WISH Away the Pounds Outstanding October Challenge -- Everyone welcome!

Flossbolna -That must be annoying!! One tip on how to save what you have written: Just before you hit "submit reply", highlight all the text you have written and copy it. This way it will still be in your computer's memory. If then the DIS crashes on you, you just go back to the thread, open a reply window and paste it into it. I do that regularly with longer posts. Just as a safety measure. Hope this makes sense!

Flossbolna - your point is what really makes me crazy - I think to myself better copy this before it poofs and then it poofs before I copy ::yes:: my own fault! One would think one would learn from previous mistakes :thumbsup2

QOTD:
List three things that you feel helps you successful with losing weight:
1. Wearing my Fitbit One to track my steps each day
2. Journaling what I eat through MyFitnessPal (MFP)
3. Having accountability friends & doing my part in the group (encouraging, cheering, saying get your buns moving, etc)

Forgot to mention yesterday that I have new walking shoes - what a difference it made - my feet were thanking me!

It is a georgeous day in Dayton, OH - I plan to be outside as soon as it warms up a bit - WISHing everyone a great day, weekend & Columbus Day holiday especially if you are fortunate enough to have the day off work!

Hi!

My crazy week is all flowing along according to plan - so far! The deposition was shorter than expected, hopefully because the opposing counsel figured out I can't actually be that helpful to their case. *whew* Got a 4-mile run in yesterday afternoon while it was cool-ish and sunny out, and then my uncle arrived! He's here for two nights, and it's really fun to see him, especially with DDs. He's my dad's younger brother, and they definitely noted the family resemblance. He's also a total goofball, and we're having fun.

This morning, I powered through work I got behind on because of the deposition and the Monday board meeting/deposition prep. Chiropractor and a cashier's check over lunchtime, and then DH came home & we closed on our refi! So happy to have a shorter term and a lower rate. I just got back from DD's gymnastics.

One more day of crazy, and then I head to CT for the Hartford Half! :yay: I'm so happy to get to see my cousin, my mom, and two of my aunts! And I'm hoping for a good race - the weather is looking just about perfect, and I am committing Jeff Galloway's emailed race plan to memory... Any CT peeps going to be at the race?

The only hitch this week has been food. I feel like I've been using it as a coping mechanism, and today I tore into a whole lot of bottle caps (Wonka Bottle Caps - one of my absolute favorite candies). I could do worse for a candy splurge, but it's still not good. I think I just hit a point where I fell back into my old habit of self-medicating my stress with food. Gotta try and keep it in line tomorrow. I'm also working on staying hydrated.

Today's mail also brought an invite to test Magic+ on DH's and my trip down for Wine & Dine - woo!! We're DVC, and of course, we have a 1-night booking followed by a 3-night booking because of how the availability played out. So we ended up signing on and customizing two sets of bands. I'm sure we'll get all that sorted out, but I'm definitely psyched to be able to use the Magic bands on this trip! Between my Garmin, my FitBit Flex, and my Magic Band, I'm going to be completely connected to everything!

It's raining here, and it's cooled down a bunch. I have some work I should really get done tonight, but I kind of just want to curl up with either my Kindle or my DVR instead...no more food tonight!!

XO
Liz

Sounds busy, busy at your house! Good luck in the half! I think it's so cool that you are getting the Magic Bands. Are you going to the parks while you are there? If so, did you get to pick out FP+ yet?

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm off to work but here is today's QOTD!!

QOTD for Thursday, October 10, 2013:

What do you hope to GAIN by LOSING???

BBL today to chat!................P

When I started my weight loss, I wanted to gain ENERGY to chase my 2 year old around the backyard and park. Now that I am closer to my goal weight, I hope to gain smaller thighs :) I would love to gain a new wardrobe as well :thumbsup2

Bought some cold weather running gear, so will be trying that out for the first time on Saturday. Temp here is down to 8 C now, so I'm feeling a bit chilly even when running. Going looking for a new pair of running shoes this weekend, I have been recommended Brooks Ravenna 4 and Ghost 6 as being suitable, but need to travel to bigger cities to specialist shops to try them on before buying online!!

