Wine and Dine 2015

I've been busy this morning...I got my MVMCP tickets, booked our flights, and made a car rental reservation. :cool1:

Now to start planning the days. We haven't been back in a few years, not since FP+ started.

I have no idea what's actually wrong with it. Most likely it's some kind of tendonitis--pain starting in the big toe joint that radiates across the top of my foot to my ankle. It's one of those things that doesn't bother me at all unless I try to run, and then it aches for a day or two. I'll probably try a short run this weekend and see how it goes after 2 weeks off. I would definitely be up for a meetup some time. :)

Extensor Hallicus Longus Tendonitis or Tenosynovitis maybe? Do you have tight calves or flat feet?

Me too. Rough. May be time for new running sneakers? Or orthotics in your sneakers?

Yeah, I'm thinking about trying orthotics. According to MapMyRun, the shoes should be good for another 200 miles, but I will probably replace them much sooner than that.

Wish we had the airfare booked. We are waiting for Southwest to release their November flights. As long as the non stop stays the same, we will fly with them and get a 5 day ticket. If their schedules change then we will probably fly Delta and only need a 4 day, because we will have to leave early on Sunday.

We have limited experience with FP+. We were there in the testing phase before they added the Tiers to HS. We had tiered at EPCOT but it didn't really effect us because my MIL is a GM employee and we got to ride TT through the employee lounge and get FP from there. We will book some, but not sure how much because I doubt we are going to ride many rides without having the kids with us. Good thing we have 4 months to figure that part out. Only 30 days to figure out our dining though!

How fast do you think the MVMCP will sell out (Nov. 8)?

Also, these are hard tickets, right? So if something came up between now and then, I could give them or sell them to someone else?

I booked with United today. I was able to get the flights I wanted for $287.00. Thought this was pretty good. I remember paying $300+ previous years. We're flying in Thursday night arriving about 10:30pm. Since this is my first Half marathon, I wanted to get to the expo when it opens Friday.

We plan on doing a few hours of parks Friday and Sunday. We're actually staying until Wednesday and doing Universal Monday-Wednesday. DD read the Harry Potter books this year and fell in love. lol We couldn't go without a few days there. I'm not looking for any of the hard to get FP+ rides so we should be good. I still plan on going online when it opens though just to make sure. I only plan on two maybe three for dining and nothing like Be our Guest (did it about three months after it opened and wasn't that impressed with the food). haha

I'm waiting on Southwest, too. They're the only airline that consistently has nonstop flights to MCO for us, and are usually the cheapest I can find. I know it's super early to book flights, but I like knowing my plans are set (and paid for!).

@cindy21494 What did you have at Be Our Guest? That's number one on our list of ADRs to make. We're going to try to get in on the night of the MVMCP. Not sure how the party will impact ressies for that night. Any thoughts?

Well this was about two years ago and they had just opened. Not sure if it has changed much. I had the Grilled Strip Steak with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites, DH had the Layered Ratatouille, and DD had the Thyme-scented Pork Rack Chop. I forget what our youngest DD had. For what we paid, I didn't think the food was worth it. I might try lunch just to see the inside again...that was beautiful!

We've never done the party before, so I'm not sure how that will impact things. It might be in your favor though because there are less people in the park for the party than a normal night I would think. Like I said though we went not long after it opened. I hope my not being impressed doesn't keep you for trying it. It is a beautiful restaurant!

Not sure if anyone on here has heard of this before, but I did see people on here talking about it last year. Beat the Blerch has add three 10K/Half/Full Marathons locations for this year. One is in Carnation, WA on September 12th and 13th (tickets go on sale April 13th), One is in Morristown, NJ on September 26th and 27th (tickets go on sale April 15th) and the last race is in Sacramento, CA on November 14th (tickets go on sale April 17th). The two locations that have two days there is a 10K/Half/Full Marathon both days. There will also be a virtual race for those that cannot make it to any of the locations. Those go on sale April 13th.

The Morristown one is only about an hour from me. I'm hoping to sign up for the 10K. There was only one location last year and it was so popular (sold out as quick as the Disney races) they added the second day for those that didn't get in in time. Can't find the price for these races. If I find them I'll update this post

Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.beattheblerch.com/

Honestly I'm not the one who's super excited for Be Our Guest. That would be the BFF and her hubby. I'm always willing to pay for good food though, so I was hoping the quality would be there. Too bad you weren't overly impressed. I'm thinking of ordering the sauteed shrimp and scallops...the pics online look yummy.

Just to be clear, the food wasn't bad it just seemed boring to me. haha I also don't mind paying for good food. It was early on when they opened and I'm sure they tweaked the menu some. I hope you are able to get ADR's. :)

We thought it was alright. Not the best, not the worst. Enjoyed the setting more than anything. We are planning on an ADR for Thursday simply to complete our version of drinking around the world, 4 parks, 4drinks, and 4 rides. We might even get crazy and throw in a character picture too!
