Well, Finally got my husband on board and booked the Nov 9 cruise!!! I can't wait!!! This is our First Cruise and it will be myself, my DH, and my DD (7) going. My husband is asking for me to keep it a secret from our DD for a while, so I am glad I get to share my excitement with you guys! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and love all the advice!

We couldn't keep it a secret lol that would have been too hard! Since this is our first Disney cruise we looked up You Tube clips of the ship, the excursions, and Castaway Cay that way our DD would know a little of what to expect and so she wouldn't be so overwhelmed. We have had a lot of fun looking at people's videos and it has made her even more excited knowing that we will be going on a Disney cruise

It's been a few years since my last cruise, and my first on DCL; I've really been enjoying the tips on the Facebook page -- thanks for those. And the reminder to check on YouTube about the ship -- hadn't yet thought to do that. I booked this kind of on short notice when the one I had planned for next year got moved to a different schedule away from my birthday, so am playing catch up to get ready this year. Since I recently lost weight, it's been fun buying a few new dressier outfits (I think I bought more than I can actually wear in one trip, tho!).

This is our first cruise, so I am reading the Disboard every spare moment! Getting a huge wealth of knowledge! We booked a Cat 7A GTY as a lot of others seemed to have on this thread. I have learned there is a chance of an upgrade, which I am completely happy with the 7A navigators veranda. BUT did not think about the fact that I may get an accessible stateroom, with no split bath and no tub. (That may be difficult with a child). Is this correct? And does anyone else have these concerns?

DH and I booked this cruise, but have been going back and forth as to whether we'd rather keep the cruise or go to WDW. I think we've finally decided that we're cruising! I'm super excited as this will be our first cruise!

Altho it's from a recent Alaska cruise, this trip report has lots of helpful stuff to look at, menus, navigators, videos (of course ours will be a lot different -- but this seems helpful to me, some things will be similar).

On the last two cruises we went on the initial meet was on embarkation day at 3 p.m. at Promenade Lounge. The area is big enough for the kids to run around and the adults still to talk. On the cruise we just got back from they also had an adult meet later in the trip. I didn't participate, but someone also arranged a meet at Palo Brunch in the back room for group to do. A lot of people seemed to enjoy that as well.
