Oh, poo. I just realized Scott bought the first round and I missed it (and apparently his bananas don't dance at home :confused3 ) Anyway, second round is on me!

At least I'm not misatributing with my non-dancing bananas :confused3 :rotfl2:

Perhaps if my bananas danced more, I wouldn't need all the misatributing. :lmao:

I'm down for round 2!!

(I think we've found a different kind of endurance event that WISHers like to participate in...maybe that bar scavenger hunt in Jan really IS a good idea :thumbsup2 )

I so love our WISH group and know that we will get through with positive attitudes.

Thank you to everyone who is posting and for all who are offering input.

I will just take a diet coke....I don't care what happens...I just come here to deal with the stress of work. Peace out!popcorn::
It is race weekend in Charlotte this week and next!:scared1:

Here ya go Scott...mine dance fine.

I just got home from work and started reading this thread. I had to go get a beer myself after about 10 min of reading.

I'm glad that we got this hashed out and realized we are all on the same team, now we can get along with the joy we feel when we are around each other.

I am looking forward to a "cool" WDW in Oct:) It is 101 here today and will be near 100 tomorrow for the 100K/50M/50K race Linda and I race direct. It will be killer on the runners and my volunteers. It still beats the snow of Tahoe. We are loving where it is warm:thumbsup2

Linda and I are enjoying a cold one and hope to cheers our friends soon at DL or ToT! Have our 4:00 am alarm set:(

Hope your feet are doing well! I hope to beat you to training soon!

Great, once again the mom of three missed the party. Its Saturday morning and I have 8 games of softball/baseball to get through today. Well, 8 is optimistic, if they lose one it will be more..... Needless to say, I am going to have to skip the drinks or I will never make it. Or worse yet, I will start yelling at the umps.

I like the idea of a bar scavenger hunt or a pub crawl in January. Problem is that the only day I can manage it is Sunday and by then it will be a literal crawl. How about motored chair laps? Its easier to hold the beer that way.

Ceceilla after this week we have sure earned a good buzz.

I'm so glad that we are back to being the athletic party animals with a love of all things Disney.

I'm late to the party, too. I always miss the action! :lmao:
Hey, instead of a beer can I have a glass of wine please? :goodvibes

Of course pretty princess. It's definitely a day for relaxing and shrugging off stress. So on with the party.

Ahhhh, but to further fan the flames..........................

Straight from DrinkBoy.com:

"A Martini, and in fact any clear cocktail, is properly prepared by stirring and not shaking."

"Cocktails should be cold, the colder the better. And for this, shaking is the preferred choice. It is easier to chill a drink down by shaking it, then by stirring it."

"So, shaking is better then stirring, right? Well, no. Stirring has an important benefit over shaking."

It goes on to say that in terms of clarity & dilution, stirring is superior to shaking. Shaking caught on because bartenders can churn 'em out faster that way.

But the bottom line is if you like 'em shaken, it's ok by me.

But Bond was still wrong (IMO). And remember what "Q" said............ "It's better to be cleverer than you look than to look cleverer than you are..."

A true Genius. Words to live by.

Ok, the hijacked thread will now be allowed to land.......................

I know I'm late to the party--either that or I'm hosting the after-party with all the hipsters :cool2: --but as long as we're on the subject of martinis, that's GIN, folks. There's no such thing as vodka martinis. (Even though I do love my vodka.)

Scott, I think the scavenger hunt is definitely a go! (And yes, I read every post. What? You think I wanna hang with my ILs before I've had my coffee?)

P.S. Just got back from my pre-race short run, running by Lake Erie. It's windy and reminds me of Fargo. Tomorrow's gonna be fun.

Good Morning all you WISH party People.
2 MaragaRRRRariiiiitass were enough for me. (frozen like a slushy and no solt!)
Got up and got a wlak in (even though there are smoke warnings out again today)
I like the idea of anything haveing to do with getting together, raceing bars, chairs, crawling, skipping, scavinging. I can do wine and or any kind of slushy thing - sorry, no beer for me! (I know you beer drinkers are scoffing at me right now) I am trying to decide if I can make it to either the RFTT or the ToT. WOuld like to try for the ToT because Panda will be there, but right now not sure. I will be in CA for the DL 1/2 (seems like that might be a scorcher with heat) and with that I will miss the first home game for my Miami Hurricanes in which I am a season ticket holder. The RFTT and ToT both are on weekends with home games, so I have to decide maybe which game to miss Univ. of Central FL or Wake Forrest. I am leaning toward missing Univ. of Central FL. These games are on Sat night. Oh, I still don't know and will have to really think about it. Anyway, what you all want to scavenge is fine with me.
    (I put these in for Scott!:rotfl2: )

My! Things move so quickly around here. I've been spotty in keeping up with the various threads but when I got home last night and DH said "All he** done broke loose now" I decided to make soup and drink wine rather than read what was going on. It's now Saturday morning and it looks like things have calmed down.

But I missed the round of drinks!! Waaaahhhh!!!

Sorry Scott, my bananas dance--see?

My opinion: "Oh you know me. I just like to go with the flow, see where it leads me."

Did I get enough movie quotes in here for you guys? Drinks for anyone who can tell me which movies they come from (Calcio--you are NOT eligible for this).

Scott, I think the scavenger hunt is definitely a go!

Disclaimer: This is NOT a Steering Committee related Post...the opinions reflected here are soley those of my own and do not represent the steering committe in any way shape or form. :thumbsup2:

Here is what I envision.....a real scavenger hunt of items to be collected from various drinking establishments during one night. Possibly the Sunday night after Goofy. Items could be along the lines of: Rose and Crown souvenier yard of beer glass, a receipt with a drink order from the Belle Vue Lounge, a bar coaster from Germany signed by the Kidcot CM, a picture of yourself drinking in front of the eiffel tower, etc...the list would not be revealed until the official start of the event (maybe we meet on the boardwalk at 6pm or something)

Everyone would bump into each other throughout the night as they collected the various items....we could all meet up at the traditional WISH meet on Monday morning and share the items that we were able to scavenge...

What do you think?

SORRY TO TOTALLY HIJACK THIS THREAD (oops!)

If we have some takers...I'll start a new thread ;)

Scott

Hijack away my friend!

This sounds great, but I fear any photos taken on a hunt the Sunday night after the half/full/goofy. After my 2006 Goofy I was unable to go up even 1 step, and I was completely wiped out.

Now you throw down the gauntlet and ask us to go out that night and expose ourselves to ridicule and mockery?

Okay, I'm in. The only requirement is any and all items are scavanged in the EPCOT or Crescent Lake/BW/YC/BC area. Going to multiple locations that night isn't going to happen.

Craig

I'm up for something, just don't know if I'll be able to stay Sunday night. It's very hard to get time off at work. As is I am trying to get Thursday afternoon and Friday off. My Mom may do the 5K and I'm doing the Half. I would be willing to do a scavenger thing maybe right before a WISH meet or something like that. I'll be able to tell closer to the date.

Tracy

Scott--that's the best idea I've heard to date! Of course, we'll be there with my in-laws, who are definitely NOT the drinking types, and Krista will be a newly nursing mother unable to drink, but I could probably steal away for awhile. Or I could just walk around with three sober people drinking on my own. Is that the first sign of alcoholism?? ;)

Steve

Scott, count Panda Dave and me in!!! I agree we should keep it to Epcot and Broadwalk areas!!!
Steve, Krista doesn't have to drink alcoholic beverages to join in the fun! Besides your little guy will have plenty of "aunts and uncles" to keep him entertained!!
