Wow this thread moves quickly!
Thanks to everyone who sent out such warm welcomes.
Chimera asked what program I'm using to train - and at this point, I'm not really using anything because I'm just trying to get my body to move forward again. I like Galloway's wogging approach, so I'll probably start that next week. I bought a nice (well, nice for someone who doesn't really ride much) bicycle right before I got pregnant, so I'll probably use that to cross train in the spring.
Cruella - your run through the state park sounds like it could have been almost peaceful without the cheering squad!
Getnthinr - thanks for the thread to the half marathon report, I'm heading there in a minute. I've read a few on Allears and they are very motivational.
Keenercam - thanks. I think they're pretty cute too (except when they're waking me up in the middle of the night *again*) That is an amazing packing list!
Judy - that is terrible news to receive after training all year.
I've read a number of reports that say lots of people carry Shuffles and other radio devices - does anybody even make an effort to hide them?

My quad hurts all the time, just walking around normally and especially going up and down stairs, not just when I run. If it's just a pain that isn't going to cause any further problems, then I'll grin and bear it, but how how do you know the difference? I don't have any joint pain, thankfully, I think I may have pulled a muscle. We'll be popping pain pills and slugging through our 18 miles together.
. So 3 days off....total rest (NO exercise)...ice and anti-inflam. We'll see...guess I'll attempt an easy run on Thurs. If I can't....three more and we'll try the LR on Sunday. Really...thank you SO much. Your advice was greatly needed

I'm so sorry you'll only be getting 10 inches. I hate getting all geared up and then finding out its a dud!
It's a must see for sure!
RICE and listen to Scott. I know two people who ran their first fulls with only one 16 mile max LR.