Stayed off the scales this week so far, but hoping for a pleasant surprise on Friday morning!!!

I don't know if you can order from runningwarehouse website, but if you know the shoe & size you want, WISHers get a discount. It was WISHRACED last time I ordered. Maybe someone can confirm :confused3

I'm happy to say the temps have still been yummy warm but the humidity has felt like a solid wall. :crazy2: When I let the Wonder Mutt out this morning though, I actually felt a bit of coolness in the air (at least MY version of cool :rotfl:). :cool1: My phone says it's 65 right now, but I'm positive it's warmer than that, and 96% humidity, which doesn't feel that way at all! Can't wait for this weekend though, as we're taking the top off the Jeep, driving A1A along the beach, and heading up to Jupiter to the Square Grouper. Yes (and my mother would be so proud), I'm actually eating fish! :cheer2: Being a vegetarian, or as someone pointed out to me, a pescetarian (as I still eat fish/dairy), isn't quite as difficult as I thought it would be. :goodvibes

What does everybody have on tap for the weekend? :beach:

I am so sorry about your humidity. We are having awesome fall weather of 75 and no humidity which is perfect for me. Hope you enjoy your weekend and meal. We have a busy weekend of soccer going on. A scrimmage today for DS10 and a game for DS7 plus a game for DS10 tomorrow (which is 2.5 hours away). Good thing it's toward the mountains and the leaves should be beautiful. Although DH says when they change colors, it just reminds him that they are dying and winter is on its way :rotfl:.

I expected a significant loss this week. Was hoping for 1.6-2.0. I have NO IDEA why the scale read that I was UP .2!!! And yes, I know all the rationales, voice of reasoning, and platitudes, but STILL!! SOOOO frustrating!

Now I am really resenting all of the things I didn't eat, including popcorn at the movies, home-baked apple pie, wings yesterday, restaurant-bought jambalaya over the weekend, a caramel nut apple, and cookies last night. Seriously peeved. LOL!

Sorry for your frustration. I am no expert, but I would try to hit your daily amounts especially if you are working out.

Okay friends! I'm caught up! I had a miserable day at work (long story and I"m so grateful it's a long weekend) and had to just decompress a bit when I got home. The walk definitely helped, so thanks for making sure I stick to my commitment!

I"m off to eat a late dinner and watch Big Bang with the men! Looking forward to Dona's coaching this week!.............P

Sorry about your bad day. I'm glad the walk helped and I hope Big Bang lightened the mood. I love that show. Do you watch Modern Family? It's another of my faves for stress relief laughter.

Sneaked on at work again.........think my own laptop is beyond repair, so looking for a new one this weekend!

Very happy to see a 2lb loss on the scales this morning, so that's 3 so far this month, looking like my target might actually be achievable.

My 8K run at the gym went well last night.....I can still walk this morning!!! Managed it in 1:06:38, so a 10K outside (I run faster outside) is certainly looking achievable in 1:30:00, which is what I've set for myself. (Rubbish times to all of you 'proper' runners no doubt, but I'm happy with them).

Looking forward to my weekend of shopping, buying new running shoes, new laptop, new winter coat (last years is now 5 sizes too big)......good job I've got some money stashed away!! Will just have to behave on the food front as we are going to a couple of large malls, and the food courts always have lots of appealing stuff.......burritos will be my biggest problem!

Good job on the run! I guess you do need a new coat! 5 sized too big is amazing!

Yesterday's QOTD:

When I saw the question of what I hope to gain by losing, I really had to think about it. I have reached a point where I am at a healthy weight, I feel great, I think I look pretty good already at my current weight. So I feel like the only reason for me to lose more is pure vanity, not health, better self-confidence or being a good example for my kids. I guess that might be my current problem with motivation as well. I don't have a "good cause" to lose for. But then I remembered that the one thing I do need to work on is to have a "security buffer". I want to stay like I am, but I need to make sure that a few stressful months don't get me back to where I started. So what I hope to gain at the moment is a future without being overweight!

