Wine and Dine 2015

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to plan Disney trips!! The earlier my trip is booked, the longer I have to plan, the happier I am!! The W&D will complete my coast to coast challenge, so we are trying to keep expenses somewhat under control with 2 trips scheduled in a year. We know we are arriving Friday and leaving Monday. I think we are going to limit our parks tickets. We may just do MVMCP on Sunday and of course, the After Party in Epcot. (DH's ticket actually arrived on Saturday!!) Our tradition has been to do a character breakfast on our last morning, so considering that, too.

I am toying with the idea of running the Philadelphia half 2 weeks after the W&D. If I decide to go for it, we will have to adjust our budget a bit to cover those expenses. Decisions, decisions.........

I love planning them too. Almost as much as I enjoy the trips. Almost. :D

I've got a tentative plan for parks and eating. We are usually commando on our trips at the parks, but this trip I'm trying to take a simpler approach. Plus we almost always do rope drop and with a few late nights planned, I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea of sleeping in at Disney. :rotfl2: I think I have my husband talked into another dinner at Victoria & Alberts. Now I just have to start setting back money to pay for it. :rolleyes1

I'm wanting to try a few new restaurants this time as well. Tentatively thinking about Via Napoli, La Hacienda and Kona Cafe as some options. Oh, and Beaches and Cream for lunch one day.

We are actually going to end up with two race weekends in a row. We are running our local half (well, DH is going to run the full) the weekend before W&D. But, I figure if I can run Goofy, I can surely manage two halfs in two weeks, right?

Looks like pre-race taste is sold out now. But, the after party isn't even showing up on the page yet. So I guess that isn't even half full then at this point?

That's awesome! I live in Newburgh but work in Briarcliff and used to live in Croton! lol.

Oh cool! I live and work in Peekskill, but I have friends that live in Cornwall and Newburgh, so we are up that way occasionally. I'm signed up to run the Walkway Over the Hudson half on 6/13, but whether I make it or not depends on how fast my foot heals up. :crutches:

I got my parents' after party tickets in the mail yesterday. Now I have to find somewhere to put them that I won't lose them in the next 7 months. Actually, maybe I can offload them on my parents when I visit them in May...

I'm really surprised Avengers is lasting so long. I guess the draw is to run at WDW more than new theming.

Hah that's awesome.. We frequent Cornwall a lot too.. Just went to Painter's last weekend lol.
Ohhh nooo.. what's wrong with your foot?? Sorry if you said it on here already and I missed it, it's so hard to keep up lol.. I wanted to run the Walkway Half but we have concert tickets for that weekend at Hunter Mountain.. bummer. I do all my long runs on the walkway/rail trail. Maybe we can meet up for a run when your foot heals up!

It wouldn't surprise me if you were able to buy the after party tickets during the expo,I mean for that you're talking about filling Epcot which doesn't even reach capacity during Christmas week. Not saying it'll last that long but I wouldn't worry about it selling out anytime soon.

Its incredible as maybe 3 years ago the DL races were the ones selling out in less than an hour,I mean they're still selling out quickly but comparing them to the WDW races theres definitely been a change as 4-5 years ago the WDW races were lasting months, the full in Marathon weekend used to last as long as Nov-Dec and the half maybe until October. What's going on is simple, more people are running races,DL has added races over the last year while WDW is losing races.RunDisney needs to step it up and add a big race weekend to replace Everest,I mean at least a 5k and half and also bring back ToT,maybe as a half marathon.

I'm with ya! I'm mostly waiting for the F&W event schedule to come out. I'm planning to get a Tables in Wonderland card this time around, and I want to hit up a few of the special F&W events since we'll be in Orlando for so long.

They did this the first year, and severely over sold the party. And it was miserable. And hot. And not well organized. I am sure there is a high number of tickets available, but it will 'sell out' a couple weeks before, if for no other reason, to make it appear to be in demand.

All good news for me, as I am not sure if anyone will be coming with me or not. I didn't want to miss out on a ticket for them because I waited, nor end up with an extra if I go solo.

I have no idea what's actually wrong with it. Most likely it's some kind of tendonitis--pain starting in the big toe joint that radiates across the top of my foot to my ankle. It's one of those things that doesn't bother me at all unless I try to run, and then it aches for a day or two. I'll probably try a short run this weekend and see how it goes after 2 weeks off. I would definitely be up for a meetup some time. :)

I did it last year. It was tough--two race weekends in a row, both with really terrible weather conditions (Hopefully that wont' happen this year!) I am tempted to register for Avengers tomorrow (I'm already registered for W&D) but probably won't.

We did it too. Be ready for the wind .... and don't shoot for a record .... but it's fun!

I'm still up in the air about my trip dates. This will be a solo trip for me. Several friends are going, but I'm doing this on my own. I like having time to myself, because I NEVER get it at home. But I also feel guilty about not being with my kids. And we're doing a family trip in January, so it's not like I'm going to have to wait that long to go back to WDW.

My kids are off school Thursday and Friday before the race. I think I'll fly down on Friday so I can at least enjoy one day of their vacation with them before I abandon them like a horrible mother.:lmao: But then I'm wondering if I should stay through Monday, so I can do the first night of MVMCP on Sunday night. Hmm, decisions decisions.
