Carrie[/B] - So...what exactly is the 10 minute rule again? If things are hurting 10 minutes in, go ahead and scrap the workout? I like that idea...good for injury prevention for sure!
The 10 Minute Rule: It's got a couple uses. First, on a day when you don't want to get off the couch, you tell yourself, "I am just going to run 10 minutes. If I still don't feel like runniing, I will turn around and come back." You can always just do 10 minutes.
More often, however, I use it as a body check. If I get started and things are hurting, I give myself teh 10 minute rule. If the hurts don't smooth out after 10 minutes in, I get to turn around. For me, that ends up within a minute or so of a mile, so sometimes I jsut go to teh mile and tehn turn around so I don't feel liek I whimped out. You're right, though, it's a great way to make sure you don't over do something that's hurting. (I'll pretend I wasn't just scamming out of a workout.

OMG, do you mind if I quote this in every post I make for the forseeable future?ScoJo15 said:BTW, thanks for the always fun and upbeat posts on the boards, it's a delight to read what you have to say!
