Wonder - November 9, 2013 - Bahamas from Galveston

Went from 0 to zoom last night and booked this cruise. Zero because of major disappointment that the 2014 double-dip cruise I had booked for my 70th birthday was rescheduled (essentially cancelled), and then saw the notice that this one was available and a solo booking for me going to CC and Nassau (and Key West), that would include my b'day this year would not cost much more except for airfare to Houston (which I got a fairly good price on too) -- so back in a happy place and joining you all! I have cruised before but not on DCL and been wanting to, and after I booked 2014 had looked at maybe also going sooner because that seemed like a long time to wait. So I guess it's all worked out. Now I can get excited all over again about going sooner. I had even started buying a few outfits for the trip and renewed my passport, so easy-peasy (just a little more hit to my travel budget this year that I hadn't been planning on, but at my age, why wait?) Sorry to run on so -- needed to vent about this -- it was a bit of teary time last night. I just got home a week ago from a month in FL, mostly at WDW that was a wonderful trip -- was definitely not planning on more Disney this year -- but hey -- no such thing as too much, eh?

Have you had it noted on your reservation that you will be celebrating your birthday? I have only cruised once-on the Disney Magic last year for my 53rd birthday. I'm not sure if the other cruise lines do this or not, but Disney gave me a birthday button, a small birthday cake, and sang Happy Birthday to me on my birthday. I will be sailing again this year on my birthday-this cruise; and next year for my birthday on the Fantasy. I believe it's one of the best ways to celebrate a birthday!

Hi Nanny2004 -- yes I did -- I knew about that from booking the one for next year (that I may end up cancelling since it got rescheduled). I spent a birthday at Cali Grill one year and they put glitter confetti on my table and gave me a wonderful piece of chocolate cake (they didn't sing, tho -- not the proper atmosphere up there). Mine's the 15th, when's yours?

Mine's the 14th. One of the stateroom hosts on the Magic last year (he was assigned to the rooms just past mine) had a birthday on the 15th. It was so nice to be able to wish him a Happy Birthday after all the birthday wishes that I had received on my birthday.

My husband had his birthday on the Dream two years ago and he got all of the above as well as a birthday card signed by the captains and then another card signed by our waiters and hosts :) Very cool things they do to make you feel extra special on your big day!! :woohoo:

I did not receive a booklet. Is that only when have PIF?
Thanks!

I dont believe so. I havent PIF yet and got the planning guide booklet thing. But I booked ages ago. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Is the booklet thing like a pamphlet in a thick blue holder? That's the only thing I have received.

That is it! My description probably wasnt the best. I got super excited when we got ours.

Wow, I have been off the board for awhile and look how it's grown!

We are Dave and Sherry This will be our fifth Disney Cruise. We live in Houston and love to sail out of Galveston. We are not bringing any of the grandkids with us this trip, but have done so before and loved it.

I will send a message to join the Fe. Love it. :cool1: Sherry

Does it have a list of the tours available in Nassau, "Port Adventures"? I tried to find them on line, and the circle just kept going round and round. I haven't paid in full yet having just booked a few days ago. Like most of Disney's websites, the DCL site is not as helpful as it might/needs to be.

Or does someone know where the tours are listed? I'm planning to be one of the "suckers" who uses one of the cruise-sponsored trip to Atlantis, rather than fending for myself. But I don't know what all they offer.

Hello everyone! We just finished cruising on the Wonder last month from LA to Vancouver and had a blast! Looking forward to this cruise now :) We are moving to Dallas next month, so I should take advantage of the Disney Cruise being so close

It will be myself (Misty), my little sister (Marissa - 10), and my DS (Alex - 4)

This will be my first time to cruise with two kids by myself, but hopefully all will work out. My DH has to work, so he won't be able to join us.:(

Looking forward to meeting everyone and we definitely want to participate in the FE.

I guess I need to check in more often. :rotfl2: I am missing out on all the fun!
Does anyone know if there has been a facebook group created for this cruise? One person created one for our last cruise and that's how everyone kept in contact, it seemed to work out well. Just curious if anyone has started that in this group?
