Any rumors/news on when WDW would release fall/winter discounts? Any idea what they typically are?

Seems to be there's usually always something, right?

The current discounts end soon. I would expect new ones to be announced around the same time. I'm plannimg a trip at the beginning of September and waiting on room discounts.

I keep checking rooms for the dates we added on 10/9-10/11. And legit hotels keep going off the list due to being full. But this is before they open all the other resorts. I will be happy if they offer discounts but at this time for the 50th I don't see it since rooms are selling out already.

I can see there being some dates that aren't included in the discounts but right now there are no room discounts for any of September and November probably won't be as busy as October. I believe something will be available.

I think the only 2 that don't have opening dates are the port orleans resorts. I'm not sure of the exact dates for the rest though.
In addition to the Port Orleans resorts, All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, and the non-DVC sections of Boardwalk Inn and Animal Kingdom Lodge are still closed and not scheduled to reopen. Meglen already listed all those now closed that are scheduled to reopen.

That would be a bummer if they don't do a winter discount but man, hotels are booking up quick. I was surprised to see how many December dates Pop was sold out for.

When do they usually release discounts for that time of year? Summer?

I currently have a January vacation package booked. If a discount became available for those dates, am I able to take advantage of the discounted rates?

If so, can I book the new discounted package online and then cancel my previous reservations? Or do I have to call Disney to have them apply the discount?

If you go into your account you can "change" a trip you can alter the current booking to apply the discount. So let's say you already booked at PoP rack rate package and out down your 200$. Than next month they have a 20% off water view rooms in value-moderate. You can change your room type and even hotel and take advantage of the discount without having to cancel. If you didn't use a package I believe the down payment was half and if the new cost is less I believe the overage will just twords the final payment. Should not have to call unless something has changed.

Thank you! This is very helpful.

I noticed today that the 2-day ticket deal only has a few more days left you can book with it. Maybe that means announcements are coming soon? 🤞

I agree with above I think this October - December will differ from previous years due to the 50th combined with not having all of their resorts open (unless they do open them before that time even though they aren’t listed). I doubt they’ll have the usual 20-35% resort discounts that they usually have, I’m sure the rack rate will be it.
But who knows!! If they do release room discounts it’ll definitely be telling that the resorts aren’t as booked up as they had planned!
In my opinion by summer I bet the resorts will hook up, more and more as people have access to the vaccine perhaps.

They know people love to get some kind of deal so I think they’ll try to have something. But I wouldn’t expect it to be much for the end of this year and probably for very limited categories, so like 12% off preferred view, pirate room or 1BR kind of stuff.

From experience I know another way they get people... say you have a package booked to hold your room/dates hoping for an offer to hit. When you go to change the offer for the 12% off room or whatever, the whole package recalculates. So if ticket prices increased in the interim, now you’re paying the higher price. Which reduces the amount the new offer will save.

Tricky WDW. Gotta try to stay one step ahead 😅
