Might not be on in the morning and depending on whether I get my workout in before or after work, might miss the afternoon too. Monday's have been hard for me lately. But I am still here and will try to check in at some point tomorrow.

Have a great Monday.:goodvibes

Good morning all! Sorry I have been MIA. Last week was really blah for me.

New week, new day!!! Time to get back on it.

NSV's? Eating more fruit and veggies and overall health.:goodvibes

My biggest NSV that I have noticed is that I am able to keep my "free day" from turning into a "free weekend" or worse!! I am now able to have my treats without blowing the whole week and I am happy to get back on my plan on Saturdays!! Also I noticed tonight that I am not out of breath when I get to the elevator from the parking lot at work!! :cool1:

Happy Monday to all, I have you have a great start into the week!

My biggest - and most recent - NSV this time around is that I now have finally "reconquered" my wardrobe. There are a few things that still don't fit, but these either are things that I bought with the intention of losing weight at some point or are things from a very long time ago that I wanted to keep because I liked them so much. Today I am finally wearing my tightest skirt to work and it fits well!

Another NSV is that I am getting a totally different feeling for my own body. I am much more aware of it and not just the outer layer of fat. I am starting to see muscles and bones again. And certain movements are much easier because less fat is in the way (a good example would be crunches).

Hi! And OOF. We leave Friday for break, which, is awesome, and I woke up today with a wicked sinus infection, which is not awesome. It's also snowing. Not cool, weather. I'm in the dropoff line with DDs and am then headed to my awesome urgent care doc. I'm hoping work stays slow so I can get some packing done today, too - cool weather for DDs and both for DH and me - can I just bring everything?? :P

Need to rest...but no time. At least DDs singing "22" in the backseat is an awesome morning treat. :)

Good morning everyone!:wave2:

Dare I say it, I'm GLAD the weekend is over?:sad2: It was just one of those where everything that could go wrong, did.:crazy2: Between my phone ringing non-stop with on-call issues (honestly, if you're scheduled to work, just GO WORK!), my IT band killing on me on a lousy 4 mile run, and not sleeping well, I'd just as soon ask for a weekend do over.:thumbsup2

Ok, now that I got all THAT nonsense off my chest :goodvibes, on to the good stuff. Congrats to the DD Pam!:cheer2: Nice job on the weight losses to all of you who see the numbers going down :thumbsup2 (and yes, I'm jealous)! and good thoughts to all of you who are having trouble with diet, the scale, or whatever ails you at the moment! :grouphug: Thank goodness for this thread!:goodvibes I swear it's one of the only things that helps me keep things in perspective and be thankful for what I do have!:littleangel:

QOTD: I'd have to say the biggest NSV has been the way my clothes fit and feel now. I've been able to fit in smaller pants for a while now and it's so nice to be able to sit at my desk and not feel like the waist is cutting into my stomach!:yay: Also, since my eating habits have been what they are for so long now, it's easier to gauge serving sizes and stay away from the junk food. I may have the occasional serving of french fries, but not nearly as much as I used to. Now if they would just stop putting pixie dust in ice cream so it wouldn't taste so darn good...pixiedust:

That's fantastic!!! Congratulations!!!

Woohoo!! :cool1::cool1::cool1: Congrats!

Woohoo!!!!!

YAY!!!! Congrats!!! party:

Congrats to the DD Pam!:cheer2

Thank you all!!! It wasn't a huge amount of money, but it was her first (hopefully of many) scholarship and that it was a SWIM related one made it so exciting.... plus it being announced at her final regular season swim meet of her "career" made it extra special.

Sounds like a great time Pamela! I am not a big gravy person either. You found things that would work for you and had a good time.

Hope all the swim stuff went well today. And congrats again to your DD. Senior year stuff is so emotional. And we had an only, so it was all first and last for us.

Thanks Rose. I suppose it is a bit different, knowing that we will go through something like this again in a few years with DS, but knowing that there won't be more "swim" moments like this, makes it really emotional.

We had a discombobulated day here.

Yesterday it was beautiful. High of 73. Today it snowed. Showers on and off for a couple of hours. Seriously. The weather is so crazy. Tomorrow there is a chance of tornadoes.

I really have weather burnout this winter. I just keep thinking...the sun will come out tomorrow...got that Annie song stuck in my head.

