WOO HOO Snow day tomorrow!

I laughed out loud at your post!

(Tongue firmly in cheek...) It is customary - generally in areas that don't get much snow - to go to the grocery store and buy eggs, milk and bread when a snow storm is predicted. :rotfl: Why?

And what is REALLY funny ........ when I was in high school, I worked in a grocery store ( I am from Western PA). When it snowed, our store had a run on milk, bread .... and TOILET PAPER! Go figure!:rotfl2:

Hoping for a snow day tomorrow!!!
I literally slid in sideways to the library/high school driveway :scared1:
DH came home an hour early.
They are expecting 3-5 more inches tonight, 5-8" tomorrow, 2-4" tomorrow night, and another 4-6" Saturday morning. ACK!
Luckily we have a good supply of hot chocolate in the house! :coffee:

well....since you asked....I have this new recipe for Blueberry French Toast Bake and you make it and leave it in the fridge all night -- then bake it in the morning. And as soon as I saw that school was cancelled for tomorrow, YES, I MADE FRENCH TOAST! ha ha. It's one morning I know we will all be together for breakfast and the recipe looked yummy! (now watch it not be all that great....i have high hopes!)

This french toast sounds good. Would you mind sharing the recipe?;) How did it turn out for you today?

They called off school for tomorrow by 4 today. This will be day #3 in a row added to the previous 3 from December. The news says our district has "over 5 days built into the calendar" so not sure if we are at a make-up point or not.

I bundled up and ventured to the driveway to look for the paper around 11 this morning and it was bitterly cold with the wind. I could barely breath! Supposed to be even colder tomorrow. I think calling off school is a good call!

Well, we had school today. I'd say we got ~5" of snow that started around 5am and went until about 2pm. Now it's blowing like crazy outside. My office did close at 12:30pm so that was nice!

Tomorrow our schools have a 2 hour delay. I work from home on Fridays. Whew!

I actually attend UNO! DH & I are getting our Media Specialist Endorsement (re:librarian). We both have our provisional certificate & I was lucky enough to get a media job last fall (tho in 2 different buildings). We attend class once/month on Fri/Sat or Sun and do everything else online. Our teacher for this course is having us read 3 short pieces & write 3 paragraphs on the readings, so nothing big.
We met w/ the head of the program last night & I thought I had 2 1/2 years to go; but found out my 6 grad hours of math will count as my electives! SO I will be done in a year! (DH is bummed...he will still have to do those 6 hrs). Only 9 more hours would get me my masters...but we are both on the "masters" pay level (you can get it for BA+36 grad hrs)...so we would have to take 21 MORE hours to jump up a pay level...we both plan to retire at 55, so DH has NO interest (only 8 more years for him) and I know I don't want to do any admin work...so not real incentive to get that masters except to say "I did it"--frankly I don't think that is worth the cost/effort/headache of 9 more hours. (hey, I will have done 60 hrs of grad work since college when all is said and done--I've done my time!)
No snow announcement yet in here or Omaha...Bellevue has cancelled.
Noticed C. Bluffs doesn't even schedule snow days in! They have ALREADY lengthened the year a week.

Congrats, that's awesome!! I bet that feels soo good to know you'll be done sooner than you thought!

I'm familiar w/that program & looked into it when I was researching heading back to school. Since my original degree is a BA in Psych, it would have taken too long to get my elem cert & the media endt. before I could start working. I'm at CU because more credits transferred & I'll get my MA with the elem cert since I have no other credits, it seemed the way to go. This time next year I'll start my semester of student teaching.

Another snow day for us tomorrow too. I finally have to leave the house tomorrow because DS has an eye exam. It's a shame to have all this snow & not be able to really play outside. The kids have been good but I can tell DS really needs to burn off some energy!

And of course the paper complains about Weds. being cancelled. Damned if they do and damned if they don't...I much prefer the "err on the side of caution" view this gal takes over the "we only close if NO ONE can get there" the guy before had.
Our first class this semester is tonight...luckily the head of the program & the instructor are both from Lincoln. We are having class IN LINCOLN tonight...and she is doing a makeup class in Omaha Weds. night. I am glad. The news didn't show the roads being too good anywhere.
Unfortunately I do have to get out in the next hour...NOT looking forward to it.

I am home for a snow day to. I do before and after care for the school my boss call and said that she only had two kids in the whole building and she calling the parents to come pick them up.
