I am home and finally having a few minutes to catch up on the WISH threads here. It was a fantastic and life-altering experience for me to do the 1/2 on Saturday. It was the perfect culmination of many months of training and I know I will do it in some form again and again!! Although I was quite anxiety-ridden right up until the night before, once the race started I felt an amazing sense of calm and just knew that Cam and I were on our way to claming our medals. It was so wonderful and I hope that anyone who is on the fence about doing it themselves makes the committment and registers so that they too can be a part of it.
I must say a special thank you to Cam for sharing the 1/2 with me on Saturday. As wonderful as the experience was, it was made even better having someone to share all 13.1 miles with. We talked, we shared headphones

, we encouraged each other, we took pictures - we did it all and had fun and still finished on time and in pretty great shape. My memories of that day will always include my dear friend Cam and I look forward to doing the Minnie 15K with her in May!
I will admit that I too am experiencing major medal envy - I really really want that Mickey medal and have been thinking about doing the full since about mile 12 of the half

I knew right then I couldn't do it but I also knew that a year of training can work wonders! So, yes Cam - I am up for it and would LOVE the opportunity to share it once again with you!!!
As I expected, it was really fun meeting the other WISHers during the weekend - at TE, during the race, at MGM while we were cheering on those doing the full, and at the Boardwalk Bakery on Monday. How lucky we are to have such a great group of people to share our ups, downs, and all the rest with. Thank you all for your helpful information, your shared stories, etc. - they all made such a difference for me this year. I am somewhat of a lurker and don't post that much but I read everything and I know that without this group I wouldn't have been there on Saturday. So, thank you ALL and I look forward to sharing another year in training with you!