"Tomorrow.... betcha bottom dollar that tomorrow... there'll be SUN!"
:sunny:

Okay... you can thank me tonight when you can't sleep because you are STILL singing "Tomorrow"! :lmao:

Take care and listen for those tornado sirens. I'll pray for safe weather.

A BIG one for me over the years has been the knowledge that I am NOT an embarrassment to my kids! Sure, I can still embarass them in plenty of other ways.... but not with my weight! :thumbsup2 I can be the "cool" mom who shares clothes with her DD!

I usually wing it. But once I get there I'll do a once over of the food seeing what I can and cannot eat. then I'll go back and get 1/2 plate of fruits and veggies, a little protein and a little carb.
If I know it's a place that will have really bad for you foods, I'll eat something before I go and drink a bottle of water on the way there. Then I can get something light to eat but not draw attention to the fact that I'm not eating.

Mom did this yesterday at the tea we went to. She knew there would be lots of stuff with dairy in it so she had lunch before we left. Then she had tea and the fruit and veggie platter. Luckily DS16 helped prep a lot of the food in gourmet class so he knew what had dairy and what didn't but she pretty much stuck to just the fruits and veggies with no dip to be safe because DS knew there would be cross contamination.

Sounds like a good plan.

Missing you BTW! Hope you are well. What was this tea?

Morning all! Bright and sunny here today, but BIG snow predicted to start during the night. I am totally anticipating a snow day tomorrow.

Got a favor to ask all of my favorite DIS-board friends, but I gotta do it through PM, as it isn't allowed here on the regular Dis, so check your PM box soon please! :wave2:

Yes, I splurged last night. We had a bit of a celebratory dinner treat here last night to celebrate the END of regular swim season and to celebrate DD's scholarship :woohoo: AND her other big news of the weekend.... she got accepted into the Honor Program at her top choice college!!!!:yay:

So of course, we had to celebrate with PIZZA (real take-out pizza... not my healthy, low carb, low fat homemade kind), chips (Baked Lay's, but still chips) and ICE CREAM (yes, real ice cream!!). It was yummy and fun and delicious (and we even took photos, since eating like that around here is a real EVENT).... and now it is time to get back on plan for ALL of us!!:)

Not working today, as I am home in anticipation of a phone call regarding my "new" job :rolleyes1 I hope my paychecks don't come as slowly as this training and such has gone! I was initially hired for this position on October 20 and I am STILL just in training. Part of it is my own fault as the web-based training has gone slowly since I am so busy.... but part of it is their fault in contacting me when they are supposed to about different stages.

Lots to do here this morning and I have a short day at home, as DD leaves school early on Mondays for swim practice.... yes, even though the "regular" season is over, we will continue to have "spring training" in anticipation of summer season.... plus she is going on a college recruiting trip this upcoming weekend and wants to be ready to swim for the college coach!

Off to send those PMs to you all!....................P

At the high school, the museum on campus hosted a Victorian tea and a fashion show with clothes from 1660 to 1910.

It was really cool! DS16 did the food with his cooking class. We had a speaker from Bigelow tea ( company is in CT, btw) and then We had local women portraying local women in history wearing the clothes. Some were students at DS's school too.

It was a pretty cool event.

Miss y'all too!! We've just been so busy with sports and class events, it's nuts!
I'm actually sitting at the glass place getting my windshield replaced. Then tonight we have a class meeting for 7th grade. DS16 has indoor track banquet tomorrow. Outdoor practice starts today. DS12 had bowling Wednesday. Thursday and Friday dad and I have to take pics of the ambulance outside the museum at school.

It's just crazy!

Yup.... crazy as usual!! :lmao:

That tea does sound really neat. I contemplated going into Art History for a while in college because I wanted to work in a museum setting with historical costumes and clothing artifacts.... but alas the idea of so much more studying got the better of me!! :lmao: I'm sure I would have LOVED to attend your event. And even better that DS got to do some of his cooking for it!

I have a question sparked by R&M, no less, about sending in your numbers.

If we don't lose weight for the weigh in can we just not send you our numbers?

That makes sense to me since we are only tracking losses right or are you bumping us back if we gain?

I maintain last week and then gained 1 lb for this current weigh in so my % would be unchanged at this point.