Isn't this the truth! I think lots of people feel the same way.

Good Friday morning everyone. I am Dona and I will be your coach for the next few days. I am a wife , of 35 years, mother of 2 great boys, 28 and 23 and a math teacher for 36 who is now teaching the top students in the school. I also spend time working on quilting, knitting and making costumes for plays for the local high school (not the one I teach at but the one my sons went to) and also for a local theater company.

Question of the Day

Many of us have been on this journey before. We have all lost and gained. After you have lost some weight were your expectations met or were disappointed?

I think it was a little of both for me. I think I was happy that I could do it and felt so strong. But, I was thinking "Is this it? I still need to lose some more weight from my middle and thighs."

The other item I hope to continue to gain by losing is a better sense of nature and its wonder. I mean, Ladybug & I go out jogging around 9pm & 3am four times a week) and I mean WOW!! To see all those stars up in the crystal clear sky.......

To sometime see shooting stars.... I mean WOW!! Mother nature is truely a sight to behold & I am truely appreciative of seeing her now from a thinner point of view.:yay:

Have a great weekend y'all.:)

Glad to hear the pup is ok. I cannot imagine going out for a jog at 9 pm and 3 am! But, more power to you!

Well, I didn't lose any this week, but I didn't gain either, so :woohoo::confused3:woohoo:. Better luck this week, hopefully!

Well, yay for no gain! I'm sure you'll see a loss this week.

TGIF!!

Ok, so I actually started WW on Monday so my weigh in for them isn't until this coming up Monday but so far for today's weigh in here, I am down 3.5 pounds. I always tend to lose a lot of weight the first few weeks on any new diet and then it tapers off.

I'm still trying to read and understand how everything works here on the thread. I did PM my weight to Lisa this morning and hopefully my name will be put on the challenge participate list. I'm excited but I could use all the support I can get, lol! I LOVE sweets and Diet Coke is my absolute worst enemy!! :eek:

I also went out and treated myself to some new running shoes and hope to be putting those into good use here really, really soon. I miss running!

Congrats on the loss! And, I am also a Diet Coke fan. It's tough to quit even though I know it's bad for me. Yay for new running shoes and getting back to running.

I, too, am at a loss this week. Although barely. After about 5 weeks of an average of 3 lbs lost each week, this week I only lost 0.8 lbs. it's good that it's 0.8 lbs in the right direction, but I was so hoping that I would finally be out of the legally "obese" category and onto the overweight category. Oh well. Goal for next week I guess. So weird that at 164 lbs, one would be considered obese. I don't agree with some of these numbers.

Congrats on the loss. The numbers don't make any sense to me either.

:thanks: Dona for coaching! I need to think about the question so I'll be back later with my answer.

Shockarooni this morning that I do an a LOSER!

Today is my BLAnniversary, one year ago today I had my adrenal glands removed to beat Cushing's disease. I'd like to share my one year ago and now photo if you don't mind :)

Congrats on the BLAnniversary!

My disappointment is that the one place on my body where I really NEED extra padding seems to be the first place where weight falls from. It's pathetic when your 12-year-old daughter has a bigger cup size than you do. Sigh.

I'm so sorry, but I am :rotfl2: right now. I am the exact same way. Although, I have a very endowed friend and she has a hard time exercising and running, so I am thankful that I do not have those issues.

bummer. For my height (a whopping 5'2) and age, my "ideal weight" is 110-125.

And here I was aiming for 135. :scared:

Anyone else have this shock? It's a HECK of a lot lower then I ever thought. I might have been 110 in high school but gesh!

I think the numbers are a little unrealistic. I need to look mine up.

