Pea Glad you are going into the holidays feeling better and able to enjoy everything. You have been busy. I hope the new medications works well without big side effects. So nice that you have a pharmacist working with you. Also hope your DS gets the treatment he needs. It sound like he has found a smart doctor. I need to get a handheld air inflator. Another online trip to Amazon!

Lynn I have to go to stores over the weekend very early in the AM and that is it until after Christmas. Summer really needs to get the tires checked. You are right it could be the valve stems. Strange that the newer car would have the issue but you never know.

I have an inflator called 'Fanttik' I got at Costco last year for $40ish. I see similar on Amazon for more.

While I was at Disney DD called me asking where it was because her tires had gone down due to the colder weather. 'In the basement on the shelf' and she was good to go.

I see the 'Fanttik' I bought on the Costco website for $49.99. I forgot it's also a power bank and will charge stuff if needed.

I have an inflator and so does Summer, but for some reason hers no longer keeping a proper pressure reading when it's inflating. Guess Santa needs to bring her a new one for Christmas!

Pea I hope Toto gets better soon. He is so sweet and cute. Thanks for the link to Amazon. I was looking at that one so I did buy it. I will feel better knowing I have one. I have been asking Kenny to use his but I want my own.

Good morning. It is 49 here now with temps heading to mid 50s and then dropping to around 30 overnight. We are expecting rain sometimes heavy, maybe some thunder, and gusty winds. I did reschedule lunch with my MA friend as neither one of us should be on the highways with this weather. It is not snow but the winds and rain make it tough to drive especially with the trucks and they do go all over the road in the wind. I took off 2 hours today for lunch but instead I will get the Christmas stockings ready and start packing up the gifts. I have been watching a Hallmark series 12 dates before Christmas. It is watchable, I do like the family and friend dynamics in it. I have also been watching The Pitt on HBO Max. That one really keeps my interest. So intense at times. Monday I go into the office for our Christmas lunch and to say good by to a coworker who is being laid off due to the office closure next June. She is in her mid 70s but does not want to retire. She says she will look for a part time job after the winter. I am also bringing back my desk chair and anything I brought to the office.

Have a nice Friday.

Good morning, it’s raining now. I will put out my crèches today. Our Houston family went to Germany and Italy over Thanksgiving and brought back a hand made crèche for me, so, I have a new one to display!

Our St Vincent de Paul conference President has invited everyone to her house for a Christmas party this evening, and we are thrilled to be able attend. Then, tomorrow, we will attend a play at the Bristol Riverside theater with good friends. It’s a new play, “ The Nice List,” and we’ll go out to lunch afterwards. We have a pet sitter coming to be with and walk Bonnie twice.

So, in spite of the bad weather predictions for this weekend, we look forward to seeing friends.

Enjoy what you do!

Good morning ☀️ I am also enjoying the wind, rain & thunder this morning.⛈️ it’s really coming down- pups are not going to want to go out again so I’ve got that fight ahead of me in about a hour.
Headed out to finish up 1/2 of my remaining shopping this afternoon and I’ll do my grocery shopping Sunday morning I think.

Pea- thinking of you and your continued progress. Good luck on the new meds, I hope the side effects are minimal.

Good morning. It was raining lightly earlier, but the temp stayed at 48 all night, and that will be the high for the day. The winds were supposed to start at 7, but so far, nothing. We're in the valley, so sometimes they pass right over us. To the east and west they have high wind warnings, but we may luck out.

Summer got her new carpet cleaner from Hoover yesterday, they were right on top of the replacement, which is nice to know. Not all company's have good customer service anymore. It almost makes me afraid to take mine out to use it, I'll be very wary of it until I know mine is still okay. If it's a known issue, they should have issued a recall on them and replaced them.

Have a great Friday everyone.

