Confession: I'm a Floridian of 20+ years - so I KNOW how unpredictable weather forecasting can be. But I'm an OCD weather watcher anyway, lol! I will say that watching it regularly helps with understanding how our weather changes down here. Here's the deal: we're pretty well out of daily thunderstorm season at this point, so any time you see a full day of rain, you can assume a "cold" front is moving through. To clarify, these "cold" fronts don't always actually bring cold air: but they generally do bring in
drier air and a nice breeze, which makes things
feel cooler. Those fronts are driven and steered by the jet stream and Gulf winds and other factors, which change a lot - hence why rain chances change around a lot day by day in the forecast.
So, no - you can't take a forecast out today for next week and assume it's 100% correct. But you also can't assume it's 100% wrong. Last year, we all kept waiting for that rainy forecast to change... it did, but only to go from a 60% chance of rain to 100% chance of rain. For those traveling from afar, it's wise to plan for a number of possibilities: rain, cold, heat. I only live a 2-hour car ride away and won't get there until Fri., when we'll have a pretty good idea of what's in store, but I have in my packing pile a poncho, a mylar blanket (which BTW is great for sitting on in damp grass/asphalt), and a throwaway sweatshirt. To add if needed to my outfit, which is a tank top, Sparkle Skirt, and visor. Layers are your friend
