Wine and Dine 2015

Much better detail on the medal with this pic,the other one being taken outside just didn't look clear and didn't have me very excited about it.
Yeah the official picture made it look like it was solid silver-colored and you couldn't make anything out.

I don't think ChEAR is offered at the Wine and Dine 1/2. I did a search on last years program and came up NULL. It's usually pretty bold in the Spectators tab/section on the webpage. They are pushing the party tickets instead.

Will access to the Studios parking lot be open? The Studios closing is at 8:00 pm. There may be barriers to entrance. I think your former recommendations of Yacht and Beach are a better choice for free viewing.

You are probably right about the ChEar squad for W&D. There have been spectators in the parking lot area for the Studios in the past. Parking may or may not be an issue with the Yacht and Beach or Boardwalk option.

I know this has been posted before, but when do the corral placements come out again?

55 more days til our trip and, even though I'm not ready running wise, I can't wait!!!:yay::yay::yay:

It won't make much difference at all. If you stick to the middle of the road or path during most Disney races, you won't have to deal with any significant camber. Sure, there are places like on-ramps and off-ramps that are severely cambered, but even on those you can run on the very edge and still have relatively level surfaces. Unless your rail trail is soft, which it sounds like it's not, you'll be fine.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about the road camber too much. The roads are super wide, unless you are running way at the edge, it won't be noticeable at all.

All the roads I train on I will be running on the edge. Training on the camber alternating sides works really well. The Disney runs I have done I stay on the outside. As said the camber is not bad but for the ramps. There are not many runners that go out on the edge. Less weaving between other runners. This works great for me and love being out there.

Hi Wine & Diners!
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Sarah, and I hang out on a few of the other threads around here.

I wanted to stop by to show you guys something I found on the USATF website...

I hope this helps those of you who were wondering about changes to the course!

Yeah I don't either - which is a good thing right?! I love this course. It's my favorite of all the Disney races (tinkerbell being second) and I am running it this year because I'm afraid they will change it soon due to HS construction. So I'm glad to see this.

Hope everyone's training is going well! I feel like I've been making huge accomplishments this week just by getting my weekday runs in. It's that point of my training where I start to get grumpy and "bored" and come up w all kinds of excuses not to. But I must be improving in my discipline skills because when I used to talk myself out of a run I'm sticking to my plan this year. So even if I don't PR or anything at least I feel like I'm making progress.

So Im gonna throw this idea out to our little group today. Whether your running lately had made you happy or not, what do you feel happy about in your running or what have you learned from running lately? (And it's ok if you say I'm happy about the awesome medal!)

After feeling totally pumped after my pace run last Wednesday I have had nothing but crappy runs since. I am not doing the Galloway plan, instead doing a improvement plan through Under Armour run trainer app. It was going really well, but just lost my drive the last week. Add that to taking a spill while running yesterday and I am just feeling done. Landed hard on my rib cage and having enough trouble getting up and down can't even imagine running for awhile. Supposed to do a 2 hour long distance run on Sunday which unless things change dramatically is not happening.

On a bright note we have purchased enough gift cards to cover the whole trip, so it's paid for! Love having the whole trip paid for 2 months before leaving.

Well, I'm definitely feeling that training slump that is pretty typical for me in the build-up to a race. I will say I've been really happy this year to have stayed generally healthy and uninjured (hope I'm not jinxing myself :) ). The last two years I've been fighting injuries (IT band, groin/hamstring pull), so it's been great to feel physically fit and uninjured while training. I've also been happy with improvements on pace this year. I'm running stronger and more routinely at a faster pace than ever before and even though speed isn't the reason I run, it's nice to see that improvement.

I see they just announced this is the last year of the Osborne lights. So everyone enjoy them this year!

I'm one of the lucky ones here it seems. No injuries, no training slump. *knock on wood* My pace is starting to come down a bit. I'm on track with my plan. Now I just have to hope that the plan (from Active.com) works as it's supposed to and that I have enough time to build the endurance that I'll need.

Add that to taking a spill while running yesterday and I am just feeling done. Landed hard on my rib cage and having enough trouble getting up and down can't even imagine running for awhile.

Eep. *healing vibes* being sent your way. :goodvibes

I have been feeling the same way about my weekday runs. It is way to easy to skip them. And I am often bored and grumpy with them. But this weekend it is barely supposed to get out of the 70's(!!!!) here and overnight lows in the upper 40's low 50's so I am very excited about that. It means I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get my long run in!

I'm pretty excited about lower temps too. I am way behind on my program but have a POT for my 2016 races in a week. Fortunately it shouldn't be too hard to improve my POT since my W/D was a 10k with 60k people in the rain with 2-3 good size hills. This is a smaller, flat 10k...so hopefully should improve.

Need to stalk some 7DMT fast passes.

I'm happy to have learned that I can tackle higher mileage in this infernal heat by doing some outdoors and some indoors :) I did 14 last weekend by doing 11 outside and then 3 on the treadmill: it was just the right combo to prevent any heat stress and my recovery has been sooo much better than in prior weeks!

Interesting. Curious to try that now. Glad it's working for you!

I am really happy about the bright forest green mizunos I ordered from the running store last night. Does that count?? Other than that though, my pace is not where I want it to be. It is slower than I ran PHM by about a minute per mile pace. I am really hoping it is the weather, though heat has not affected me much in the past. I am going to up my weekday mileage a bit for a few weeks and see if that helps shake it off. And maybe my bright new shoes will help :)