I'm aiming for 135 too and I'm only 5'1". I was 115 in high school and when I got married but I'm also not 19 anymore. And at that point I didn't have 4 kids. Yeah I have pudge and I have battle scars from those babies, but I'm ok with that. I feel 1000 times better than I have in 15 years.

Yes, kids definitely change your body. And, I tell my teenage students that I feel so much better than I did in high school and in my 20s.

I lost this week (4 lbs) but I was sick most of the week. My diet was primarily soup, Popsicles and tea. :sick:

Maybe next week ill keep it off and maybe lose a little more

I hope you're feeling better and I hope your loss sticks around!

Question of the Day

Many of us have been on this journey before. We have all lost and gained. After you have lost some weight were your expectations met or were disappointed?

I had a good answer typed and poof it's gone - guess it was for my own personal therapy :rotfl2: so here's my short answer

when I set my mind to lose & lose - my expectations are met - then overtime as I gain a pound here and there and it eventually adds up to 20 lbs - I am disappointed with myself!!

I have been reading and trying to post each day but 4 x now as soon as I am just about ready to submit my post - it does the poof and gone routine - I admit once I have typed out the post I don't retype it - just grumble to myself and move on -

today I am typing again to WISH everyone a great weekend and pixie dust to stay focused on your goal!!

That darn Poof Fairy! She gets around and got me good this week. I hope you have a great weekend as well.

Good morning everyone! Hope you all have a fabulous start to the weekend! I thought the weekend would be great for me to get back OP, but now a very dear friend has spontaneously announced a visit. So it will be difficult. BUT I am all determined to track everything and just use some of my weekly extra for any treats we might have! Am very excited to see her, it has been nearly 3 years since I saw her last! :cool1:

How fun! Have a great time with your friend!

Happy Saturday morning all! I was going to do some replies, but you all have been very chatty over the past 24+ hours and I'm on myiPad...which I love but type badly on....so you will have to wait until I'm home to do any replies.

I came down last night to stay overnight with DD before bringing her home for the 3 day weekend (Columbus day for those who aren't local). She has an intersquad swim meet this morning plus the team teaches swim lessons on Saturdays, so she can't leave til all that is done. We had a nice dinner here on campus and a good walk and then watch a funny show before bedime. Nice to relax with her a bit.

So now I'm sitting on the pool deck (feels familiar on a Saturday morning!) waiting to watch her.

TTYL...........P

Thanks for coaching!
Sounds like a fun time with DD. Hope you have a nice family weekend.

Question of the Day

List three things that you feel helps you successful with losing weight.

Thanks for coaching!