Do you understand what I am saying?;)

Well, I'm back from my little camping trip, it was cold, it rained, we got wet, but we still had a great time. Did manage to sit around the fire with friends for a few hours before going to the local hostelry for a pint of Guinness (well, we were celebrating St Patrick's Day after all!!)

It was great to see friends again as the last time we camped together was in October for Halloween. We like 'themed' camping trips, so we're now planning something for the summer solstice!! They are a bunch of friends that I met through camping in the north of England, and we try to meet 4 times a year (weather permitting)

Managed to keep to diet, sort of!! I took some stuff with me to keep within tolerance (my diet has things called syns - you can have 5 - 15 of these a day, plus 'normal' healthy food) When I added up my syns for last week, I was still inside the limit as I'd hardly had any on a couple of days. The scales will tell on Friday!!!!!

Well, I actually look for ways to add more walking to my day now :) I like hitting my bodymedia goals, including 10,000 steps a day! For instance, I was cold sitting at my desk this morning so I took a 10 min walk outside to warm up (might seem strange, but since we had that heat wave this weekend us people of the desert freak out and crank up the A/C so the office was freezing while it was a beautiful 80 degrees outside:)) ... Felt great!

Sounds like so much fun! I haven't been camping in almost 3 years :scared: Now you have me thinking about at least a short trip this summer (we usually drive over 20 hours to get to the Redwoods when we go camping!)...

Hope you feel better soon enough to have a magical vacation!! :mickey:

I've been awol last week w/ spring break craziness. Stayed local just kept insanely busy w/ the kids and then nights I was just trying to catch up on stuff I normally do during the day.

Way too much eating out! Somehow I had a slight loss last week (1.2 lb) I did manage to commit to my morning workout so I'm sure that helped. I also balanced out my bad meal days and kept it as clean as possible the rest of the day w/ just my smoothies or something.

DH is gone tonight and I need to go to Costco and the kids want Costco pizza! Oh that stuff is grossly good! I need to keep in control! Hopefully find time for a workout tonight.

ok - now the kids are back in school I need to get back on track.

When I did the weights, I recorded gains, but we don't report them on the the first page if you are negative for the whole month.

However lets say you lost two pounds the first week, and then gained one back, I would change the percentage since it was still not negative for the month.

Pamela might have a different idea, but that is how Lisa and I handled it. :goodvibes
****

Feel better Liz! :) You have a trip to get ready for.

I have enjoyed reading everyone's NSV. :goodvibes

PlutoBaby--I am really very sorry about your itband. It is just the pits. Since you lost weight, have you had someone look at your running gait again? I pronated when I was heavier, and suppinate now. The stability shoes really caused some problems for me when I was wearing them--and didn't need them.

****
My DS is a senior in college and he is on his way back from Colorado to SC and stuck in bad weather at the airport in Atlanta. We need lots of good thoughts that his plane home gets out tonight.:goodvibes

I decided to forgo my last two physical therapy appts. My therapist is leaving for another job and I was just about done anyhow. My back is feeling ok, and I am hoping I have turned a corner.

My eating, eh, not as good. But I am maintaining pretty consistently, so contemplating just going to maintain and calling it good enough. So I am an 8 instead of a 6. It's not the end of the world, right? :) Anyhow, we'll see.

Evening friends! Presuming we will have a SNOW DAY tomorrow :cool1: so I will update page one in the morning. Just wanted to give everyone a last chance to send in any numbers they might want to!!

Tonight is the season finale of BL AND season premiere of DWTS! Why are they BOTH on at the same time? Thank GOODNESS for the double DVR in our house! Probably watch DWTS with DH and save BL for the snow day relaxing tomorrow!

Ate well today and enjoyed a lowfat pulled pork sandwich on low carb bread and a HUGE side of steamed broccoli for dinner and still have a few Points left for an evening treat....so now to decide?? Popcorn or low carb chocolate??? Popcorn will definitely throw the carbs all off.... but SO MUCH FUN to sit and watch a good show with a bowl of popcorn. The chocolate is delish (even though it is low carb), but I try not to indulge often as it is expensive and it has a few "Frankenfood" type ingredients.... but MMMM good!

Off to check on school cancellation list and see if by ANY CHANCE we are cancelled yet. I doubt it.... I'm pretty sure our super NEVER cancels before the wee morning hours (gotta love that cancellation call at 5 am! :rolleyes2 ). Doesn't hurt to check though!

See you in the a.m.!...................P
