Yes, that CAN happen but in 39 cruises, 25+ times to WDW, many other vacations, I've never even waited an hour for security, let alone close to 3 hours. If anything that catastrophic happens, well then I guess I'll miss my flight. I probably won't be the only one though. It probably happens every day and we'll pay some fee to get put on a later flight.MCO can be a nightmare. We did NOT walk off, picked our bags up in the terminal, used Disney transfers and they got us to MCO by 9:15 am. We had our bag checked and our boarding pass in hand and in the security line by 9:30 am. Good Lord, we barely made a 12:35 pm flight, it was boarding by the time we cleared security.
So my word of caution is, getting off the SHIP is not the issue, the AIRPORT SECURITY is. Have people made a flight that early? Yes. But too many others have not. Skip the stress and just book a later flight, 1 pm or later, budget for a nice lunch at the airport. When ruin a relaxing vacation with travel stress?
MCO is what inspired me to get TSA precheck 8 years ago. The line went all the way through the mall area. There were people walking around handing out info on how to sign up for precheck. Coincidence probably not....you have to increase sales somehow right? I still don't think the wait was more than 45 minutes though.Yes, that CAN happen but in 39 cruises, 25+ times to WDW, many other vacations, I've never even waited an hour for security, let alone close to 3 hours. Otherwise, I'd rather have those several hours at home to unpack, do laundry, and put the luggage back in the attic before returning to work.
Me also. It was in 2016 when a giant tree fell on our house while we were waiting to be seated at Ohana. Instead of going to the MK that day and going to the port and cruising the next day, we switched our flight home to that afternoon.MCO is what inspired me to get TSA precheck 8 years ago.
