'd go again - but if I couldn't, I wouldn't feel disappointed.

I would list BOG as a one-time event. It is worth going just to see the place and we enjoyed our meal there, but I wouldn't go back. Nothing was bad. Place is beautiful, food was fine, service was good. I just see no reason to ever do it again given the cost.
