The club card and the t-shirt will come in the mail. I was going to bring you home a cabana boy from my Puerto Rico trip this past weekend, but with all of the luggage restrictions in place these days, I just couldn't swing it.

I'm not too sure about 40 so far. Sounds worse than it is, I think. The cabana boy certainly helps

I agree . I never knew so many of us were headed for a new age group . I'll actually be in Fort Lauderdale on business for my 40th so I'll definitely be looking for my own cabana boy that day . I hope 40's being kind to you

I've been totally neglecting this thread recently. Allie, I know what you mean by busy, busy, busy--and I don't even have kids. And no vacation! But yay for you--I see you have an upcoming 5K. Good luck with that!

But I wanted to thank Craig for his well wishes and for serving as the kick-booty example of a life well-lived! You make me look forward to my new decade and many more events!

Mel, you'll come around to enjoying the new year/decade, I'm sure. I do think it's a label/marketing problem more than anything else.

Welcome to lil mermaid. I'm an April 40yo-er, too. And have been enjoying every minute! You've got the incentive to live it up all right, and I'm sure the kids keep you busy!

Sara: You're definitely going to enjoy all the benefits, cougar and otherwise of turning 40. And January is a great time to celebrate, what with the marathon weekend and all. If you give me your specific date I'll add it to the calendar!

I can finally join this thread - though I am not sure if I am a WISHer or not?! I just signed up for my first race ever - the Circle of Life 5k in January. And I will be 40 years old this September. I've been wanting to start doing this for a year and with my 40th coming, well, that was good enough reason to start and join in the fun! Plus, I lost my mom ten years ago to cancer and I see it as sort of a way to run in her memory. She loved the Lion King movie and Circle of Life was a fave song of hers, so its all very fitting. Plus, I got a little encouragement from one of my DIS friends who is a WISHer too! Dh is going to run (walk) with me because I am not quite sure I can keep up with her and the rest of you pros out there! Little steps...

Anyway I am looking forward (I think?) to this cougar creating time in my life.

Welcome Z!! , can I call you Z? My daughter and I did that same race last Jan. to celebrate my 40th. You will LOVE it! Don't worry about it at all, you'll do fine. It is a fun family event. Oh, and let Debra (deekaypee) know when your actual birthday (if you want us to know that is ) is so she can put you on our list, and we will celebrate right along with you. Welcome aboard, and you are most certainly a WISHer. This is the most welcoming bunch. Post on the Weekly Thread and you will get a lot of tips from the pros, of which I am NOT.

Woo hoo for being, as of today, our only September celebration. We'll try to make it appropriately HUGE.
