Will this bag work in the parks?

My fiance and I will be going to Disney on our honeymoon next september. I love Coach, and was thinking about asking for a new something for there for Christmas. I was just wondering if anyone had advice as to how something like this would work for our trip. I plan on just bringing my KTTW card, our honeymoon registry gift card, some cash, my camera and cell phone (blackberry). Fiance will have cargo shorts on to put his cell and small camera in as well, and I can throw it in my bag if needed. I have heard so many people carrying backpacks and big bags, and I don't want to have to lug around anything that big. What does everyone think of this? It is their large wristlet.

If it works for you then i'd say buy it. Everyone on here has different needs, thus different bags. I have diabetes, I carry a medium sized backpack and carry my meter, insulin, camera, cell, and other things like bandaids and hand wipes.
Things to consider though (I can't get the link to show up):

Is it enough that you won't lose it? Is it comfortable for you? Can you see yourself using it for 12 hours in a day? Do YOU think it will hold the necessities?

Sorry, I was in the middle of trying to get the link to work. Should be now. I def. won't lose it. I typically try not to carry a purse around with me and only carry a wristlet, so I am used to keep them with me. My only thought was will I be okay going on rides with something like this? I would be able to attach it to my belt loop on my shorts. I will be fine with cards, camera, phone, and was thinking just a zip lock bag to put it in when going on water rides.

I couldn't see your bag but personally, I wouldn't use a wristlet. I don't want anything obstructing my hands. I have a really small bag with a crossover strap with different sections. It's just big enough for my phone, small camera, blood testing kit and insulin and my glasses. It's full but it works. I'm sure Coach makes something like this too. Or you could just stash everything in DH's cargo pants ;)

HAHA! I don't want him to have to carry everything, I feel better if I have it rather than him ;) I know that they make small bags with longer straps. Will have to check out my local outlet and see what I can find. Any issues with bringing your bag on any rides throughout Disney? What about rides that you can't bring anything on with you? Are there cubbies to put them in?

If you're able to attach it to your belt, than you should be fine. It's not much different from a fanny pack (but those things are probably the ugliest things ever). I would although, if you're going on a ride like Test Track or Space Mountain, keep it attached to your belt loop and put it between your legs. That way the lap bars won't crush your cellphone or camera. You might want to think about reinforcing the strap somehow though. It could be easy to detach from the wristlet while on rides. Also, using the freezer bags are better for waterproofing cards and cellphones.

And i'm not sure of any of the rides that actually don't allow bags onto them. Most of them allow them as long as you secure them properly.

Ok, now I can see it. Really adorable. I just looked on that website and what I was talking about is a swingpack. They have good prices, have you used them before? I might be interested in getting myself a little something for Christmas :santa:

Thanks for the tip on the freezer bag! :) Will do!! I have never had an issue with my other Coach's wristlet coming undone, but have also never been to disney with one! lol :rotfl:

Yes! I was also just looking at their site. You can get great deals on things at a Coach outlet if you have one near you as well!! I know mine always is hanging out a coupon at the door, 20-40% off usually. Never used those bags before, but have never had problems with quality of any Coach items I have. Purses and all size wristlets.

This is the size bag I always bring to the parks. It works out great for me and I love it!

I have almost the same bag (except in blue) and I used it at the parks. I did however buy carabeners (I know I spelled it wrong) and used one so I could attach it to my belt loop when I was riding RRC and other places I was afraid I would drop it. I was afraid the wristlet part wouldn't be strong enough. (I am a worrywart) I found I could fit my cards & room key and my phone and lip gloss.

You should be fine with that unless you plan on heading to universal. Many of the bigger rides there allow for no carried on bags of any kind

no issues with not having a cross body type strap? I just hate even carrying a purse, and my wristlet is usually heaven sent for me because that is all i usually carry

I actually have on that I use on my keys to help support MS since my future mother in law has it. It works great so maybe i will bring that to be extra safe and just leave it with me at all times.

At universal I don't on bringing anything that wouldn't fit in my fiance's wallet. Cash, license and my debit card most likely. Contemplating bringing my camera, but fiance has a small camera, one of those kodak waterproof video camera/camera that can fit in his cargo pockets.

That all depends on how you pack it and if your ok with it getting a little wrecked. I had one just like it in a bronze leather from coach and was able to stuff it to the rim with an epipen, ventolin, 4 benadryll chewables, tampons, pantyliners, 1 credit card and 1 ktwc, a lip gloss and kid you not a hand sanatizer. I was so happy that trip that I didn't need to carry anything else. But when it was cold I got stuck carrying a sweater all day for the night time. Oh and where it gets wrecked is when you stown your bag for rides mine just looked dingy to me after the trip. I also do remeber it felt heavy like on my wrist but nothing bad just like I knew I had it overstuffed.

