Wilderness Lodge room location???

We are staying at the VWL in Sept. Since we've never stayed there, I'm not sure of what there is to request. Any suggestions????

It's pretty much all woods view. You could request to stay away from the oft-mentioned dumpster view.

I ask for Lake View. If you get Lake View, you'll avoid dumpster view. Or you can ask for a room near the elevator.

Dumpster view is about as far away from the elevator as you can get, and it's not on the Lake View side.

We have always requested an upper level floor with a pool view. These are closer to the elevator. We have stayed at the VWL 3 times and our requests were met.

On check-in, you may want to ask about being the "flag family" for one of the mornings. We have not been lucky enough for this honor... but we will keep trying.

What type of room are you getting? We had a 5th floor dedicated 2 bedroom, and the balcony ran the entire length from the living room to the 2nd bedroom. If you get a first floor room, you can walk out onto the grass.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the deer. When we arrived, 3 deer were grazing in the woods right below us.

And I second requesting being the flag family. We were able to do it the last morning of our stay. The view from up top is amazing.

We requested a water view and got one from the 3rd floor. It was a nice view!
