We have rented points for 5 nights at VWL for our June vacation with the dining plan. We plan on coming in a day early and stay at the WL. I am going to buy 7 day park hoppers and one day dining plan as a package for that night. When we transfer over to the VWL, our park tickets will then just transfer over to our new VWL card, correct? Or should I not do a package and just buy our tickets separately?

Did they not have a room at the VWL that you could rent with cash to save you from moving after just one night? That would take care of the ticket issue as well. And I'm not sure, but if you're staying 6 consecutive nights, don't you have to buy the dining plan for all the days you're staying? Even if you are changing rooms?

CRO (WL) ressies are handled differently than DVC ressies for the dining plan. I do not think you can add the dining plan to a one night stay at a regular WDW resort. As far as your park tickets, I don't know if they can be transferred to your new VWL room key from your WL room key. Worst case scenario would be if you have to use the WL key for park admission and VWL key for the dining plan. You could save a little $$ (not much, but a little) by buying your park tickets through an authorized online ticket seller. For the Dining Plan at DVC you do not have to purchase a park ticket through Disney.

If I was able to get the additional night at the VWL, could I buy my tickets at the front desk and have them on my card so we only have one card to carry around?