Good morning. Snowysmom has described our weather. Been running around all week so not planning to go out today in the howling rain. Going to rest up, too, was exhausted yesterday afternoon and had to take a short nap in between appts. DS had invited us to go to LaSalette Shrine to see the lights with them last evening but I had a vet appt for Toto. I would’ve loved to go, but besides seeing the pretty lights, I would’ve lit a candle and done some serious praying, lol. (DS later said he did pray but he forgot to light a candle. 😬 ) May try to get there before the season is over. Now I hear they’re coming over to do gingerbread houses tonight. Will have to figure out what we can have to eat. (Was just going to throw a chicken pot pie into the oven, maybe I still will and just get a second one)

Vet thinks Toto has a knee problem now. (I figured that was coming!) Says now it feels a little swollen (when it apparently didn’t three weeks ago, she says maybe it was new then). He runs full force in our yard after anything that moves (which has always been a good thing for him as he’s been muscular and fit), and with Grady and DS’s crazy dog when she visits. Speaking to his breeder this is how the terriers are, and she’s experienced it too with her dogs. But he is older now and things change for senior dogs. Vet mentioned XRays and when I asked how much they cost that seemed to trigger a lot of “concern” - tech came in talking about knees, and vet herself came in (when I don’t think she was going to) talking about the whole process, etc. Well the cost, they finally told me, was almost $500. The refill on the NSAID the other day was $130, and the consult yesterday was $180 without the XRays. Three weeks ago for the tick issue it cost $500, too. So didn’t want to jump right into XRays unless they were absolutely needed. And I didn’t think they were, really. Vet confirmed they weren’t, that we could treat him conservatively and just assume he has a knee issue.

So now Toto’s on activity restriction for 4-6 weeks and will continue on with his NSAID and glucosamine and finish the antibiotics. Vet had talked about starting a new NSAID that’s stronger but I said I just bought the other ones, so we’ll stick with that. She’s not our usual vet and honestly, I stayed there because of our usual vet (was honestly thinking of changing since their prices had become so high), so I’d rather work w her, but since this one saw us initially they put us back with her. Fortunately we have a kennel area off of our lower family room that’s small and fenced, so that’s where Toto has to go out now, and only in the yard on a leash or run (if I can find that somewhere). He’s not going to like that. I bought him some stairs to keep by our bed so he can get up by himself and he’s learned to use those pretty well now. At night we put another little stool we have by the sofa so he can get up there without difficulty too. He’s been quiet. She had also mentioned starting him on gabapentin and I said no to that as it works in the brain and he’s quiet enough right now, I don’t want him somnolent. Geesh! So hoping that keeping him quiet for a while may help this problem he has. We can do acupuncture or laser treatment, that may be an option. I’m also going to do Reiki on his leg every day. He can still go for quiet walks too.

Thank you all for caring about him. And thank you for your good wishes for me. My oncology appointment truthfully was very overwhelming and I’m still trying to digest it all. She says I’ll be on these medical therapies for 7 to 10 years. 😟

Wishing everyone a nice Friday and a great weekend. 🐣🎄

Pea Thoughts and prayers for you as you begin a new treatment plan. Sorry it is so long term. You do seem to have a great team you are working with and they are with you through this journey. Plus your family and friends are so caring, loving and supportive. Poor Toto. Terriers do seem to get the knee issues. My first Westie had some small issues as he aged. Prayers for Toto too! He is so cute he just makes me smile! Ver care really has sky rocketed alot since I had Jasper.

Lynn Glad to hear Summer got the new carpet cleaner. Good customer service.

I went out to do a few errands and it was rainy and then wind swept rain. Glad I was only about 8 minutes from the condo. And it supposed to get worse this afternoon.

I've stayed in all day as well, but we're supposed to be meeting DH's parents for dinner later, so I'll be braving it for a few minutes. I definitely prefer the cold and sunny weather we had earlier in the week to this mess!

I haven't been to LaSalette in ages, @Pea-n-Me, but I do like it. Big hugs to both you and Toto!!

Good morning. It is 30 degrees here now with temps heading to the mid 30s. It was rainy and very windy yesterday but today the roads are dry, not icy thankfully. I have been to Market Basket which was not crowded at all at 7 am and have taken a chilly walk around the complex. Yesterday I got the 8 stockings done and packed up for transport. Today I will make cookie dough to chill in the fridge until tomorrow and organize the gifts by family. I am going to see if the lake is suitable for walking. After that I will have to see what calls my name.

Have a good day.

