I live about 30 minutes from " the burg".
I second the Cheese Shop, as well as Doumar's for ice cream.
BG is a 1 day park, it is hilly in a couple parts.
The historic triangle: CW, Jamestown and Yorktown shouldnt be crammed in the same day.
Yorktown beach is eww, the water is the York River, Va beach, i dont go to either because if i cant see through the water.
But Va beach has festivals, concerts, little shops. An indoor skydiving place, not sure if it is near the beach.
Williamsburg has a zip line park.
My city has a couple museums. A nice city park.
As for traffic, ugh. You may want to take an alternate route from Williamsburg to Va beach depending on the time of day. May I suggest route 60 that goes from Wburg to the Monitor Merrimac tunnel.
The hampton roads bridge tunnel can be a parking lot.
Oh also the Colonial Parkway is a good
way to go between WBurg, Jamestown and Yorktown.
Have a great visit.
