2) Is it still cold on the Alaska cruises during the summer months? August is the last month to cruise to Alaska, right? How cold is it in August?
3) is the attire sweatshirts, jackets, coats? Sorry, I've never been on a cruise that required more than a sundress and a swimsuit (clothing material wise). So, I have no idea how to dress on an Alaskan cruise. I see Minnie in her big fur coat, so I'm wondering if I will have to pack similar to when I pack for a ski trip.
2) It can vary a lot. We went I believe the last week in July a few years back. I remember there was one excursion (I think the one with the train and the dogs) that we were told to dress very warm...well, I think it was at least 75 degrees the whole time. But, on the other hand, the day we went into Tracy Arm it was about 70 degrees when we started and it got cold fast...probably low 50's deep inside the Arm. It can vary quite a bit...sometimes t-shirts and shorts, other times you'll need at least a coat.
3) Other than dinner, sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts are all fine. Dress is very casual. My advice is not to overpack for cold weather. Do bring rain gear. If it gets cold and you didn't pack for it, the gift shops at all the ports have decent fleece jackets that are quite inexpensive (around $20).