1. Drinking plenty of water
2. Planning meals and tracking my food
3. Exercising and trying new things

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello everyone! I missed a day but am all caught up. Man, I had about 3-4 pages to read, so I had to stop and make dinner in between replying. We've had such beautiful weather lately and we have been busy enjoying the outdoors. Tomorrow, we (DS10) has a soccer game 2.5 hours away. We are having to skip Sunday School so we can leave early enough to stop along the way to eat lunch. DS10 gets car sick when he eats in the car, so we are going to stop at a fast food place and let him eat and relax before finishing our travels. I am planning to bring fruit and water with us, but I think fast food will be our only option. We are traveling near a national forest area, and there's not much around. Hopefully, I can find a BK or Wendy's since I like their salads the best.
Good thing we have Monday off school since we will probably get home around 8 pm. Although, next weekend is even worse with traveling, but I won't think about that yet!
I am planning on going to sleep nice and early tonight, so I need to get going and grade ALL my papers tonight so I can relax the next two days. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Jill
I really had very good intentions of keeping up this month, but haven't been doing so great. :(
There's still half a month left, so lots of time to be more active on here.:goodvibes
Been a great month for workouts. Ran 10.6 today. Two yoga and two strength classes this week and been getting in at least a mile a day. I feel very beat up today, but just beat up, not injured.
Our dog is hanging in there. She is moving a little more, though still can't stand on her back legs. Thursday was not a good day, but we adjusted her meds and she is doing a little better.
So my plan is to jump back in from here and get my act together. We have a very busy November and I want to hit it down at least a few more pounds. :)
Just coming on to say that the last two days were AWFUL for me for food! Yikes! Just poor choices foe meals and snacks. So, now that that is off my chest, on to a better week! :thumbsup2
QOTD:
1) weighing my food on a scale to learn adequate portion sizes
2) making fruit and vegetables my standard go to snacks. I still eat too much fruit and too little vegetables, but it is better than a slice of bread!
3) having a support group - and that is the surprising thing for me. I am not that much of a group person, but this thread has helped me so much to stay on track. I am even thinking about signing up for WW meetings as well instead of just doing it online because I think that this might give me a boost?
Just brought my friend to the station, so now I have to track yesterday's damage!!! :faint: It was not that bad, really. Just that last cocktail I rather should not have had... We went clothes shopping together and it was a lot of fun as we tried on some stuff that I normally would never have tried on my own! And I looked great in it. So today is back to a healthy routine!
Good Sunday morning everyone! Sorry I didn't make it back on yesterday. It ended up being a long day between the drive home and all and I just wanted to make dinner and snuggle with DD, so that is what we did.
I took a "day off" of my low carb committment for the month yesterday, but I'm feeling okay about it. I have kept up with my walking (although yesterday's mile was a bit of a cop out, since it was really just the necessary walking on campus from dorm to pool, pool to dining hall, dining hall to parking garage, etc).
DD wants to go to late service at church this morning, but I'm not sure she brought home any church clothes, so we'll see. Plus I was kind of hoping for a day of no driving. And I need to keep lugging along with all of the laundry she brought home!;)
Back to my low carb eating today though! Greek yogurt with fruit for breakfast, salads for lunch, and dinner is homemade low fat broccoli cheddar soup (in a bread bowl for the kids).
I know I"m behind on reading and replying and I'll try to pop on later today. Thanks for understanding..............P
Question of the Day
List three things that you feel helps you successful with losing weight.
Tracking ALL of my food.
Weighing/measuring my portions.
Eating clean.
********************
Well, no church, since DD realized that she didn't bring home anything church appropriate.... and quite frankly, I think she needed the sleep for now.
Lots going on with her at school right now. I don't want to go into great detail, but she has had to "put on her big girl panties" and make some tough decisions. I think, overall, she has made the RIGHT decisions, but it has been really hard and VERY stressful. I'm just glad to have her here for a bit to coddle her and hug her and take care of her. She really likes her school and is LOVING her major and has had an excellent opportunity to get involved in a research project come her way, so mostly things are GREAT.
Well.... time to get one more load of wash onto the clothesline while the sun is shining down! TTYL.......................P
Good morning all! :wave2:
My company is still here so I racing through to say hello and to tell you our pretty colors are updated. :car: Check out the pretty colors and one of us is now WISH lime green! :yay:
