Maybe 4 months from now when Tink and I are sipping whatever rum concotion we chose at the Tambu Lounge and I'll say casually...remember the puke fest of 2008? How my pre-trip report was overtaken by descriptions of bodily functions no one wants to think about much less discuss? Then we'll nod and laugh because it will be over!
My goodness. We'll have such wonderful things to reminisce about. And in ten years time, you can retell the story and your newly teenaged son will say, "Mom, who
was that crazy woman you talked to about my throwing up on everything we own? Oh...and can I go to the mall?"
I'm actually soliciting advice here. I'm taking a look at my Animal Kingdom day, and I had us doing counter service for lunch, I was thinking Restaurantosaurus. But the more I look at it, that seems to me like "normal" counter service fare. I'm wondering if any of you have eaten at Flame Tree Barbecue?
I have to chime in that Restaruantosaurus is the typical counter service fare. I LOVE Flame Tree. I've never had a bad meal there. The corn bread is particularly yummy. It's a good value - lots of good food for the price, in my opinion. But I've heard great things about Pizzafari too, if you're looking for inside seating with A/C. Never eaten there myself.
It is so cool! A bird's nest on our wreath on our door. We showed it to DS and he was very excited. Currently we're up to five eggs.
I used to deliver the newspaper back in my early non-money-having college days. One morning I walked up to the porch of one of the houses on our route and discovered a bird nesting in one of their hanging plants. I got to see that little sparrow family from nest to egg to brand new hatchlings to an empty nest. Very sweet and fun for DS!
Cantina de San Angel has Mexican food that I actually like.
I second this. I love getting a snack here in the late afternoon and sitting at the tables by the water. However, BEWARE, the birds here are experienced scavengers. One actually sat ON my table and watched me eat. I left him a plain nacho.
Also, the Land pavilion has an excellent selection of lots of different kinds of food. Great if you and DF are in the mood for something different.
I'm hoping to check out the new selections here. Last time I was in the World it was the old Sunshine Seasons Fair.
I am so exhausted, and I just want to cry. I can't wait for DH to come home so someone can help me.
I know you're in New England and sweetie, if you're in commuting distance to me, I'd happily come over and help you out. It breaks my heart to see sick babies.
Oh, and I'm puke-qualified. I was the designated mom at all of our post-high school parties. You know, around that time in your life when you think it smart to finish ALL of the Captain Morgan's? Yeah, I couldn't drink at the time (liver issues...not to mention I wasn't 21) so I ended up being the only sober one who held many heads, listened to many a spiel about how someone would "never drink again" and used gallons of disinfectant to clean. I think I can handle your DS. Although, just the puking. I think I might have to leave whatever comes out the other end all to you.
Seriously. I hope the TK family is doing better. Lots of love from the Tinkerbellarella household.
I think you should get tshirts for all 3 of you saying, "I survived Pukefest 2008 and all I got was this lousy tshirt"
I would wear one for our Lapu Lapu Lovefest!