Currently my new park bags consist of a vera bradley messenger bag. The one I purchased was last December its not as big as the current messanger its closer in size the current hipster but a nicer cut in my opinion and a envirosax. I can fit everything in my bag its very comftorable and it fits perfectly in the ride storage webbing thingy. If I want to carry bigger sweater etc I can throw it in the envirosax with my bag and still wear it over shoulder and then I can fold up the envirosax in the evening or fill it with whatever I end up buying along the way.

Only you know how much you need to carry. I advice making a test run at home filling the bag with what you think you'll carry to the parks with you. Or at least stacking those items for yourself to visualize how much space you need.

That's really cute and I say go for it if you think that would be the best option for you. :goodvibes

Just know though, you'll still have to have it checked at every park, everytime you go in. I had a bag half the size of that last time my fiance and I were in the World and I hated having it checked.

So next year, if we go there for our honeymoon, I'm going to combine our stuff and just keep it in his wallet. So only the absolute basics that can fit in his wallet will be in there. That's it. We're even cutting down to one cell phone, since we'll always be together while there. :)

I'm so tired of waiting in line with people that have a bazillion bags that need to be checked. It would definitely be nice if they had an express line, for the light travelers with the singular tiny bag.

I think that's plenty large enough for what you'll need to carry. I'm a big wristlet fan. For our last four trips, I've used a Dooney and Bourke cross-body bag. It's a little larger than your wristlet and has three separate compartments, which I like. The main thing for me is that it allows me to feel it's secure and my hands are free.

Who is going to be carrying the sunscreen? I guess you could get a small tube to fit in there, but you'll have to get a couple of them for your trip.

I don't get wristlets, don't they just slip right off your wrist (I have very small wrists and fingers, my ring finger is a size 3.5)? Do you have to hold it in your hand the whole time? That would really annoy me, lol.

I like to have a crossover bag, personally. For one, I don't have to worry about it slipping off my shoulder, secondly, I have scoliosis, so one shoulder is noticeably higher than the other one, so I can't put anything on the low shoulder, or that hip, for that matter. So I have to carry the kids on the left side. With a crossover bag, I can put the strap over my left shoulder, but the bag sits on my right, so I can still carry a kid on my left hip. Not something you have to worry about, but that's the way I have to do it.

If you can make a wristlet work, then go for it! :thumbsup2 Practice if you feel the need, and have a backup plan if you are worried.

Personally, I used to carry a cross-body bag (as small as I could find). But the past year, I just leave the purse at the hotel (bag hidden in a drawer under clothes, valuables in the safe) and use my pockets. I enjoyed the freedom of not having to keep up with a purse. The video recorder was either carried by hand, or placed into one of DH's pockets (those huge pockets on the side of his shorts).

I also kept a small tube of sunscreen in DH's pocket, as well. It was enough to last a couple of days, and we refilled it as needed.

Also, I when I carried a bag (or if I was toting around purchases), I took it on every ride with me -- even if DH wasn't riding. Sometimes they went in the floor, and my feet held them in place, other times in the seat with me, like on my lap or behind me. Even if "cubbies" were offered, I would be worried about leaving them there. At a local park, I see too many people exit a ride and go "shopping" at the counter where guests are advised to leave their items (hats, cups, non-valuables, etc.) while riding. :sad2:

You said you like wristlets and it's what you carry often, so I think this one would work great for you! It's very cute and should hold what you need.

Someone else mentioned sunscreen- you can get individually wrapped, single use sunscreen toweletts. We used those last year and they worked great! Applied regular sunscreen from a tube before we left the room and threw a couple packages in my bag to reapply later. No sunburns!

I'm a little hesitant to say yes. I personally hate wristlets because I get annoyed at having to hold them on, and I definitely couldn't do it for 12+ hours in a theme park all day! I use a belt bag from Gucci so I'm hands-free but not weighed down. (I only say Gucci because their style of belt bag seems to be a LOT different than others I've seen, compartment-wise, etc.) I would maybe ask for something a little bigger and with the ability to be shoulder carried, just because you may end up carrying more than you thought as the trip progresses or the day goes on. I also bring with me one of those Nike drawstring backpacks, since it's so lightweight, easy to clean, and collapsible. This way I can put it around my ankle on rides, throw little purchases inside, and still not be weight down.

Okay, I think what I'm trying to say here is I would bring the wristlet but another bag too just in case you need to switch and don't want to buy something there! My friend had to buy an entire suitcase there before and it was insanity haha!
