Wonder getting REPO'ed to Vancouver!: May 20th, 2013 Official Thread!

I read another thread about cool drinks to have on board - most mentioned the caribbean cruises. Any suggestions for the Wonder and our cruise? Also, ideas on costs for cocktails? I have read how much the smoothies are (in general)

How are the spa treatments on board, are they worth the $ or just so so? I am debating on a spa day instead of hanging out in SF or something. We use to live outside of SF, so visiting 2 days in a row may be a bit much..

Yes I'm renting from Alamo in Canada Place and driving down to Seattle and overnighting there, and catching the Amtrak Coast Starlight to return to Los Angeles where I live. Going to be a great trip I can tell!

I believe the smoothies in the dining rooms are around 4 $

Here's a tip for smoothies: They serve free yogurt/fruit smoothies at goofy's galley by the pool in the morning. They run out pretty early and the flavors are super limited. I've gone at 8am before and they didn't have any but there was a whole tray at 7:30am. The flavors I saw were some kind of yogurt blend that was mostly with papaya fruit and one with guava...basically the two fruits I dislike but other people liked them!

We have also rented a car from Alamo to drive into Seattle for a day or so.
If any one is interested call Alamo ASAP, they told me they only have a limited number of cars that go one way.

I agree it is going to be awesome!!!!:thumbsup2

Oh I have to remember that!!! Which counter is Goofy's Gallery? The one they usually serve drinks by the pool? Or one of the food counter?

It is a food counter on the other side of the drink station. The drink station is on one side and goofys is on the other side of the ship.

This is my first time on a Disney Cruise, so I was wondering if they have on the Wonder what I've seen on another cruise line. We went to the spa and was able to relax in these fabulous tile lounge chairs that were heated. I saw them in the picture of the spa on their website (I think) but can't find any information about them on the site. Anyone seen this before?

Thanks!

That would be the rainforest room, you can get a day pass, a weeklong pass or one of those spa packages that include the pass.

Has anyone done the character call? We scheduled one for my daughter but I am not sure what it says - is it a live character or a recording? When I scheduled it, it didn't give an opportunity to say who the character will be speaking to, so I am not sure how personalized it will be. Thanks!

I've done it before. Once I didn't get to pick up and it didn't leave a message. Second time was confusing b/c it's a recording and it was 1/2 over before I gave the phone to DD. It's a character saying they can't wait to see you on their boat I think. Just remember when you schedule it for so your kid is around!

just did the character call a couple of days ago...it starts as a recorded voice telling you that someone special wants to talk to you (don't mean for this to sound scary...) and to press one to hear the message. I delayed a few seconds before hitting the "one" and i heard music so i think it will wait a bit for you to get the kids before you hit the "one button".

anyway, then you'll hear either mickey or goofy (you choose which one when you set up the call) and he says he's heard your going on the "Alaska" cruise and how much they are looking forward to seeing you. It's cute and little kids will be thrilled.

FYI, if you have caller ID it will show as a toll free number, doesn't say disney or dcl...

Good tip to know -- thanks! :)

Now that we all know about the free mornjng smoothies, will we have to fight for it? LOL

Haha, I read the tip on the disboards before we went on our first cruise but I NEVER saw them - turned out I was going too late (around 9am). They make a few trays and when they're out they're out. The second cruise, I learned to enjoy quiet time in the mornings - there is hardly anyone out by the pool before 8am and the views are of course gorgeous from that deck. They would have trays of smoothies, breakfast pastries and fruit and sometimes yogurt parfaits at goofy's galley which opens before the buffet does in the morning.

The spa varies by who you get and what treatment, in general they are good but some will try to upsell. I hear the Exotic Rasul is a fun thing to do.
