I am thinking of making an ADR here for our September trip. Anyone have any experiences or thoughts to share?
The menu looks great but I would love to hear some personal experiences.
Thanks:)

No, it is not a very popular place among the Dis'ers. But the restaurant is really not bad at all. We have eaten there almost every year since 2003. Last summer, we had a terrific lunch there while there were 11 of us totally. Our server and helper were extremely friendly(many people often associate bad service to bad food :confused3) Being on the Deluxe plan, we were each explained on our menu options fairly clearly. Since we had 11 people in our group, we were able to order almost every item on the menu to pass around like family style. We all had our favorites there. The only dish we didn't like that much was the pork-chop. It was a bit to the dry side.:sad2: If you like sushi, ask for the sushi/sashimi menu. The sushi/sashimi choice was pretty good. :flower3:

Never been, but if it's half as good as WPE, you are in for a great meal! WPE is such an amazing CS restaurant. If we had one near us I'd be in some big trouble both financially and weight wise!;)

we ate there in feb. it was a good meal. the kids' meals were really good. dd got spaghetti and ds got pizza. i got sushi and it was just so-so. i can't remember what dh got, but he liked it. our waiter wasn't very good, and the ambience wasn't great. if i were going to that area of downtown disney again, i would eat there again. but i wouldn't go out of my way for it.

We adore WPE... they are one of the best values for CS meals. The food is fresh and really good... best ever Creme Brulee.

We just ate at Wolfgang Puck yesterday. The food was really quite good, I'll be putting my dining report up in a few days.

I had the artichoke cheese dip as an appy, pumpkin ravioli with chicken as the meal and carrot cake for dessert (which is in my fridge at home, and although it doesn't look as pretty as when I got it...I'm looking forward to having it later tonight.

My BF had the crabcakes, flat iron steak and key lime tart (also in the fridge at home)

It is on the pricy side. We were on the deluxe plan so it didn't matter to us but, the bill (without alcoholic drinks or tip) was 107.00 for lunch. That's not something I'd ever be willing to pay out of pocket.

Our server was good. He was training someone who was struggling a bit though. Even gave us the wrong check envelope with someone else's credit card and driver's license in it - and it took about ten minutes before we could get his attention to explain that it didn't belong to us.

The reviews so far have been pretty good, but if you didn't eat here, then where would you eat on this side of DTD. We were going to go to Disney Quest from 2pm to close. We don't want to travel all the way over to Earl of Sandwich; So when we take a break for dinner where would you recommend we eat?

We ate there on our trip in 2006, did it on our first night...liked it so much canceled a reservation at another place to go back to Wolfgangs. Also did WPE in the same trip. We will be going back there on our September trip as well.

It all depends if you will be using DDP or not. Restaurants on DDP in DTD/Westside are Wolfgang Puck Cafe and Planet Hollywood. Raglan Road is about half way down between DQ and the Earl.

Thank you luckytobeme88 for the recommendation, we are not on the DDP so we are really flexible. Thanks again, I didn't think of PH.

Ok, to be honest, I've eaten upstairs and downstairs at WP. We hated both times. I will never go back here; when we ate upstairs on our honeymoon (supposed to be our nice night out), we waited 2 hours for our food that tasted horrible. This was the place DH was really lookind forward to, and he was beyond disappointed. Downstairs on another visit (decided to give it a second chance like we do for every ADR if we aren't impressed the first time) was OK; the food was decent, but not worth the price to us. Our waiter was slow there, too.

But, you're going to see good and bad about every restaurant at WDW. Definitely your choice if you want to give it a shot. If you're staying on-property, I believe you get some sort of voucher for a discount and free souvie at PH, though. Or, you can head over to the Budget Board and make a post asking for the PH coupon. There's one that is like $10.00 off your ticket that is good through the end of 2009.
