Will we make it? LL time and dinner…

So essentially my options seem to be….let Disney get away with charging me money for a ride time I didn’t select and I go eat my dinner at Boma…or I keep the ride time I didn’t select and Disney gets to charge me money for a missed Dinner reservation. So either way Disney got to rip me off in some fashion today.

I wish I could explain the depths of my own disappointment when they did it to me on our trip. It was an absolute gut punch. I am so sorry. Definitely try talking to the blue shirts. You may get lucky!
 
No, I’m not eating dinner at 9pm! That’s the only slots showing for Boma now.
If you don't want to pay cancellation fee, then you can change your ADR to a different date if GET doesn't make any changes or ROTR goes down at the last minute.

Please do take a deep breath. You enjoy yourself regardless of what Disney throws at you.
 
I'm pretty certain there is a CM with an Ipad in the roped off area (like a manager) at ROTR who will help you and possibly get you in at a different time.
 
The ride itself probably takes 30 minutes. So it’s really pushing it since you are going from HS to AKL. Disney bus isn’t going to help since you have to wait for it to come plus it’s going to stop at Kidani first before going to Jambo. With a later ADR probably get seated earlier. Is there anything at HS dining wise that you can switch to instead of Boma?

I've never done ROTR in 30; it usually takes 40 mins (for our first group with LLIA$) and these are sold out days, so possibly a bit longer. I think in this case they will let you move the LL otherwise Disney is loosing money if you just pay the $50 cancellation fee for Boma (we are a party of 5).

OP, first of all, I feel your pain. And this happens all the time.

Because of it happening all the time, I think that someone on the GET will be able to help you. But since you're not getting to DHS until later today, you might consider asking the concierge desk at your resort for some assistance. Because the odds of your making your dining reservation at Boma on time are extremely low. Perhaps nonexistent unless you could commandeer a helicopter. ;)

The front-desk CMs can sometimes take care of things like this. You just need your Boma reservation moved to, say, an hour later.

Something else to consider is changing your Boma reservation to another day--even if this means you'll be canceling it afterward--and eating somewhere at DHS today/tonight. What if RotR is down during your appointed time and by waiting a half hour it'd be back up? You'd want to be there.

I'm on your side. I do not like the gambling aspect of G+ and ILL$ and how the reserved times can easily conflict with ADRs made 2 months ago.

Good luck--and don't miss RotR if you've never done it before. It's amazing.
 
I see reservations for 4&6 for Boma at 6:40 and 8:10. What’s your party size? For 8 people there is 8:10 and you can mobile check in 20 mins early.

I just changed it to 8:25pm…i wasn’t really happy about that. I was starting to walk to the lobby of the hotel to see if talking to concierge would do anything. But as I was waking to concierge I looked again and a 6:40pm slot showed. So I changed it to that. I hope that gives us enough cushion.

I completely agree. I understand if you are dragging your feet for several minutes before paying---but the fact that you have to endure high levels of stress hoping your fingers and your phone work fast enough to get the time you selected or close to it is just ridiculous. We are doing Disney this summer (only because we had promised the kids we would go again--then the pandemic happened) but after this I am over it. The nickel and dime attitude and additional layers of stress Disney has added just isn't fun anymore.
Yup. This is probably my last trip for a long time too. We’ve had fun. But not nearly as much as past trips. There’s been a lot more stress which has caused more arguing. It’s not the same anymore. Our first trip here was 7 years ago, followed by a second trip two years later. It’s definitely not the same feeling we got on those earlier trips.

You're lucky you didn't get kicked out while it was processing your payment! This happened to me a couple weeks ago and I was furious. Fortunately, more times popped up about 15 minutes later, so I was able to secure a spot, but, really, it's insane their system doesn't work smoothly. Disney's IT has always been glitchy. That's not an excuse, just an observation.
 
Ok I kept checking the reservation times for Boma and now a 7pm slot opened so I snagged that. As long as Rise doesn’t break down I think we should be good! Sorry for the drama everyone. I’m just a little stressed this morning but feeling a little less so now.

The MDE app kicked me completely out two times yesterday while at the MK for whatever reason. It wouldn’t even let me sign in with FaceID. It made me do the full login. Can’t explain it. Incredibly bizarre how bad their IT is
 
I’ve read reports of people doing the chat feature on the Disney app and getting their times changed easily and quickly.

Disney REALLY needs to fix this timing issue with LL and ILL.
I started a chat and no one responding even an hour later. I just gave up and ended the chat after I was able to move my Boma reservation to 7

We have been kicked out numerous times during the process. I was told to take screenshots of everything. I have started doing that and guest service just inside MGM to the left took care of me and gave us an anytime Rise ILL for that day.
 
The same thing happened to me in December. I had reservations at ohana and rise that were to close for comfort. I asked a cm if she could change my dinner reservation but nothing was available so she just gave us passes to ride rise anytime that day. It dosnt hurt to ask.
 
Welp, like many posts before mine I have to report trying to get a paid LL for Rise this morning, only to have my time changed significantly by the time I paid for it! And I was lightning quick too! Selected 1pm slot, and by the time I checked out it changed to 5:10pm! And of course you don’t find this out until you’ve paid! This is such shadiness by Disney!

Well, we have a 6:15pm dinner reservation for Boma tonight. Do you think we will make it, providing Rise is working during our window? (It went down multiple times the other day when we were there). Do you think if we tapped in during the 5 minute early grace period, we would get done with the ride and be able to get to Boma via the Disney busses in time, or would we have to Uber to be safe? I’m so mad at Disney this morning! This system is seriously a joke.
We cancelled three Signature Dining meals because we never knew what Genie or LL was going to deal us. We were a group of 60 somethings and all the rushing, getting up early, and tech ruined our trip.
