Wilderness Lodge Observation Deck?

Does the Wilderness Lodge have an observation deck?

and

If so, can anyone go on it to watch the Magic Kingdom Fireworks? Are they visible from the Wilderness Lodge?

They have a huge "balcony" off the fourth floor over the area where you are dropped off when you are checking in. I've been out there during the day but never at a time when there were fireworks. If I remember correctly, though, the view from there doesn't afford you the opportunity to see the castle (hence fireworks).

I agree, there is a balcony on the 4th floor but you can't see the MK from there, the lodge will be in the way. You could see the EWP from there though.

The reason I ask is that I saw a picture on a Disney fan's Website that showed he was on a 7th or 8th floor observation deck. Is this off limits to regular customer? Does anyone know abou this restricted observation deck?


It might be the area where they do the flag raising.

There is an area where you can see the FW's. PM (or post on the WL faq pt 4 thread or Humphrey's Home on CB) to FloridaCat. He can give you the details!

When we were the flag family we were on the roof. There was no deck, we were actually on the roof with the mechanical equipment.

"Technically" there is an "8th Floor Observation Deck" but it is only accessed by CM's from the 7th Floor. There is a sign posted "8th Floor Observation Deck" then you turn a corner to go to the "9th Floor" ( They also have a 7 1/2 Floor) This is done for Florida Fire Safety Codes..all floors or landings bust be labeled.

We were on the Roof for flag family May 3rd and I had to laugh at the 8th floor observation deck..it was about 9 sf.

That's the place I'm talking about. I just wasn't sure if it was accessible to guests to watch Wishes. I bet it would be a great view.
