Wine and Dine 2015

There was actually a high-top with two elementary-aged boys when we were there.

I think a teen would easily enjoy it! Also, the menu has four or five non-alcoholic cocktails or mocktails, so there's plenty of fun stuff to order!
Awesome - thank you!!!
Not sure if this is for Trader Sam's or Jock Lindsey's Hanger Bar but if it is Trader Sam's it is no one under 21 after 8pm. Just keep that in mind. Not sure if Jock Lindsey's has the same rules.
Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. But realistically, we'd be there earlier anyway, so it probably won't matter.

Yikes to all you guys that were in the hospital! I'm glad you're ok and definitely take it easy for the race :) I ran Rock and Roll DC in the rain earlier this year and I ran the Marine Corps 10k in the rain this past weekend. It sucks but I just made it through by putting a good face on it. Especially if it's going to be hot, the rain helps cool things down so it's better then heat and humidity I guess? And it feels so good to put on dry, warm clothes afterward! The times I wanted to stop or walk more than my intervals, I was able to motivate myself by reminding myself that the more I kept moving, the sooner I would be done. And lastly, I kept reminding myself how bad a$$ it was to be doing this at all, much less in the rain.

Yeah, all you guys who've been in the hospital- speedy recoveries! Take it easy, rest and recuperate, then join us in FL to kick @$$ on this race!!

And thanks to whomever it was that just mentioned ME. I need to call them and update our flight numbers and times. I usually just reserve with a mock ressie and remember to update later but had forgotten.

Accuweather also says "a little rain" and 55% chance right now. BUT, it says that for daytime and 0% precipitation for night :)

I know I have seen rain change the day before. Or even be raining in one park and not another lol. So I know we will all (myself included) freak out for the next week and a half. But right now other than general temp patterns, the weather will be useless for about a week more.

Well, I went out to run my 3 miles this morning. Felt good, until .75 miles in. My IT started feeling really tight. I kind of panicked since I have not had problems since TOT last year, which started one week before that race. So I turned around and walked home. I foam rolled and put icy hot on just for good measure. Since TOT I have worn an IT band on my left leg for any runs over a 10k as a preventative measure. Today it was my right leg which has never given me issues before. So I am grounding myself for the next few days. I will try an easy short run this weekend, with the IT band strap. And hope that this is a temporary thing and not something about to go horribly wrong!

You guys need to stop checking the weather forecast. This far out they are about as accurate as your best guess garnered from sitting on your couch looking out your window.

Besides, this is Orlando. It'll be wet no matter what the weather is. If it's raining, it's wet. If it's not, it's humid and it's wet.

As long as Jim Cantore isn't planning to do a live remote from Orlando, I'm okay!

I have made it a policy in life to always have fun wherever I go, or I don't go. That being said, two weeks ago Sunday I was running a trail, tripped and hit my head on a rock, was unconscious until my husband found me, and spent the night in the ER with a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage and hip flexor problems from the fall. The positive was that I had already finished 10.5 of a 12 miler! I still ran the Atlanta 10 miler this past Sunday... slowly but I finished. Another reason to rejoice! I'm still planning to do Jingle Jungle and W&D. Maybe not as strong I had planned, but this time will be not for speed, but for mental (and brain) toughness.
I'm glad you are ok and you are a trooper for staying positive! Have a wonderful race and take care of yourself!

A good thing with the warmer weather - I don't have to give up precious carry-on space to throw away clothes. But def packing some green garbage bags or ponchos. ;)

I went (well DH was feeling generous so he went for me) to the Goodwill and bought a sweat shirt and sweats for $5. I'm going to pack them just in case. What will happen is that if I leave them at home, we'll have dry weather alright.

And a cold snap.

Well, it may be a flight day decision, lol. But not planning on taking any as of right now. I guess I could always throw them in my backpack, then re use the spot for my Expo purchases on the way home! :)

This is when I'm glad I live in New England and with in a few days span did a morning run in 20 degree weather and an afternoon run in near 80 degree weather.

But I'm about to start packing and I have layers in mind.

I have managed to acquire 3 rundisney heat/foil blankets and will be bringing one of those, just in case. Of course, the reason I have 3 is because my cousin and I ran the princess 5k this Feb. and it was 26 degrees. Funnily enough, the half ended around 75-80 degrees and they still handed some out to us. I never could turn down free swag though :rolleyes1

I've heard of people accepting the medal after being swept and having it engraved "DNF" as a personal motivator for their next run, but even thinking about being swept is bad juju to me. "I think I can, I think I can..."
I actually like that idea....Of course I do not want to think about that happening but I really like that!!

Well, since we've started the topic of the "R" word (I refuse to say it...) does anyone have any recommendations of good "water proof" socks or other "keep your feet dry" ideas? Just in case.... I plan to take a small body glide with me and I always pack a hat in case, but the feet part is what makes me nervous. I can deal with being cold, wet, or hot. Blisters and pain, not so much....

I use Aquaphor instead of body glide. I make sure I have some between my toes and on each side of my foot since those are the areas I used to get blisters in the rain. I also started wearing a running hat in the rain and it helps keep the rain from knocking out a contact which did happen once.

I have to second what BuckeyeBama said and don't worry about the forecast at this point. They can barely get the next hour right in Florida let alone the next two weeks.

There's almost nothing that will keep the feet dry, your feet will still be sweating. If socks are waterproof you will still be wet. If it "R@#*s" I will duct tape the tops of my shoes and hope to shed enough water to keep them a little lighter. I have thin socks that slide in shoes rather than feet that slide in socks, if that makes sense. I've seen people with bags on there feet until start time. Having a good dry pair for after is a good idea even if it's dry. I've had my favorite running socks for years, I can't find replacements. Something called drymax hyper thin, or wigwam ironman triathlete are similar.