I'll be back later to catch up.
Happy news today! I hit the "overweight" level and am forever out of "obese" category! It's a small victory, but something that has been important to me.
QOTD:
1) drinking lots of water daily
2) having lots of healthy choices available in my fridge and pantry
3) having accountability like this group
It's exciting to lose weight, get healthy and be able to shop for nice clothes!
Good Sunday morning.
Just kind of hanging out right now. I got up and went to church but I have been feeling lousy since yesterday.
Dh wanted to see the movie Gravity with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. We saw it in 3D and the characters were spinning in space so much that I thought I was going to get sick.
We were going to go up and see my folks but I really don't feel like driving. I would also have to time it right since they live right next to MetLife stadium and the Jets are playing today. We would have to leave very early and then leave before the game is over or leave later and then not get to leave to go home until well after the game (unless they are losing really badly).
Question of the Day
I want to do a fun one today.
Before I went to DW this past Aug I got an App for my nook so that I could see how the lines were. This App also tells me a rating for attendance for each day. For example today is a 9 out of 10. It has been interesting to see what each day has been rated. When we were there in Aug most of our days were 4/10 or 3/10 and we loved it.
Do you have a favorite time or event to go to Disney World?
We went the last week before Labor Day and left the Thursday before Labor Day. It was kind of sad because we had been there several times that week and always had a great time but it is probably the last time we will go since I will be retiring in the next 2 years and we don't have to go according to a school schedule.
Dh is planning on going to Halloween for his 60th birthday. We would also like to see it at a quiet time before Christmas and maybe the flower and garden festival.
Off to get some things done.
Have a happy and healthy day.
QOTD
Do you have a favorite time or event to go to Disney World?
Well, we haven't hit too many (YET!) but so far our favorite is Halloween. We had a BLAST trick-or-treating and the parade was amazing! Can't wait to go back (maybe next year) with our kids :cool1:
QOTD: we like going during Christmas time. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love to see the parks decorated and lit up. The weather is also more pleasant. And if you go before Christmas break at the schools, the crowds are also not too bad.
Good afternoon!
Went to a gorgeous park near my house today to get my long run in. It is a 6 mile loop around a really nice lake so I go there for anything 6+. Today was 6 and it was a decent prep for the two races I am doing next weekend. Hoping I can shave a few minutes off of the time today next Saturday at the Runner's World 10K. Shouldn't be too hard as long as I don't drink a (big) bottle of Arbor Mist the night before like I did last night.:sad2:
Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend. :surfweb:
Good Saturday morning everyone.
Question of the Day
List three things that you feel helps you successful with losing weight.
1- tracking, tracking, tracking!
2- drinking water.
3- not getting frustrated if i have an off day; one day of eating didn't get me where i am, it won't undo what i've done. :)
Question of the Day
Do you have a favorite time or event to go to Disney World?
The only event I've ever been down there for is Christmas but I absolutely loved it. I really would like to go at Halloween one year. Maybe next. I really want to do ToT 10 Miler. :yes:
Good Sunday morning.
Just kind of hanging out right now. I got up and went to church but I have been feeling lousy since yesterday.
FEEL BETTER SOON!
Dh wanted to see the movie Gravity with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. We saw it in 3D and the characters were spinning in space so much that I thought I was going to get sick.
Do you have a favorite time or event to go to Disney World?
I've never really hit a "real" event at WDW. My first visit in 1974 (yup, I'm old) was in December and it was BEAUTIFUL. But other than that I've only ever attended during the Flower and Garden Festival. It is LOVELY then, but it isn't SO wonderful that I would change my plans to be there during that event. In fact.... in an effort to avoid crowds, I would personally try to find the ONE time of year that has nothing going on! We went twice in mid January when the kids were smaller and it was IDEAL as far as crowds go. Weather was iffy, but not too bad... especially since we were coming from the snowy NorthEast!
GREAT question!!
*************
Just kind of puttering along with my day. Lots of laundry got washed and hung out, but of course the sun disppeared shortly before noon and hasn't returned, so the stuff isn't really drying well.
I've got a double batch of broccoli cheddar soup ready for its last step and lovely homemade bread bowls ready to receive said soup! I won't be indulging in a bread bowl tonight, but I may have a few bits of the bread I scoop out of the others.
