Wonder/Alaska - so many ??s

...

2) Is it still cold on the Alaska cruises during the summer months? August is the last month to cruise to Alaska, right? How cold is it in August?

3) is the attire sweatshirts, jackets, coats? Sorry, I've never been on a cruise that required more than a sundress and a swimsuit (clothing material wise). So, I have no idea how to dress on an Alaskan cruise. I see Minnie in her big fur coat, so I'm wondering if I will have to pack similar to when I pack for a ski trip.

2) It can vary a lot. We went I believe the last week in July a few years back. I remember there was one excursion (I think the one with the train and the dogs) that we were told to dress very warm...well, I think it was at least 75 degrees the whole time. But, on the other hand, the day we went into Tracy Arm it was about 70 degrees when we started and it got cold fast...probably low 50's deep inside the Arm. It can vary quite a bit...sometimes t-shirts and shorts, other times you'll need at least a coat.

3) Other than dinner, sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts are all fine. Dress is very casual. My advice is not to overpack for cold weather. Do bring rain gear. If it gets cold and you didn't pack for it, the gift shops at all the ports have decent fleece jackets that are quite inexpensive (around $20).

1) When is the best time to go on an Alaskan cruise (the cheapest month)?

We just booked our first cruise for Alaska next May based on price. We would have preferred on our actual anniversary in June but the price went up each sailing with the cheapest being the May 23rd sailing.

We read that May is the coolest (60s during the day) but the warmer months were considerably more expensive.

Thanks! I was just looking at that same Disney cruise (May 23rd). I made the mistake of looking at an NCL Alaskan cruise during those same dates. Their mini-suites are $1650 each for 1st two people and free for the 3rd and 4th persons. Now, I'm seriously considering going with NCL; then, finding another itinerary to cruise on the Wonder. Decisions, decisions! :)

I am; however, currently sold on an Alaskan cruise for 2016.