Good morning. 24 now heading for 44 and sunny. The winds were bad at times, but there was no loss of power, I don't see any branches down, and the cats are all safe. Dumb Loki slept on the porch swing all night in the cold and wind. There are 2 boxes on the porch, 2 boxes under the porch and I know he knows how to get in and out of the shed, so no excuse for it. He seems fine, so maybe he was warm enough. Tiger sleeps in that window well pile of leaves every night. Lynx came out from under the front porch so she was the smart one in a box with a warm blanket and out of the wind. Cats are weird, lol

I watched Goose the kitten last night. She would go in the kitchen, get one of her toy mice, bring it into the living room and bury it in a towel on my recliner. She made that trip at least 10x with different mice. There was a whole collection on my chair when I got up this morning, lol.
Summer called last night to say she had gone to Weis for some groceries and finally found some brussels sprouts, apparently the only store anywhere around that had any. She wanted to know if I wanted 1 bag or 2. It's just me, so one, and she got herself one. She went for her MRI and xrays yesterday and found out that she has damage in her right knee, left wrist, right elbow and her neck, along with more damage to her spine, all caused by the accident. They know this because none of those injuries exist in all of the xrays and MRI from last year. So she had to send all of that to the other driver's insurance company. The Dr said nothing much can be done about all of those now, but down the road her neck and spine might need surgery. As I called it, Gracie isn't old enough to work at that place, another one who didn't bother looking at her resume or application before scheduling an interview. Good thing Gracie called to ask before going up there the other day.

Bed has been stripped and remade, bathrooms cleaned, and kitchen floor vac'd and swiffer'd, so the rest of the day is mine. Might make some more cookies and bring an assortment to my good neighbor next door.

Have a good Saturday, the last one before Christmas!

Good morning cold here today but at least the rain and wind from yesterday are gone.

I'm having a hard time getting into the Christmas Spirit this week. I had to sit with my dad on Tuesday while mom had a Dr.'s appointment. I know he has dementia but it was bad on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday it was even worse. Yesterday mom had him taken to the hospital because some of his other symptoms were alarming. He was hallucinating. His temp wouldn't come above 94 even though she had him wrapped like a mummy and he was refusing food. Good thing she did it, although he was really angry with her as he did NOT want to go to the hospital again. He has sepsis again with dehydration and the worsening dementia signs were due to that. They are hopeful he can get home by Wednesday. Started him on an antibiotic while still in the ER. Sadly he was responding well to PT and even walked about 13 feet on Monday. This will be another setback there but the insurance should allow PT again. I am facing the reality that this may be our last Christmas with dad and it has got me a bit down. We are trying to come up with ways to keep dad better hydrated as that should help prevent a sepsis flare up. Add to it the flu has hit my daughter's house with Benny being really sick. And Jim has surgery next month so I have a ton of appointments to make sure all of them approve it. Biggest hurdle is the family dr. If he gives us a hard time again I will be looking for a new primary.

I haven't figured out gifts for my kids this year so they may all be getting cash or gift cards. Hopefully I can get motivated to bake cookies later today, Originally the plan was to go to the Christmas Market in Center City today, but I want to visit dad instead. One day I will get there. Crystal working almost full time now makes it hard for us to just take a spur of the moment trip. They are so thrilled with her at her job that she may have the opportunity to become an office manager at some point. She works for our foot doctor and he loves her.

Ella decided I need to have a New Year's Eve Party again this year. Of course, I now have a little over a week to figure that out. As I have been typing this my youngest cat Fitzy decided to try and climb up my tree. That was a first but a showing him the water bottle got him out. I keep a spray bottle near me to spritz the cats. I don't even spray them anymore. Just holding it up and they run.

Hope you all are having a better weekend than I am but right now I am having a self pity party. It will pass

Happy Saturday, everyone! Today, I have off from therapy. I am very grateful that tomorrow I will have my two regular sessions to make up for upcoming time off next week. Yesterday, with OT, I made more balancing progress. Later, I walked a lot and also did balance work with PT. Grace of God, I definitely continue to get stronger. That is beyond grace and extra despite so many obstacles and deterrent.

Dad's doctor visit went very well, extra praise to God. Thank you all for your extra prayers.

Still, no floor movement which is so disappointing and awful. Sonia our management contact has claimed the paperwork is all ready and that the front office should have emailed it to my dad, yet, nothing. No return call yesterday from Sonia either. Dad and I do feel the owner may be avoiding committing to contributing toward the cost which is so outrageous since he should be paying 100% of it but won't be. God-willing , Monday, we will at least get the agreement from management to look over and then depending what it says in terms of reimbursement, at long last be truly able to schedule the work.

I'm going to work on writing out some Christmas notes today and deciding who here I want to be sure to give a card too. I will, of course, also do my exercises.

Have a happy day, friends. I will come back later.