Also doing a DIY reno on a lamp for DD's dorm room. I bought her a cheap desk lamp at Target before school started, but it stopped working pretty quickly so it is going back. I found a lamp for free recently and painted it.... now to dress it up a bit to coordinate with her "coastal life" theme in her room. I'd like it ready for her to take back tomorrow, so I need to get moving on that.
Just trying to spend time with her between homework (hers) and housework (mine). Not sure what time we will head back to school tomorrow.... the traffic is SURE to be killer, no matter what.
TTYL................P
Ohana, congratulations on not being obese anymore!! That is a milestone to celebrate!!
QOTD:
I really loved my last trip in early May during Flower and Garden Festival. It was warm, but not oppressively hot and humid, but perfect for the pools and the water parks, Epcot was pretty with all the flowers. And the crowds were very manageable.
I always thought I would love Food & Wine, but after having had two trips in that time frame, I decided that it has no draw for me. I prefer eating nice meals in restaurants to those small tasting portions and I think that all these food booths just add clutter to the otherwise pretty World Showcase. Also, while I liked the Halloween decorations at the MK and we had fun at the party, I did not like it that the MK closed early so many nights during our trip for the parties. The weather was similar to May, so that was pretty good! After a few really wonderful trips in January/February we ended up being miserably cold on one trip and now I am kind of trying to avoid winter as I rather want to have pool weather during my trip!
Just coming on to say that the last two days were AWFUL for me for food! Yikes! Just poor choices foe meals and snacks. So, now that that is off my chest, on to a better week! :thumbsup2
I hope it's a great week! :)
Glad you can see the good with the stress of freshman year. I don't know anyone who's kid sailed through it completely stress free, but it does improve. It might take until grad school :rotfl: but it does improve.
Good morning all! :wave2:
Forgot to pm you. I will wait until next week. :) Enjoy your company.
Happy news today! I hit the "overweight" level and am forever out of "obese" category! It's a small victory, but something that has been important to me.
That is awesome!!!! :)
Good afternoon!
Went to a gorgeous park near my house today to get my long run in. It is a 6 mile loop around a really nice lake so I go there for anything 6+. Today was 6 and it was a decent prep for the two races I am doing next weekend. Hoping I can shave a few minutes off of the time today next Saturday at the Runner's World 10K. Shouldn't be too hard as long as I don't drink a (big) bottle of Arbor Mist the night before like I did last night.:sad2:
I so have this problem. :rotfl: We did 10 on Saturday morning and Friday night Mike kept saying--sure you don't want a beer. Like 20 times! Yes, I wanted a beer! But I was trying to be good before my run. :)
We spent more time today unpacking and I would say we are 95% done. It is good enough I would have company and if DS needed to come home last minute (though he never has in the 4+ years he's been at school) we could have his room cleaned up in about an hour. Good enough for now. We are loving not having a yard to take care of, at least for now.
For the first time ever I think I have a groin strain. Unfun! I hope it cooperates because I have lots of workouts planned for this week.
We are having pumpkin bean soup for dinner.
I hope everyone has a great night and a super Monday!!:goodvibes
Hi everyone! I'm so far behind from Friday on everything - but it was a great weekend, so I'm here checking in!
I had an unexpected loss last week of 1.4, which was a wonderful surprise. I'd had a stressful week that manifested itself in some poor food choices. But I think my overall attuned-ness (!) to eating well and staying on track with my exercise helped me get that loss. Of course, after this weekend, I'm up a little, but that should even out...
I went to CT to run the Hartford Half on Saturday, and it was a great race! My official time wasn't what I'd hoped, but my Garmin time was a bit better...I had to stop to pee on the course, and I got stuck in a line. Eight minutes of delay, augh! But - the weather was perfect, the course was really nice, the race was very well run/organized, and my mom got to see me finish a half (any race, really) for the first time! My cousin ran, too, and we went out to lunch after with my mom and two of my aunts. I stayed with my mom last night and drove back today - it was nice to get some time with her!
Did the grocery shopping after a 6 1/2-hour drive, started laundry, and made dinner for the family - now catching up on work and our DVR! I was back early enough to get out for 3 1/2 miles to shake off the car ride. :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
XO
Good Monday morning everyone.
I hope most of you have an easy day today. I will be sitting in meetings all day. We will be writing quarterly exams and SGO's. Can I hit my head on a piece of concrete and get it over with now.
Question of the Day
This is a two part question.
1. What time do you exercise? Is it the same time every day?
2. What is your favorite exercise?
1. I have found that if I don't do it first thing in the morning I rarely do it.
2. Yoga
Off to get dressed and go to work.
Have a happy and healthy day.
